Here is my (quite elaborate) theory.
First off, of about the 7ish people who are actively posting on this board, 2 have received acceptances. I know that this is not a representative survey, but still. 😛 This is quite low for their acceptance:interview ratio, ESPECIALLY this early on in the game. I believe at one point people interview for waitlist spots - don't quote me on this, I am no official source. Just seems like the consensus, and maybe even if they do have some spots left at that point it is likely few. So, given the fact that about half of all interviewees are accepted, and that it is so early in the game (especially for loyola which starts everything late), I would expect this ratio to be a lot higher, and even higher than 50%.
Then, everyone who has been called received a call from their personal interviewer or Dr. Muraskas (the chairman of admissions). If you notice on previous threads, when the "flow" of phone calls come in, they are from Dean Jones as of lately, so it is fair to assume he has not yet started calling/may not call this time around. I think it is very true all interviewers do not call, and if Dean Jones wants to call then I would assume he calls indiscriminately (but as we see, that has not yet happened).
So, all in all, congratulations to those accepted, and I think that those of us who have not yet heard anything should not jump to conclude that it means bad news. I've given this some thought as I am pretty familiar with Loyola and I am VERY nervous myself for personal reasons, so I needed to rationalize some optimism here. Wishing you all the best and happy and stress free Thanksgiving! 🙂 🙂
Keep us up to date, everyone! 🙂
