Did you guys get to tour the hospital at all?
 
Hey all, got an invite last night at 9pm! no dates show up on the website to schedule, is there an established protocol for what to do when this happens?

I also interviewed here recently and I agree with the above statement. The Davis students are the chillest, friendliest, most welcoming students i have seen in my interviews. they seem really excited to be there and the school has such a family feel which i have not seen at other schools. They have a number of different ways which students get to know each other including small groups, big sibs, colleges, and a retreat at the beginning of the school year where students get to know each other.

The only thing i do not like is that the school is in Sacramento which isn't the most exciting city to live in.

oh and the professors we met were amazing,

No we did not get to tour the hospital, tour included the anatomy lab (which does not stink nearly as much as other schools. and Davis has so many cadavers other medical schools sometimes ask for some.) and teh education building (which is only three years old so it's new and shiny)
 
Anyone know how often Davis releases new interview dates? Its kind of annoying checking every day and I rather not miss the next round.

Is there a student host program for UC Davis interviewees? I am interviewing next week, but was too busy to check until now. It doesn't seem like there is one...

yes there is one, you should ahve got an email about it about 1 week or so before the interview date, you could call admissions too

Not sure but at the interivew i remember the director of admissions saying something like they are now at decemeber interview dates, or something like that. So id assume they have been coming out somewhat steadily.

When I signed up for interviews Sept 15th, the closest interview date I could get was Dec 7th....

was that the same for everyone else, or is it just me?

Yea i got the invite tonite at 9 PM (PST). I also checked the website, and no dates showed up. I guess we just have to check regularly..

But Congratulations!!!

What's the best way to contact these guys? I emailed them, got an autoreply and then nothing, then called, got voicemail, left a message, then nothing. Mildly frustrating, as I need to talk to them about sorting out some pre-req stuff...
 
I submitted my primary 7/5. LOR were all submitted 9/9 and i still have not received a secondary.
I looked up my status on their page and it just says "AMCAS received".

Do they send out rejection letters or just taking a VERY long time to send out secondaries? Anyone else in this situation?

at my interview on 9/25 they said that they were already up to dec dates for interviews and had already invited over 1/2 the total people they will invite...so yah its probably not just you.

Dood! Holy crap you were so right. After my interview yesterday, UCdavis is easily my first choice school now! I love this school, incredible!

I like UCI too just davis really blew me away far more then any school including UCI...Any UC honestly is basically my number one choice...im not picky.
 
has anybody been able to schedule an interview recently? or has anybody actually called? i got it last week and i've been checking every day, but no dates have popped up! i know it says to wait, but i'd reeeeeeeally like to schedule this one as its my first!

I'm in the same boat with trying to schedule, but with their whole "the admissions office only knows what you see online" disclaimer I feel like they would just be annoyed if I called.
 
just decided to call anyway, I asked if she knew when they would come out with new dates and she pretty much said no just keep checking.... 🙁
 
I keep calling at bad times and getting the answering machine, my stupid schedule!

I haven't been able to register for an interview for like 2 weeks!
 
I need a quick response from those of you who have already interviewed.

Do we need to bring any forms of legal residence/pictures of us/copies of passport? Or do we not have to bring anything? The confirmation letter never specified if we have to bring anything...I just want to make sure!!!

I need a quick response ASAP, thanks!!!

No you do not need to bring anything like that.
 
I've been complete since 8/28 and no word 🙁........ Anyone complete for this long and get an interview????

dont think this is something you want to win?:meanie:. Serious though you are not rejected at least so its not so bad since they have started rejecting. dec-march interviews aer still available.

They started rejecting? Hm... hopefully they make up their mind to either reject me or interview me soon. If it's the latter, I'll be excited, but if it's the former, I get to drop this stupid calc class. Sadly, my stats are pretty middle-of-the-road, so I don't think either is terribly likely anytime soon. :lame:
 
still holding out for a UCD invite too! Complete since 8/5 so im pretty close to you july people.

my stats are lower then middle of the road and i interviewed so wouldnt worry at least too much about that point.
 
finally! my first invite, got it this morning...9am, submitted my application and secondaries really late so was pretty happy to hear back from UCDavis!

Congrats!!! You had such a fast turn around like days!!! I've been complete since 8/28 🙁 starting to loose hope......
 
I've received an interview invite over 2 weeks ago, but I haven't been able to sign up for a date on the website. I keep on getting the interview invite email from Davis, however. I've received 3 total so far. Anyone going through the same thing?
 
Baah. I just called the admissions office. they said they're full till december and are working on finding january spots.
 
Did anyone send a thank you email? if so did they reply to you?

I'm in the same boat, I emailed and got the same info about scheduling January Dates, so at least we know we haven't missed any dates.

dont think so..i interviewed on 9/23 they said we should expect some sort of decision near the end of nov.......🙁🙁. this is my number one choice i had hoped they would get back sooner.

I see. So I guess the only people who will hear back next week are those who interviewed in the first week of september.

You're right though, this school was amazing.
 
Is there an overnight program, or alternately, how possible is it to fly in and fly out on the same day. I'm in So Cal. so its a 2hr flight or something to Sacramento.

Also, whats the best (cheapest) way to get there and which of Sacramento's airports should I fly into?

there are student hosts...interview starts at i think 8am or maybe it was 9am...either way i would highly recomend against flying in the same day.

Fly into sacramento intl and from there you could arrange the nxt step with a student host. If you want a hotel there is a marriot that i stayed at that is literally <2 mins walking distance from the UCD med campus where u interview. There is a shuttle that can take you to the hotel from 21 dollars.
