Calbear, this is unacceptable behavior. It might be good fun to you, but you're playing with the emotions of people who are worried sick.

you do realize that he/she already realizes that but merely finds it funny...

...although if you think about it (and I'm including myself in this), being worried sick to the point of neurotically speculating when acceptances will go out and going nuts when people post up "I got some kind of notice" is kind of silly and ridiculous

naa, its understandable. more than anything ,its the "not knowing" where we will be spending the next 4 years of our life, even if we are already accepted somewhere

I wonder if their lateness this year will give us late interviewees more hope than a waitlist...and also they seem to interview 200 people less (potential rumor...not sure), so maybe march interviews are not only for a waitlist? :xf::luck::luck:

I wholeheartedly agree with this. At this stage, it's almost a relief to get a rejection because it resolves the issue one school at a time. Come on UCLA, don't leave us hanging in this horrible cloud of uncertainty.

I agree; however, I think it's much worse when you don't have any acceptances yet...and LA just seems like a far off dream. Thus, for people like me, even having gotten an interview at UCLA is pure insanity 😉.

Am I the only one who's interviewed here and not had any acceptances yet? Seemed like everyone else at my interview had places to go already.

i know we're not supposed to give details about the MMI, but can someone vaguely tell me any differences between Davis and UCLA? Im not asking for specific details, maybe someone can give me some abstract generalization 😀

Should i be worried that I messed up Davis's MMI and got rejected? I was not too huge of a fan of theirs

I know some people who thought they did amazing on the uc davis mmi and got rejected; i too was rejected from davis; i thought the ucla mmi was more fair

I interviewed at UCLA in Feb with no acceptances in my pocket. It was such a privilege to have interviewed! Waitlisted at another UC and patiently waiting for UCLA's decision. I'm trying to be optimistic, but my practicality has led me to prepare an application for a re-applicant postbac program in case I don't get in this year.

i saw back in this thread that there was a pizza social of some sort associated with the interview (either the night before, or on some day close to the interview)...does this still happen?

I have an interview coming up, and I haven't seen any information about a social event accompanying the interview.

I have no idea if they are still doing it or not, but I don't see why they wouldn't be if they're still interviewing. The link used to be on the page that you accessed when you clicked the "Scheduled" button on your applicant status page. I don't see it anymore, however. I would contact Admissions and see what's up. Mine might have just expired since I interviewed quite a while ago.

Hey guys, I am interviewing soon and I have a few questions 🙂

1. I am told to report to my interview during the late morning/early afternoon, which I thought was weird because usually the day starts at 8 or 9...

2. If the interviews are MMI formatted, will I have opportunities to ask questions?

Thanks for any advice!

1. There's different time slots, morning and afternoon. You'll do MMI after lunch most likely. Bring some gum

2. Of course. Before and After. You'll always have a chance.

I heard that after you've been interviewed at UCLA there are no rejection letters. You're either accepted or you're on a big waitlist with everyone else who has interviewed but hasn't got accepted. They interview 600-700 people, so 300-400 people just have to wait and hope for a seat to open up? You'd think they'd send a rejection to at least the bottom 100-200 just so they aren't waiting around. I don't think UCLA will have to dip too far down their waitlist anyway. Does anyone else have info on this part of their admissions process?

seeeing acceptance up there just made my heart jump! 😱

Trying soo hard to be patient right now...

they interview 600-700? or is it fewer than that since it's MMI? anyone have numbers this year?

if you have to report for the interview at 8:45 AM does anyone know around what time we get out? It appears that there are morning and afternoon ones? I feel like I have a morning one

I interviewed in the past month and they said they try to shoot for 600 interviews, but they were expecting to go over. I heard that from Lili in the admissions office. I don't think they interview any more or less because of the MMI format. There were about 15 people interviewing my day.

Hello!
I am crossing my fingers and hoping for an interview invite! ( If they are still giving them out)
I would like to check the status on the website, but I have been unable to do so for the past week or so-
The website still looks the same, but I can't click on the little coat marks-
Has this been a problem for anyone else?
I tried using 3 computers and still no luck 🙁

Thanks!

I heard from one of my friends last year who applied and interviewed at UCLA. He said that there are actually two waitlists: one that is the actual waitlist and one that is the "backup" for the waitlist. I'm not exactly sure what he said it was called, but since he was on the second list, he knew he wouldn't have a chance of getting in. Sorry if I explained that strangely. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this. Thanks!

I heard this was true as well. I'm not sure if there is a separate name for it, but apparently, once you're waitlisted, you can call and ask where you are on the waitlist. They'll let you know whether to expect something or to "pursue other options"

Use the status bar on the left side 🙂 I used to do the coats too.

has anyone been accepted yet? if so, please send me a message (i promise to keep your sdn screen names anonymous) ...

i heard there has been one wave of acceptances that have gone out, but nobody seemed to post them up yet.

Why can't they just reject us instead of waitlisting everyone and then having us call them? 👎

When/from whom did you hear this? I thought they would send out letters on March 15.

Soooo.... when can we start calling them and asking where we stand on the waitlist? 😀

it's all naysaying right now.

Just be patient, we're almost going to find out

CDU started releasing acceptances today. No idea if they are related at all but I'm hoping its soon! Hard to get excited for the med school I've been accepted to with this one pending...

Hi guys, I just interviewed yesterday. Just to clear a few things up, they told us that they had "sent out the first wave of acceptances very recently" (~1/3 of the matriculation #) They will be sending out 2 more waves of acceptances before the AAMC deadline of March 30 (the deadline for which med schools should have at least given out enough acceptances to theoretically fill their class). After that, it becomes more of a rolling process with people getting drawn off the waitlist alllllllll the way until first day of school (with the most movement occuring around May 15).

So, sit tight.... We're all in for an interesting ride since there's no rejections here after interview.

Oh yeah, and they mentioned that interviews will continue into april.......

sounds like I better check my P.O. these next few days...

Thank you, just want i wanted to hear! So if they send out enough acceptances by March 30, essential April interviews are for waitlist spots 🙁

1/3 and no one has posted about being accepted?

meh, maybe they sent it today?

Looks like its time to rush home and check my mail everyday and be disappointed/frustrated until I hear...

Also does anyone see anything on their application status page by the "Final Decision Letter"?

Nope. Do you? 😱 If you do, I would take it as an excellent sign, since it's my understanding that they only notify applicants of acceptances.
