Well I live in Bay Area, 40 minutes from SF. I will update If (fingers crossed) i hear anything.
 
I have a feeling they'll mail out something today..

That could be true. I was looking at last year's posts and someone mentioned that their acceptance letter off the waitlist was post marked the 19th, which is today!
 
Current unemployment lends itself to compulsive mail checking in the morning a bit too well....

My mail comes between 10:30 and noon, and I'm only a couple blocks from UCSF, so it's kinda painful. On the negative side, I'm frittering away my mornings checking the mail. On the positive side, I'm getting a killer cardiovascular workout running up and down three flights of stairs.

It's probably our wishful thinking, but I also believe something will get sent out today or tomorrow. Thinking back, applicants who live in SF tend to get mail the same day letters are post marked, right?

I think that depends. From what I can remember, there's been only one person from SF who got a letter the same day it was dated. I live in the Bay Area and correspondence from UCSF is usually stamped a day after the date on the actual letter. I am thinking that I don't hear anything from them today or tomorrow, it's not looking too good. 🙁

I called the admissions office about 20 min ago. The nice lady on the phone told me some offers had been sent via mail. I'm looking for some UCSF love as well.

Finally signed up on here but have been lurking for the past year. I'm on the waitlist too, so I thought I'd say hi and good luck to everyone. Non-trad, Los Angeles here
(I 1/28, HPL 3/5, AL 4/21)

Just got accepted! I'm kinda floored given the only other place that considered me was in Eastern Virginia.

Best of luck to all of you guys and hopefully I'll see all of you next year!

guessing most of us (in the bay area) should hear by tomorrow 🙂 since guybrush lives only 2 blocks from ucsf

Don't lose hope yet OneMCAT, it's still a little early. Trying to predict the letters is futile. My friend is a 3rd year and someone in her class got off the waitlist in August.

Hey guys! I got accepted off the waitlist today! Horray!
The letter's dated May 20th, and I m from the Bay Area.

My mail arrived unusually late today, so maybe I got lucky and my letter got delivered. Don't be discouraged OMA! I am rooting for you all the way!

Is your financial aid up on netpartner.ucsf.edu ? In a letter that i got from UCSF a while back it says that fin aid is only calculated for accepted students...

No, i dont think so. I haven't done much financial aid work for ucsf becos i was in such limbo.

I start in late July. I really hope I don't get left hanging on the waitlist for months.

Yeah I turned in those FA forms. Was painful filling out.

Congrats to those accepted and good luck to the rest of us in the Bay who may get some good news tomorrow morning!
 
FutureScaresMe, how long are you going to wait before starting to make plans to leave for your other school (like rent a place, etc)? If we dont hear in the next week I would think that it is more or less over. I dont think that they will take many off the WL during the summer, right?
 
on the letter it says you have 10 days to accept or decline the letter and mail it back to them. I think most people will send back an "acceptance" right away, like tomorrow, where as "Decline" people will wait til the last minute. With that said, I think the next wave of acceptances will come out late next week. And even after that, people can still drop their acceptance if they get off a waitlist of a school they prefer over ucsf. So, let's keep hope!

I'll start making plans in July I think. That gives me 4 weeks, which I think is plenty of time. But I'll be on the SF waitlist till the end. If I get in a day before medschool starts, I'd break my lease, pack my things, and salute whatever medschool I'm at as I board the plane back to SF. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that though.

But don't give up hope if after this round you don't get in. It's still possible at SF, considering they don't put like 500 applicants on the waitlist like other schools.

I am in too...May 20th dated....I live in the bay area....it is a folder, with lots of paper...super dream top school, will go definitely...can't believe this is happening...Good luck to everyone!

Wow congrats you two! Lots of SDN movement. My mail always comes in a day late for some reason. I'm praying right now I get good news tomorrow, but at this point, I think it's better to be pessimistic about these things rather than getting my hopes up.
 
just checked last year's thread and the acceptance on 5/26 was still dated 4/19 that took a while to get to east coast, there goes my hopes for the next batch :cry:

im slowly realizing how much i had my hopes up 🙁
