In which section does it say withdrawn? I'd call them if I were you--usually it says "denied" in the secondary application box and interview box.

Is UCI accepting pre-interview updates? It looks like from a few previous posts that they aren't for update letters pre-interview...?

So what was the consensus on this? I tried email UCI's office of admissions last week, but haven't received a reply yet.

I called them and they do accept them. I asked the lady on the phone if she thought it would make a difference and she said something along the lines of, "well, they might get annoyed that they have more stuff to read". Ugh! I'm still debating on whether to send one.

Yeah if you check the website accpetances don't go out until November. I'm really going to say end of Nov, beginning december.

I got the interview invite a couple days ago. I'll be interviewing for the PRIME-LC program as well! It's a late interview though (Jan 10th!) but I am really looking forward to it. 👍

AHH!!! I've been complete since 9/15 and still nothing! This is total crap! I've heard from Drew/UCLA, UCLA Prime and UC Davis, but not UCI! I am so interested in Prime-LC too. 🙁

Solid! Congrats guys! I was complete on 8/5 and still am pending review, which is rather aggravating. Do you know if your online status still said pending review before you got the invite? or did it go blank or say anything else.
It's positive to know that there are still some invites going out for those complete in August though.

I got an e-mail. My status said "Pending Review" before receiving the invite. The 2 dates that were available were in January, so there are plenty of spots left (unlike Davis which only has 1 interview date left). Hang in there!

I think they aren't bad. I believe a lot of people are WL after interviews at UCI.

Oct 4th. Also, 3.7 gpa and 39 MCAT...pretty bummed out when I saw that but then less than an hour later I got an interview from Dartmouth so that was pretty cool.

Congrats to everyone out there who's running the marathon that is the med school application process. Keep your heads up, keep the tenacity, and keep moving forward.

The usual way of things is that roughly 1/3 of each interview group is accepted straight up and the remainder get a spot on the waitlist. The UCI waitlist isn't a bad place to be. A good number of people in the MS1 class were admitted from the waitlist. The admissions committee has a history of being receptive to letters of interest, so don't be afraid to be persistent.

UCI must have sensed my anxiousness for CA invites. Got an invite today just by randomly checking my status page! It's been a pretty good day! Complete 8/5.

So I went ahead an emailed an update letter. They sent me back an email a few days later saying something like, "Thank you for your continuing interest in UCI SOM, we have added your letter to your file."

It's not terribly long (just 2 normal-sized paragraphs), hopefully they won't get annoyed 🙂.

I also sent one in. Well, I sent in an interest letter rather than an update, as I don't have too much to update them with. Let's hope we hear some good news!

i called admissions about it on two separate occasions, and both times they said they were not really sure what that was and that I am still in queue (complete 8/5). My friend apparently was blank for a bit and he ended up getting an interview, so maybe its just a glitch. I still cant help but feel anxious that they forgot about me haha

I think it might be that we're finally being looked at and not "pending" anymore. I guess we'll find out soon. I waited 3 months already, a few more weeks shouldn't be too bad 🙂

Yea, we'll just wait and see what happens. I'm really interested in UCI. Its and awesome school and it would be nice to have a bit of a less costly alternative opposed to the 50 grand tuition 🙂

I'll be withdrawing from OOS schools in the next few days. Hopefully it will free up an interview spot for other applicants.

A while back in this thread, there was talk a blank status meant your file was being looked at, but who knows if this is true. I suppose you could just call them just to make sure nothing is wrong.

haha yeah ill give it another 2 weeks or something before i bother them again. but its really awesome irvine gave you some love-- I noticed you had bad news from Davis so Im glad another CA school was interested!

Has anyone heard back from them yet post interview. I interviewed on Oct 4th and still no word. A few people I know checked their status randomly post interview and found out they have been placed on the alternate list. I interviewed on the same day as them and I still have not heard anything and my status still says nothing. HuH. ?????? Anyone else going through the same thing. Come on UCI. This wait is killing me.

How strange, I didn't get an email.. just saw the invite online... hmmm.. congrats though! 🙂

Just curious, for the Statement of Legal Residence Form, why do they care about your parents? Do your parents' statuses affect your status as a CA resident? 😕
