Well, if you're interview was last week, you're not going to hear today. I'm almost positive that I heard during my interview 9/22 that we would find out today.

Yeah I wouldn't expect to hear today necessarily...I just know that last year they met on the 23rd (apparently) and people heard on the 23rd or the 24th. I think last year that was when their first regular admission meeting was where they reviewed all of the applications up until that point-ish...ie. people that interviewed around the 8th/9th of October last year had a final decision made on the 24th in addition to those who interviewed towards the end of September.......then again there were also people who still had "decision pending" and the further review email as well.

So I guess bottom line is...patience, wait and see. Easier said than done...

I don't know about that... They pretty much do the evaluations on the spot after you interview and turn them in to the interview coordinator. I could understand not being in the same committee meeting if it's in the same week, but it's been a week. I think if you hear today, we should hear today too. If you guys don't hear anything, then we'll all just have to wait for the 22/23rd.

how do evaluations work, does anyone know? are there 4 different adcoms that meet in the 4 diff campuses? or do all of the interviewers send their evaluations to one committee at the chicago campus? the evaluations are handwritten...

Anyone know for sure whether the ADCOM is meeting today or next week? I thought I heard October 15th when I was interviewed, and someone else said third Thursday of the month when going through the decision process.

Let me preface this by saying that I am hardly an expert, but ...

The admissions committee meets the third Thursday of each month to make decisions. So, you might think that the committee met at the end of September to discuss individuals that interviewed on say, the 14th of September. While this may be the case, only students that were "early decision" would have been reviewed at the end of September so that their decision could be known by the 15th of October (when schools are first able to notify you). That being said, the "third Thursday of the month" meeting still holds true and anyone that interviewed before that date (outside of early decision people) will find out on that day. To make a long story short, only early decision people that interviewed back in September will be notified today.

I wasn't early decision, but I was in the second day of interviews, so...

:xf::xf::xf:

... you'll "find out" next Thursday or next Friday. 🙂

You do realize that today is the third Thursday of the month? The ADCOM is meeting today.

The first day of interviews were 9/15. 9/17 would've been the first ADCOM after interviews. I understand that the people interviewed that day are pretty much going to find out today. I interviewed 9/22, and the first ADCOM after that is today. So my fate is being decided today, so I figure it's reasonable that I hear today or tomorrow.

Hehe maybe zip can help us settle this, or we could just wait till tomorrow. I don't think it's always the third Thursday, because in a year and month like this October, the third Thursday is only halfway through the month. I think it's generally the next to last Thursday that people find out, which will make it next week.

I cosign this...just wait. If you hear something today or tomorrow you'll know your answer. If not then wait till next week. Like womp implied, there are 5 thursdays in this month so who knows.

Sorry about that confusion - I did not realize that October had five Thursdays in it! Perhaps it would better be said as the "second to last" Thursday of the month? Although, now I am a bit scared myself! Darn October 1st being a Thursday! 😱

Doesn't everyone get this post-interview? It doesn't seem to suggest anything

well first of all, even if its a rejection it confirms that today in fact the committee did meet, which if you read above, was a major issue of contention. Whether im rejected or accepted, at least Ill know by tomorrow by mail.

If you look at the first page in this thread it tell you that what were seeing is most likely an acceptance. Check for yourself.

Oh, I didn't see. I was checking 2008-2009 thread and people were getting rejected even after receiving this. good luck!!

What date were your interviews? I've still got nothing.

Christ. I'm going to be a wreck if I get one of those "We'll keep reviewing you" e-mails. Just admit me or reject me.

I interviewed on September 14th ... pretty early, so I wouldn't worry about anything.

I got Final Decision made!!!

Interviewed last Friday.

I'm going to eat crow... It's apparently third week of October...
:biglove:

Still "Decision Pending."

Great. Just ****ing great.

Congrats, guys.

But I'm going to go kill myself now.

Funny, the guy who was so sure it was going to be today is the one who gets the bad news.

dude last year like 50% of the kids had their final decision message the day after ( aka tomorrow for you). I bet tomorrow youll see it.

What is the status page for the school? my computer crashed and i lost all of my bookmarks!

