Ugg..I hope I get an invite (and acceptance!!!) here! I'm waiting for my secondary to be marked complete (glares at the X by the LOR). Hopefully, they show love to UCD graduate students:xf:.

Congrats to all you guys and gals that got them already! 🙂

It could really take up to 3 weeks to have them mark it? Oh man...

1 out 5 who make it for the interview get accepted.

those are quite bad odds...compared to most schools similar to davis...

but alas, i would LOVE an interview here :xf:

congrats btw :luck:

1 out of 5 is the matriculated to interview ratio right? I'm sure the accepted is much higher than the matriculated. Hopefully it's like 2 out of 5 accepted and not 1 out of every five cuz those are really bad odds.

These stats are so much more comprehensive than MSAR. Do accepted normally include those after waitlist movement or just those accepted directly (not including those pulled from waitlists)?

doesn't specify if accepted includes waitlist movement. I think it probably does? not sure 100% tho, but a safe approximation would be to assume that it includes waitlist movement

ya makes sense..thanks!

Has anyone figured out why some people who just got invites have been able to schedule interview dates and why others of us can't? If anyone has anything, it would be appreciated.

If you have scheduled your date did you just choose a month and then a list of dates popped up? What browser were you using? Is it a pop-up?

i was using firefox 3.0.14. i just chose a month and the page reloaded with a list of dates. there is no pop-up. after i selected and confirmed my date, i got an e-mail confirmation as well. hope this helps. good luck.

I've had an interview invite for a week, but I haven't been able to schedule an interview. I check the website 4-5x per day. It's always blank. I've used google chrome, firefox, and IE to schedule. I dont know whats going on...I turned off firewalls, pop-up blockers, and even antivirus...

did you wait until the date they specified in your email? Before that date you can't sign up.

Anyone have their interview already? I'm set for sept 29th, would love some feedback.

Also how close is the campus to sacramento?

The medical campus is in Sacramento now... right where the 99, the 80, and highway 50 intersect...
If you are wondering how far the main UC Davis campus is from Sac... it's about 20-30 minutes depending on where you are at in Sac

hey, keep checking. I got the invite this morning and no dates were available for me, but a couple dates in october just opened up for me.

In the interview confirmation e-mail, it states that a vehicle may be necessary if your interview location is off-campus. For those of you flying into Sacramento, what are you guys going to do?

I don't see anything about a vehicle in my confirmation email...

It's not in the e-mail you get right when you sign up for an interview date, but it comes a little later when it gets nearer to your interview.

hmm... well I'm flying in too, and I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to rent a car until you're 25, which I'm not. I'm sure they have factored in the fact that many are in a similar position.

You can actually rent a car under 25. I did when I interviewed in Texas. You just have to pay an extra fee for being in the 21 to 25 category. For Alamo, National, Dollar, Thrifty it's like 25 dollars/day. Enterprise is 10 dollars/day.

interesting. so do you have to make any prior arrangements? or can you go to the car rentals at the airport and fill out some paperwork on the spot?

true you can rent after 21, just more expensive. You can probably do it on the spot but it's risky what if they don't have any cars on the lot?

Hi, I have a quick question. I'm an oos applicant and my primary app was complete on 8/4, but I still haven't received a secondary. Should I just take this to be a rejection...

yeah I hear you. can someone who has interviewed here confirm whether having your own vehicle is truly necessary on interview day?

Hi, I have a quick question. I'm an oos applicant and my primary app was complete on 8/4, but I still haven't received a secondary. Should I just take this to be a rejection...

no one can say for sure. I assume they would actually send you a rejection notification if they were going to reject you, so until then there is hope. Keep in mind stuff happens strangely at the UC's. It took 2 months for UCD just to confirm receipt of my primary.

anyone else have an interview this tuesday? maybe we can travel to campus together from the airport to cut costs? PM me...

as for the car situation, i'm flying too. i'm planning on calling tomorrow to ask if a car is needed because they should have the schedule finalized.

I was complete with my secondary on 8/5 and I still have not heard anything yet? Does this mean I have an auto rejection?

Hey,
I was complete the same time or even earlier (July) and I have still heard no word but people who have been complete after us have received invites. To me, that doesn't sound good but you never know.

Did anyone else not get a secondary OR a pre-secondary rejection?

Verified back in July and Davis is the only school I haven't heard a peep from...

I really hope that both of us hear some good news soon!!!

what hotels are you guys staying at/which are decent and close to UCD?

about a week before your interview, they will email you a list of student hosts - i would recommend staying with one of them rather than a hotel

also, after you get the email that says your interview schedule is confirmed, call admissions - they will tell you if you need a car. that's what i did and thankfully they told me i did not.

so excited. just got an interview invite. my first. thanks for the love davis.

Im not expecting a secondary because my stats are garbage but I got the "we have recieved your primary" email but no response thus far about secondary. My GF who was verified a month after me just got her rejection pre-secondary today. I'm just waiting to see what happens I guess at this point. Strange. I'm fully expecting a rejection pre-secondary but just the opportunity for a secondary would be amazing hahaa

got an invite today; complete sometime mid sept (didn't know you had to separately submit prereqs and they had to reopen my app for me.. ha ha)

but i can't schedule an interview either! no dates show up🙁

Congrats! The same thing happened with me as far as the interview scheduler, but after about a week of messing with it a date finally appeared. Just keep trying.

Complete for a long time and nothing. Sigh.

interview invite today!! my first, and at one of my top choices, so you have no idea how relieved i am!

complete 09/10.

both of my friends have completed their secondary way after mine but got their invite already... where's mine?? so sad!! =(
should i call and ask?

good luck tomorrow guys! Im really excited, though i wish i stayed witha student host...hotel is boring lol😛

Hey guys!

Got an interview invite on 9/24 for UC Davis Rural-PRIME program (MD/MPH)
(Complete on 7/20)

Hi all,

How difficult it is to get into UC-Davis as OOS? I'm a Florida resident and URM.

Thanks,

:luck:

Completed 9/19 and got an interview invite 9/23. My first one, and its just 3 days before my birthday so it was an awesome early gift.

Still having the same trouble finding a date to register for like everyone else.

Anyone else Interviewing next Tuesday the 29th? For those of you who've had an interview already how was it?

It was such a great experience that its my new number one choice. Of my 3 interviews so far davis was far and above the most impressive school and one that i hope to attend. I really dont think any school i could go to an interview for would impress me even 1/2 as much as davis did...I could go on and on but you will see soon so ill leave it at that. Its a nice day relaxed and the interviews like many are conversational and non stressful.
