OMG +1

It was wayyyy better not knowing when decisions were going to come out. However, I suppose not much has changed! As someone said earlier in the thread, we will find out when we find out.

In the meantime, I will try to enjoy this rainy weekend.

I think I was the one who said that 😛

And I duno... I always think it's better to know as much as you can about everything - good or bad. But that's just me; and I'm definitely not normal

Then again; we are all pre-meds. I doubt any of us count as "normal"

Btw, trying to hold my adrenaline back for tomorrow / tuesday / wednesday. It's going to be a crazy few days eh.

hmm i'm going to put my money on next week (week of the 22nd). i looked at last year's thread and one guy posted that for the previous three years, decisions had been released on 3/22, 3/27, and 3/26. last year, MD decisions went out 3/26 and MD/PhD calls went out 3/25...

Really? But last year the students were also (accurately) notified about the approximate date that decisions would be announced. And according to Ben62734, they went as far as to say in this year's email that decisions had already been announced.

blahhh haha spring break -____-

Guess we'll find out soon enough. Now I just have to convince myself to relax and go to sleep.

... Nah I'm going to play some more mass effect 2 🙂

is there any reason they won't post MD/PhD and MD applicant decisions on the same day?

no, not really. Last year, everyone's status page was updated on March 26 (MD and MD/PhD). It's just that Skip called at least some of the accepted MD/PhD applicants the day before and let them know. But their status pages weren't updated until the next day.

final fantasy >> mass effect 2 🙂

Yea i'm taking a day or 2 break from FFXIII. So close to finishing ME2 (just finished actually)

NOW I can go to bed 🙂

Edit: BTW - potential good luck to everyone for monday morning!

I almost wish I hadn't checked this thread.

Now I'm going to be disappointed if decisions aren't released tomorrow, when before I would have just been pleasantly surprised being that I wasn't anticipating anything until the end of the month!

Does anyone know if they email everyone to say "go check your status page"? Or do they email decisions themselves?

Admissions decisions are posted on website. 🙂

EDIT: I'm going to sound like a troll (I was called one for being the first to post Pitt decisions), but the website seems to have reverted back to normal. But at around 6:45AM EST this morning, I saw a whole new colored page with lots of information about Penn, first look, etc. At 7:20AM EST the page simple says "interview completed."

I expect the page to go live again today for everyone!

yep, they're up.

waitlisted tier 1. 🙁 sort of expected. my interview was awful.

I'm in the same boat as you, eeeeee, it was good while it lasted though. At least it's not a rejection!

Accepted MD/PhD! (Probably) My #1 Choice!

Thank you, Penn!!!

Good luck to everyone else. It's nice we get to find out in the morning, rather than anxiously checking our computer every few minutes.

I'm in! I'm in! I'm in! This is my top choice! All that hard work paid off! I'm making PANCAKES!!!!!

Accepted! Wow. Got a financial aid reminder email from them like 10 min before that was like 'you need to give us tax returns.' I almost expected
them to quickly reverse that and be like 'lol, jk.' All this
is to say Penn rules.

Goodluck, friends! Hope to see lots of you all at 2nd look!

Accepted ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

congrats guys 🙂 waitlist tier 1 here. not sure if i'll stay on it

Waitlisted Tier I. Going to withdraw, and best of luck to all those waiting for a spot on the waitlist. Congrats to those who got in!

ahhhhhh!! so excited. Though the letter says they want us to commit firmly to one school by April 30th; I thought we had until May 15th? (This is for MD/PhD, I don't know if the timeline is different for MD.)

I didn't apply here but have lots of friends with vested interest in this school. They describe Penn as the friendliest and 'awesomest' school they have been to on the interview trail. I'm excited for those who received acceptances here and GL to those placed on the waitlist. Congrats!

yeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh..... in there like swimwear!!!!

I'm in! Yesssssss! I was gonna have a fit if we didn't hear soon! This process took forever! See ya'll at second look! This still doesn't feel real.....
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍:love

waitlist tier 1 here. congrats to you guys who got accepted!

congrats to everyone who got in!!

two questions:

1) when does waitlist movement typically move for tier 1? not until the summer?

2) is it too soon for a LOI? lol

oh, and also, reading last eyar's thread, seems like there was a Tier 1 + penn preview invite, tier 1 + you will be considered early, and then just regular tier 1. anyone get any of those first two?

Now I have the problem that I'm stuck at work for the rest of day and can't immediately get hammered.

Waitlist Tier 1 as well.

Disappointed, but not entirely surprised.

Anyone not get "Tier 1"?

i was thinking the same thing. Is Tier 1 the top? Because it looks like thats where everyone is!

Waitlist Tier 1. Unlikely to have gone without *significant* financial aid. Not too bummed. Congrats to those who are in!

Le sigh, no love.

Got home from a red eye flight this morning to find my Tier 1 Waitlist from Penn, waitlist letter from Columbia, and rejection from Yale (although, I never interviewed there...so this was expected) in my email and physical mail box. A bad, bad morning indeed.

Majorly bummed. It sucks more because I work at Penn Med and have to walk by the medical school everyday. I'm here right now, lol.

Last year, some students got a Top of Tier 1 or something like that on their waitlist letter form. And some waitlisted students were invited to second look. Anyone get that yet?

I'M IN!!!!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Congrats to everyone else who got in and those who got WL...keep the faith!

Tier 1 WL. Not unexpected, since it was my first interview. I do love this place, though, so I'll hold out and see what happens. Looks like I'm joining some very impressive and formidable company. Good luck to everyone waitlisted, and congrats to everyone accepted outright. 🙂

P.S. The faq on the status check website says that there are two tiers - 1 and 2, with 1 being higher. I'm curious to know if there are any tier 2 peeps floating around.

I received a Tier 1 wait list with an invitation to the preview day.

Well congrats. Are you going? BTW, forgot to wish everyone else congratulations. Penn is great, you'll love Philly! Please do come.

Hmmm. It says explicitly on the FAQ on the status check site that the tier 1 WL isn't ranked. Do people think this is incorrect?

I think last year there were very few students placed in tier 2, and some tier 1 students who were either informed that they are at the "top of tier 1" or that they would be invited to preview. This leads me to believe that, yes, there is some ranking of students. Otherwise, everyone would receive these messages.

Well congrats. Are you going?

I'm not sure yet. I'm so tired of this game and I don't think I have it in me to deal with a wait list, especially considering I'm into some places I really like.

what? invite to second look when you're on the waitlist? that doesnt make a lot of sense

Ah, I see. Thanks for doing the sleuthing. Good luck!!

This is what my status page says:

Wait List Tier 1
The Committee on Admissions has a very strong interest in your application, and you are one of the few candidates on the waitlist who is invited to visit during Penn Preview. Please click on the "Visit" tab above for more details. This is an exciting time and you have many decisions to make. We hope you remain interested in Penn.

Add me to the WL tier 1 folks. I was trying to psych myself up for assuming rejection. So I'm surprisingly content with the waitlist. Penn is my top choice school for sure, and still having a sliver of hope is nice. Would've been super nice if I got one of those invitations to the preview day. Time to send some kind of letter.

I don't believe they reject post-interview. But my friend there says tier 2 is basically a rejection.

wow look like penn is knocking down a lot of the sdn hot shots. weird i suppose.
