I just got that email as well...and I didn't even apply this year...seems like it might be some sort of mistake
 
nonamesleft, I got verified 08/12, and just got an secondary invite today, actually 1 minutes before they sent an email acknowledging receiving my AMCAS app (according to gmail at least)
 
I got the same email after sending my secondary in 3 weeks ago. But it went to a different email that I used as my official email from last years AMCAS, I'm reapplying now.

And it got sent out a 8pm Davis time which is weird for the office to be sending out then. I emailed the admissions office also to check.
 
A person from admissions emailed me that the update was for.....

"If you applied last year, this was “house keeping” for year 2009"

That is the biggest jacka** statement I've ever heard from a med school. If this is how they empathize with applicants, I wonder how they empathize with patients--which makes me wonder how well they can teach their students.

You should keep in mind that these officers are not physicians.
 
anyone get an interview or any good news except a rejection? sorry everyone🙁

Wait, I don't get it. Did they send you a rejection email if you applied last year or does this email pertain to you applying this year?
3 days after the app was completed seems too fast to review your app. It sounds like they took your money and ran.

well, I emailed them. I guess they won't even acknowledge receipt of my primary until my new MCAT scores are released (as opposed to acknowledging it and holding it like the other UCs). Oh well, time to ace this thing and it won't matter if its a month later.
 
interview invite! my first one

IS, complete 8/13 (according to status page) but didn't get the complete email until 8/14 (this morning)
 
i can't. i click the schedule interview option under the interview tab, and it lets me choose a month, but none of the months have any available dates.

i'm having the same issue. i called earlier this am and they told me that they were having technical difficulties with their system. i was told to just keep trying throughout the week.

O my god, with all the rejections, I'm getting really scared too.
 
Wow, interview invites and rejections already? Am I already late in submitting my secondary? AH! Premed neurosis mode :scared:...
 
Ugh, god I haven't even gotten a secondary yet. I have a bad feeling about this.

I just called, and the answer I got is not till friday at the earliest. Not that that won't stop me from checking every few hours. 🙂

Anyone else planning on being there for the first day?

yeah i'm thinking about it. so far davis is my first (and only) interview invite and i don't know if i want to do it too early, but i figure i have to start somewhere.

Same here. I've gotten UCSD and UCSF, but nothing from Davis and Irvine. SD and SF may just be auto-secondaries though, I'm not sure. I'm more interested in Davis and Irvine though, so hopefully they aren't dumping me so soon.

No they all screen. What confuses me though is that other people have gotten pre-secondary rejection already??? I've heard of people just never hearing from the UCs, so I'm hoping this isn't my fate.

I am SOO ecstatic! Are there any updates about the interview page and dates not showing up? Should I call them?

i checked the website this morning and still no good. i bet tons of other people have called to remind them of their IT problem. at least no one can schedule so its not like all the good dates will be gone. :shrug:
 
i'm scheduled for 9/15 - hope to meet some of you soon!
 
Ahh. Had some meetings for work so couldn't schedule interview until late today. I came back and all the Sept dates were gone! I got Oct 20th.

Hmm...not good. At least Irvine notified me that they have my application and that I am "pending review." I just got my MCAT score this past Monday, so I could understand if they wanted to wait until then, but Davis hasn't even confirmed they got my primary. I sent them an email, which they also haven't responded to. I might just give them a call next week.

I have a question about the pre-reqs.
It says courses beginning with Calc and Stats will satisfy the requirements...does that mean I HAVE to take Calc and Stats? Or does it mean that I can use Calc I and Calc II?

so on my application status page, everything has a green check and a date of completion, but under "secondary application materials" it is still counting down the days, like it says "3 days left to complete" but it also says it's already completed... anyone else have this? should i be worried?
 
anyone know if there's student hosting available?

also, for those of you flying: how are you getting to/from the airport? super shuttle's like $40 RT and it looks like public transit sucks - only one bus per hour.

I used one Calc class and one Engring Stats class. I don't think you'll need stats but that's just my opinion because on their requirements website it doesn't you have to take stats - just college level math which I assume should even include things like linear algebra and differential equations. Should probably call though and ask to make sure.
 
Anyone else interviewing on Wed, Oct. 7 ?? 😀

After I clicked submit, I realized I should have signed up for sept. 29th. oh well.
