i just received a secondary (i was amcas verified in june but my mcat scores weren't recorded until yesterday). my interest in medicine is working with underserved communities. will it reflect poorly if i don't apply for the prime program?

I just feel like they definitely will be confused about it, which is never a good feeling for someone deciding on your acceptance to have. They might even ask about it, so I'd just make sure you have a really good answer in case you get an interview

same, although mine was received a bit later than yours. they seem to have been giving out a lot of interviews, so I am doubtful about my chances. It bothers me that some get complete so quickly and others have been waiting for weeks...perhaps they just gobble up the secondaries of those whom they like more in the first place. Disappointing indeed.

you're not alone, I, too, have been waiting forever for them to download my letters. I've all but written this one off as it is getting quite late in the cycle to be complete and they seem to have already given out a lot of interviews.

well, I hope you get complete soon, you seem to have a legitimate shot at an interview and more with that app. This was the moonshot for me anyway, so it's not a big deal.

thanks for the vote of confidence but tbh, these schools are all a crapshoot so I'm keeping my sights low so I don't get disappointed
anyway...getting a secondary from here is remarkable in it's own right and I wouldn't discount your application
they clearly liked something about it if you made the initial cut

I was complete 8/21 and am in the same boat. Since no one who was marked complete received an invite after ppl who were marked complete after them did, I assume it can only mean bad news...

Just look back maybe about 7-8 pages or so and you'll see all the people who have posted about their interview invites. I was complete 8/4 so was one of the earlier ones. Hope that helps! 🙂

I'm in-state, have received secondaries from all of the UCs except UCSF. I applied MD/PhD. Has anyone received a secondary/interview for the MSTP program?

I submitted on 7/24 and was complete 8/19. Yup, i decided to wait and put up a finished profile at the end of this whole process (sorry to those of you who are curious). I wasnt able to delete my link from SDN to MDapps yesterday, but ill try again today.

Thanks! I sent an email to the PRIME-US program as requested and they told me my application would be reviewed within the next 2-3 weeks and I'd be notified of their decision. It's almost been over a month now, but maybe I'm just being overly anxious...no news is always better than bad news I guess... 😳

I don't think it's applicants that are already accepted, but a parallel process with those that have already been offered interviews at UCSF.

Here's the email that I received about the process:

"Congratulations on your UCSF interview and thank you for your interest in PRIME-US! Your application will be reviewed by PRIME-US leadership within the next 2-3 weeks, after which we will let you know by email if you will be granted an additional interview for PRIME-US. If you don't hear from us within a month, please feel free to email or call to check on your application status. Although you must be accepted at the UCSF School of Medicine to participate in PRIME-US, our interview process is entirely separate from the school's process. What this means is that PRIME-US interviews do not take place on the same day as your UCSF interview. Your PRIME-US interview will be scheduled for another day, either by phone or in-person depending on your location and availability. In addition, the separate process means that whether or not you are granted a PRIME-US interview will in no way impact your application to UCSF. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions at this time. "

Total admissions data 6233 applied, 529 interviewed, 251 were accepted, 147 enrolled

well I have pretty decent stats and they received my secondary on 8/20...still not complete
then again my LoRs were only submitted 2 weeks ago

crash..you are gonna be alright. and your stats are a "tad" better than "pretty decent". i have really really good stats too, and i haven't even got a secondary yet (10+ weeks).

UCSF has had my app since 7/21 (when my mcat scores came out)... Starting to wonder if that rejection is coming. Anyone know the longest a person has gone and still received a secondary invite?
