now thats some food for thought
Has anyone interviewed here? What are the chances of getting in once you interview? Any stats from last year (30%, 60%, etc). Also, how was the actual interview. Were they friendly?
I heard there is a surgery viewing during lunch. This makes me nervous? Is it gruesome? I want to be a doctor, not a surgeon, and once got whoozy during a hip replacement surgery I shadowed. Also, I don't especially associate surgery with food.
Around 10% I think from last year after interview... charter class.
Impossible, they only interviewed at most around 400 students, and they matriculated 43, so that's more than 10% already. They probably accepted at LEAST about 1.5 times as many.
That's a little promising, but low compared to UM and UF who accept around 70% of their interviewees.
ACCEPTED!! I think its time 4 me 2 go hard as the hood Im from!2014 good luck!!

I'm on the waitlist for UCF class of 2014. At least, it's not a rejection. To set the record straight, at the interview, I learned that UCF does NOT over-admit. They admitted 43 students last year and this year they will admit 60, not more than 60. They have a waiting list that they will admit students from, if need be. So yes, they admit about 10% of people they interview. That's why they are literally the most selective school in Florida and probably the US. This year it will be about 60 acceptances out of about 600 interviewees. So congrats to those who've been accepted!
Any accepted people's stats? I have an interview friday!!! Any tips?
I am only avg on stats--I have a 3.1 uGPA from the mid-90's, but a recent post-bacc sGPA of 3.91. I had never taken any science classes in undergrad, so did the whole gamut. 29<MCAT>34. Obviously from the old uGPA, I am a non-trad, with a whole previous life. Honestly, I almost fell out of my chair when I got the call. I still cannot believe it. REL probably had to cover his phone ear piece as I was yelling.
The interview was great, but the day was packed, so rest up. You will have 2 interviews with some pre-designated questions in addition to them just wanting to chat with you. The trip to Celebration Hospital was awesome and I now want to get my hands on that DaVinci again!
Good Luck!
Congrats! How soon after your interview did you hear? And btw, you are anonymous so you can post your MCAT. No one knows who you are

More acceptances would be handed out to people on the waitlist. My point is that they will always keep their acceptances at 60. You may be accepted later from the waitlist but that depends how high you are ranked on the waitlist and how many people drop acceptances. I guess I was using admitted and accepted interchangeably.Admitting and accepting are two different things. They can always only have 60 acceptances held, but if people withdrawl, more acceptances can be handed out. So this tells us nothing.

Good question. I think they will be interviewing about 400 people this year. REL is really honest when he updates you on the committee decision so if you are waitlisted, he'll tell you more or less where you fall on the list and what you're chances on getting accepted are based on your rank. It also depends on your state residency. OOS people will make up 25% of the class.Gotcha. My question still remains. How many are interviewed and how many are accepted (including those who are waitlisted first and THEN accepted?)
Ftrflyr, I know who you are! (I can tell by your screenname) I got in as well 🙂, we interviewed together, I asked you tons of questions about your amazing previous life haha...and my DaVinci stitch came out. I don't know if that's enough of a clue? Congratulations on getting in!! See you next year!
Nevermind do not tell me who you'll are i want to use PBL to figure it out since you know who I am did we talk the day of our interview, which group was you in for the tour with me or the other, and did you drive to the interview? I am going to use the answer to these questions to figure it out😍😍😍

Just got my first in-state interview invite from UCF!! I talked to REL for about 10 minutes regarding the interview day. I am really excited about this one! 😀
CONGRATS on your interview you will fall in love be yourself😍😍
Accepted 2014 UCF
What have those of you who have interviewed at UCF learned about the status of full tuition scholarships for the class of 2014? I know it's still tentative and REL mentioned a few pages back that they were working on assembling nice scholarship packages for accepted students, but does anyone have any more knowledge on the matter they are willing to share?
I'm a junior at the moment (applying next year), but I imagine others are pretty interested in the scholarship situation too.
