yeah, I guess I can't really complain, I submitted in early august. But it really does seem random how they're "processing" stuff.

I get so annoyed when the admissions person kept claiming that they review the applications in the order they were received when I call them to inquire about my application status! Then, mine should be complete long ago.
 
I just saw that I was small pooled today.

i don't think it's so much of a "small pool" as it is "complete and under review." read above posts--i spoke to someone in admissions today and that's the vibe i got.
 
Interview Invite! OOS, and complete around the end of July...

As excited as I am, I have an interview Sept 14 at Albert Einstein, and here at Sept 17. Anyone know the best way to travel here from NY (air or ground)?

Hmm... I've never gotten an email update saying I did. And the three sporadic times I checked online, I didn't see the message.

I was scheduled for the 17th, but might have to change it🙁 I have a flight to another interview that night so I have to call and see if it would be possible to get an earlier interview timeslot and leave by 3ish...hopefully it'll work and i can be with all of you scheduled for that day!
 
I rescheduled my interview by email, and they were very nice about it.
 
I'm going on 3.5 weeks waiting to be complete now.

yep, I think it's 3 for me as well. There are others here who apparently have been waiting longer than that too. I guess we just have to be patient.

hooray they were very nice and scheduled me for a 1:30 individual interview timeslot so ill be on the 17th with all of you🙂

Me too! My flight is already sooooooo expensive since im coming from the west coast. i dont want to have to book a hotel. Hopefully it'll become an option in a couple of weeks since the med students just started classes, theyre prolly just beginning to organize it.
 
All the people who are interviewing, did you guys have a hold message or "small pool" message
 
im still at the 6-8 weeks ahhh im starting to get impatient :annoyed:

I had the small pool message.

Where are you guys staying? I called all the places, I 've narrowed it down to the Hilton ($87 student rate, shuttles to/from airport and UVM) or the Holiday Inn ($95 student rate, breakfast, free wifi, shuttles to and from both)

Burlington looks beautiful. I'm so excited!

Hopefully I'll stay with a student host....but how did u get that low price @ the hilton and holiday inn..I called earlier and it was well over 100 and i told them i was interviewing. what day are u interviewing?

September 17th. You? Did you ask for the medical school interviewee rate? They both gave me the price off the top of their heads.

Any set prices yet? I'm looking to stay as cheap as possible as I'll be staying in Vermont for 3 nights coming from a NY interview.

I've been small pooled forever....It seems like from last years threads, the only people who came off the small pool status (w/ interview) did it in less than a week from when they received the small pool status.....

I think I was small pooled for a two weeks before I heard back. I wouldn't read into it. 🙂

I booked the hilton at the med school interviewee rate of $87. The flight, however, makes me want to cry a little.
 
I just got an invite this morning to invite on the 17th, i rescheduled to the 22nd. i had no idea when i was complete or what my status said because i never checked it. my stats arent great either so idk

Hmm.. I just called, and they gave me $150+ with the interviewee rate, still trying to find a cheaper option.

Yep. They gave me that price each night regardless. Anyway, I found LaQuinta for $89 so I'll probably just go with that.
 
M1 at UVM here. Just wanted to remind you guys that September and October are pretty heavy on tourists due to foliage season, so finding a decent rate at a hotel won't be easy. I did stay at the Hilton when I came to interview for $80 a night, but that was in the bitter cold of February. Also, I don't think any of us have received information about officially volunteering to house interviewees. As much as I'd like to just toss my name/info out here, I think I'm going to wait for admissions to let us know what's up.

I'm up for answering questions though, PM me at any time. A quick disclaimer though: I applied late, interviewed late, and was accepted late, so I doubt I can answer questions about promptness and when to expect things to fall into place. Also, don't be afraid to call admissions! They are extremely nice people and nobody is going to get annoyed. If anything it will help, UVM accepts many students from out-of-state, but they get thousands of applicants for that same reason. Just about everyone I know in my class went the extra mile by sending letters of interest and/or calling to stand out!
 
so, i've officially been waiting more than 6 weeks for UVM to tell me i'm complete. jeez!

I submitted the secondary a couple days after it came out but my committee letter just got sent in on Friday. My status changed today to:

We have received all application materials that you have submitted. Your file is under preliminary review. The review of your file may take several (6-8) weeks.
 
Was small pooled and got an interview invite. Have to change my assigned date though since it conflicts with another interview.

UVM has had everything of mine, including committee packet, since july 21. i called last week and they told me to wait another couple of weeks. this doesn't seem fair-- invites are going out before they've even bothered to process my app.

same here man, I have no idea what is going on... I haven't called them yet though. Has anyone who called had their status changed or have most of you been told that a file is "in processing"

i called. the woman was not super nice. first she told me that processing takes 6-8 weeks. then i said, so why does the status page say 4-6. and she said, oh yeah, it does... well you submitted july 21, so you're only at the 4 week mark as far as we're concerned, call back in 2 weeks. and i was like, erm, um, well, hm... okay bye. then i realized that on the day i called, i was actually at the 5.5 week mark. so she was full of crap.
 
Finally got small pooled. Submitted secondary the first day it came out.