That's only after May 15 I think where a Final Decision can mean rejection. If you get Final Decision status before then (and after you interviewed), it's pretty much 100% that you're accepted. Gluck.

so does that mean they don't really do any rejections this early? I swear they told us final decision could mean "waitlist, rejection or acceptance"...but then again going by last year's thread it looks like they don't make a waitlist until much much later.

either way...I hope you're right obviously! I can't believe they made a decision so quickly!!! Less than a week...we had perfect timing w/ 10/9 interviews eh?

Yeah we did have perfect timing and it looks like the interviewer you got still gave you a great evaluation, he was probably just seeing how you would react.

I think they put you on "Decision Pending" for a long, long time if they don't accept you right away. So if at the day of the committee meeting you get a Final Decision with additional correspondences tab, then you're in! Waitlist is also its own online status "Applicant is Waitlisted," and that's obviously not a final decision.

lol touche...and yeaaaaah I guess I passed his test?!:xf:

Still nothing.

Anybody else in my position? (Early interview, still "Decision Pending", no e-mail for anything)

I would really be shocked to get deferred at this point. I thought that all my interviews went very, very well and that each interviewer enjoyed me.

Oh, nice! I have that status, but I'm OOS. Yay for 56k tuition 😛

First Congrats to everybody hearing good news. I was just wondering if anyone has had any movement from "application in process" to "applicant in process" lately. I've been complete since 8/14 (IS) and haven't heard a peep. I know I still have all kinds of time to hear from them, but I just wish they would review me.

Okay so I know that I am being totally neurotic right now - no need to inform me ... but has anyone here gotten the CBC email after getting the final decision status???

I don't think anyone will get one until January 1st except early decision people...I looked it up no AMCAS

I dont think anyone, who got accepted to anyschool has gotten one yet.

New status change:

Current Status:
"A final decision was made on your application on 10-15-09. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

Good news: we know the adcom met yesterday.

Bad news: now they're totally screwing with us for the next "two-weeks". hahahahaha you have to have a twisted sense of humor to post that status...

Still nothing. I would've gotten something by now.

Great. Great grades, ECs, MCAT, thought I had a great interview day...

****.

Why haven't I heard anything either way? What the ****, UIC.

Honestly, it seems like no one else is in my position. Am I the weakest ****ing applicant they've seen up to now?

You're totally castastrophizing, right now. There are what ... like four or five people who have been posting about their status change? That's FIVE people. Sure, you may be the only one out of those five people, but surely that is all. I am sure that you will hear good news eventually considering your good stats, ECs, interview, etc. Just hang tight. For all you know, the five of us may have been rejected ...

For all you know, the five of us may have been rejected ...

true that....(although obviously I'm sure we all hope not lol)

No news is better than a rejection in my opinion. Either way, it's way too early for anyone to be freaking out. You had a super early interview and some people are still waiting to get applicant in process...

i've got a brain buster for you guys... this is what my current status reads: "- - Recommendation(s): 3 received from AMCAS, expecting a total of 3, awaiting Admissions Officer letter review-"

what does this mean😕😕😕 i submitted like 3 weeks ago.

look on the bottom of page 15...somebody else just asked about this recently. good luck!

I live 20 miles from UIC.. I hope I get a big package today. Do you guys think 2 days is enough for it to be delivered?

I am hoping for something to come today, too!! I think it is very reasonable for us to expect something today ... but it will probably come on Monday. 🙄 Hmm ... I live 20 miles from Chicago, too! so here's hoping for an acceptance coming our way! :xf:

If its first class, im almost sure well get it today. If regular, then we could wait days. Damn no mail on sundays, and to think they wanted to cut another day too!

since I'm currently not in Chicago I'm not expecting anything until probably Tuesday...although I will probably check the mail on Monday:xf: (....and today lol)

This whole process is stressful enough....too bad the status page doesn't REALLY tell you your status

Nothing in the mail today... I live 5 miles away, boo USPS.

um. are the three interviews separate?

my premed advisor told me the UIC interview is a panel interview- like 3 people interviewing you at once. i thought this sounded odd. is he right?😕

My interview consisted of three separate one-on-one interviews. 🙂
