Very cool! I'm interviewing in Lansing but I'm also very interested in learning more about the Grand Rapids location.
:/ On Hold for Interview... is this like a rejection or is rejection something else?
Interviewed here yesterday and absolutely loved it! Good luck to all those with upcoming interviews! Ask a lot of questions to the students who have lunch and tour with you because they were very helpful and friendly.

For those who just interviewed, any helpfull hints on how to prepare?
Hey so did I! lol
Nope, not a rejection. It's exactly what it sounds like. They're reviewed your file and while no immediate decision was made to interview you, they're being good enough to let you know some action was taken. Plenty of people last year who got put on hold eventually got interviews.
As far as OOS interviews go, they'll become more prevalent as the interview season goes on. At first only highly qualified and well-fitted OOS applicants will get interviews, but by Christmas around half of interviewees are OOS. At MSU it is still really early. We've had two interview days, both almost entirely for EDP candidates. We interview until April, once to twice a week on average.
Got an interview invite today via email! App complete 8/4 OOS. Scheduled for Oct 19th at the Grand Rapids preclinical campus. So excited.

are there any interviews: acceptances-GIVEN stats?
Sorry I was asking about the ratio between interviews to acceptances...and specifically for the acceptances, not how many actually accepted but the number of given acceptances (presuming that students elect to go to other schools).
I searched around and actually found out that 1/3 of their interviewees were given acceptances...nice little fact 🙂
Sorry about the ambiguity! Cheers!
They told us they interview about 500 candidates for 200 spots, and accept more than that obviously since not everyone matriculates. So I'd say around a 50% chance of acceptance after interviewing (maybe better since we are so early).
Just received an interview invite for 10/19/10 at the Grand Rapids campus!
I'm excited but I was hoping it would be at the Lansing Campus, since Lansing is a shorter drive, heh.
did you just get an email invite in the past hour or this morning? when were you complete whites?
Does anyone know when non-Michigan residents hear back about interviews? I'm a 3.7 sGPA and a 31S MCAT, is that too low for OOS?
Rejected this morning....🙁 . OOS 320, 3.4ug gpa, 3.96g gpa. Complete Aug 20th for those interested.
altoid, sorry to hear the bad news....keep the chin up bc you have solid stats; something will break your way. Was it a status update or one or an email?

hey, im applying kinda late to all my schools, but I was wondering how strict MSU is with the 2 week secondary deadline, i really want to be accepted here, but im having lor troubles and probably wont be complete for 3 weeks instead of 2...is this really bad? should I call the office to let them know?
This wait is slowly killing me. I was complete August 17th, but haven't heard anything back yet.
Has anyone gotten an interview invite that was complete around this time?
I have been complete here for over 2 months, and although I would love an interview I'm not expecting one. I'm in-state but my stats are sub-par for MSU-CHM. However I have already been accepted to MSU-COM so I may be a spartan anyway =D. It's good to know that CHM is moving slowly with interview invites because this means I still have a chance.
It's much easier to be patient with CHM now that I know I'll be heading to med school somewhere next year!
woot woot. interview invite! OOS. was not expecting to hear back until way later.![]()
Uh-oh . . . 😱
Does this mean that if we're IS and haven't heard back yet it's pretty much a silent rejection?
i applied pretty early too - submitted everything in july and i think they reviewed my stuff in august.
what are your stats like, Im OOS and still waiting...
I'm in the opposite situation - I got an interview at MSU-CHM, but haven't heard back from MSU-COM yet!
Hey y'all. And congrats to everyone who got an invite!
I've been away for a while (not away, more like myopically immersed in my quotidian existence), but I was wondering if people could help me out.
I'm an OS with par to sub-par stats, and my Supp. was "confirmed complete" on 9/22. I still haven't heard anything back, so I'm starting to feel nervous.
Thoughts? Reassurances? Well-meaning but ultimately hollow platitudes and condolences regarding a lifelong dream deferred?
