It is true - a "STATUS" tab does exist now! Mine reads "Preliminary Screening Completed."

Yep, just found the status button as well. When I click, mine says "Status about to change" :xf:

I've been complete since the 08/23 so I don't know if this is good news or bad news...lets hope it changes to "interview tomorrow". You bet i'll be checking my email every 5 mins

Mine just says 'Secondary received'.

This is actually kind of hilarious:

So, the infamous STATUS button has finally appeared. So far the "statuses" (?) seem to be: (and I imagine they should show up in the following order....)

Secondary Received
File under Preliminary Review
Preliminary Screening Completed

Any others?

my status says "waiting for mcats"...my scores came out aug 10th and i submitted my secondary before that

So, I guess it may go something like this:

Secondary Received
Waiting for (MCATs, or maybe LORs, or whatever)
File under Preliminary Review
Preliminary Screening Completed

Haha this isn't like VCU. Their messages are clear, nothing special. no need to go crazy over statuses.

complete email came on aug 23rd.

status says "under prelim review"

does secondary received mean app complete? im pretty sure they're waiting on my letter of good standing. >.<

Seems to make sense, but I wonder, do people with an interview invite already have an "invited to interview" status?

i've been complete since end of july. still no status button. i wonder what that means...😕

I scheduled my interview before the status button existed, but to me my status now is "Interview(s) Scheduled"

Cool, thanks Evergrey

Statuses, so far

Can anyone screen capture this status. I don't see it anywhere.

hey my status says preliminary screening completed. Does this mean that we're on hold? is that good? better than rejected i guess haha

not sure enceph. I have the same thing. It can mean one of various meanings, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see unless someone wants to call and find out what it really means.

I wouldn't necessary say you're on hold! If I understand it, you have to go through the preliminary screening before you are offered an interview. Since it says prelim screening, I would think that would be going through your app and making notes about it for the admissions committee so they can vote to give an interview or not. Then again, I could be wrong since this is all wild conjecture based purely on the connotation of the word "preliminary" 😛

For some reason my status has has been saying: "Status About to Change" for the last 3 days. Does anyone have this too?

So I checked my status now that there's a new button and it says I've been approved for an interview. However, I haven't gotten an email from Einstein. Should I call or wait for the email?

Does this button only pop up if you have an interview? If so, where is it located? Thanks for your help! I'd probably wait until Tuesday for the email (seeing as Monday is a holiday) and if you haven't received it by then, give them a call. Congrats!😀

There is a status button on the left side of your application (one of the last buttons) when you log in. You can click it and check to see what the status is.

That's good advice and I think I am going wait a little bit.

Congrats! Do you know when you were complete?

I submitted on July 8th and got the complete email on August 2nd.

Thanks for the congratulations! Best of luck to everyone.

Are you logging into the secondary link, or is there a separate login page for the status?

samesiessss 🙁 "preliminary screening completed"

Found it! Thanks so much 😛

Um, just checked this mysterious status page and it says -

"Waiting for more information - Committee Request."

What does this mean? I got a complete email over a month ago!! 😕

And the Status Saga continues..

Secondary Received
Preliminary Screening Completed
Waiting for (MCATs, or maybe LORs, or whatever)
File under Preliminary Review
Preliminary Review Complete
Interview (s) Scheduled

And now the....." Waiting for more information- Committee Request" (where the hell does that one go??!! Probably after Preliminary Review Complete....right?)

(Interview Imminent would be an awesome one to have !!! Maybe we can suggest it to them, since they seem to be running wild with the statuses )

Mine just went from Secondary Received to -> File Complete.

So:

Secondary Received
File Complete
Preliminary Screening Completed
Waiting for (MCATs, or maybe LORs, or whatever)
File under Preliminary Review
Waiting for more information - Committee Request
Preliminary Review Complete
Interview (s) Scheduled

Mine turned to "Preliminary Screening Completed" today. I assume it's a "hold", correct?

It may be a "hold" before a second round of screening? I don't know, but there must be a difference between "preliminary screening completed" and "preliminary review completed," no?

Interview invite! First of the year...

Complete: 8/18
Invite: 9/7

3.73/33Q OOS

anyone know if we should request a student to stay with now or closer to the interview?

Here's to hoping...:xf:

Just wondering, why did you all choose to apply to this school? I have heard some good things about it, but wanted some more personal opinions! Thanks, and good luck to those waiting or with interviews!!!!

I have my interview next week, and I just got an email saying I could contact Allways East Transportation for a ride to campus from the airport. It says it's gonna be $80 (from JFK anyway). Does anyone know if this is cheaper/more expensive/better/worse than just catching a regular cab at the airport? Any insight would be great, thanks!

Take public transportation, forget paying $80 unless you are made of money. Public transportation will cost you max $10. Assuming you are getting in the night before, you won't be in a rush anyway.

more expensive and a rip-off. you can get a flat-rate Cab to the bronx. probably around 50-60. But why are you going straight from airport to Einstein? You are either getting there insanely early or cutting it way too close. If you have time, take one of the infinite transit routes available. I'm surprised you were able to find some 80 dollar bus to Einstein before you saw that you could theoretically get there for 8 bucks. I would take a bus service from jfk to grand central ($~mid teens) and then the express bus to einstein ($5.50). That mixes cost and convenience. Or to save a few more bucks you can take the airtrain to the subway and work your way from there. Enjoy New York. Don't rip yourself off either.

For future interviewees, avoid JFK at all costs to make your life easier and save money. Laguardia is the way to go. Unless you realllllllly need DirecTV and blue potato chips on your flight. Or if it's NFL playoffs, that's a good excuse to fly JetBlue.

FWIW Laguardia has a lot more delays than JFK.

I'm kind of surprised you say avoid JFK. It's easier to get public transportation from JFK (airtrain), and as wanderer said, JFK is better with delays.

m60>>>airtran. airtrain is like 20 minutes and it takes you to howard beach. then you get to ride for another hour. plus it's more expensive. m60 is 15 minutes and you are at the 6 train in manhattan or 20 minutes and on the upper west. all for 2.25. jfk is good if you live on long island that's about it. its 12-20 minutes further from the city than lga

I would take airtran to Jamaica, then take the LIRR straight into Penn. True, it costs more but it's probably better than doing the subway route. I guess you're right about LGA being slightly more convenient, but the reality is that most people won't have an option if they want the cheapest flight - it'll be either one or the other. I'd say that that convenience is worth no more than $10.

yea but i wouldn't wish airtrain to jamaica or howard beach on anyone. did the airtrain once and its too long. lirr sounds legit though, never thought of that. m60 is just too easy though. as long as you have only one bag

I never actually took the airtran, but I've seen in during the various times I've been waiting at Jamaica. Figured it's easy enough to do, though I wasn't aware that it was slow. I pretty much avoided any buses when I was living in the city and stuck to the subways, though the M60 is the only way to go with LGA.

Submitted everything including my passport scan in mid-august... and I am still not complete yet! 🙁 How much longer is this going to take? Another 2 weeks or so?

I submitted the first week of August, and still am not complete (status: Secondary Application Received), so I'm guessing at least a couple more weeks...

Wow, patience really is a virtue. And SDN is just a bunch of speculation.

I was going to call the office yesterday to find out what my "Preliminary Screening Completed" status meant, thinking it meant they screened me and decided on no interview. I held off thankfully. Today I got an interview invite. So that status definitely does not mean "no interview."

Congrats!

I think that this school is being totally ridiculous with the way they are handling the statuses.. Useless to follow...(but fun to especulate!! 😀 )

Well, I'm just learning that the only thing you can do is: WAIT.

For all these schools, waiting is the best you can do. Even with in-depth status updates, it's not going to make anything happen sooner or later or at all. Einstein does it their way which is different than some other school's way, etc. The one thing that remains constant with all of them is that if you wait long enough, you'll find something out. I'm happy waiting. They'll definitely get back to me. I sent them an app, so they'll look at it and tell me if they want to interview me.
