What is going on- Im in-state, was verified 6/20, sgpa 3.9, cgpa 3.8, 38R and I haven't gotten any contact whatsoever. No "we got your amcas," no secondary, no nothing. Last name begins with H. Anybody else get no contact at all??

This, first of all, is adorable. Also, I love the Far Side 😉
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I'm OOS, average stats, and I got acknowledged on 7/13, and status updated (secondary invite) on 7/15.

That's not a bubble-burster at all! Given the two day gap it doesn't sound like an auto-secondary, but rather they are reviewing OOS people and granting secondaries already. Yay! 😀

I totally want to photoshop that into "AdCom at His Computer" with some poor neurotic premed walking under the piano. 😉

I submitted that day, but still haven't received any sort of update. I'm not really sure that I will, considering my status page just tells me that I won't hear anything further unless I get an interview invite.

I think you're supposed to get marked as either "Secondary Received" and then progress to "Complete", if it's going like last year. I seem to remember that they won't email you for either of those status changes, but will email you for interview invite. Last year some people had to call in order to get their status updated to "Complete".

Yeah, no contact here either. No news is good news...or at least better news than acknowledgment and no secondary🙂

Got a secondary invite!!! Woohoo!!! UCSF is my dream school!! 😍

Didn't think I'd get an invite: 3.99 cGPA, 28M, CA resident.

And... it's really funny, but I got the email at 9:30pm HAHAHAHA... guess there's something to that.

I finally got verified 7/21 at 1pm, received the invite 7/22 at 9:30pm.

What are you guys putting down for the: "If you wish to update or expand upon your activities, you may provide additional information below" question? I don't really want to repeat anything on my AMCAS... the only thing I'm thinking of mentioning is that I'm a second author on a publication in submission for my research (but it's not yet accepted). Worth mentioning? Usually for an optional essay, I write about my strange journey from community college to the university (it's rather complicated). Would that be okay to write about, or do they just want to hear about activities only?

I feel ya. I have around the same stats as you. OOS but I go to school in cali at least. Wish that counted for something 😛. I did get the acknowledgement email last night though...Here's to hoping

bpost137: I think they really just want activity updates, so the publication in progress maybe, but hold off on the diversity essay. I'm thinking I'll just write one or two really brief updates.

Some people are having a delay, which suggests human review. But so far most who have gotten secondaries this early are in the insta-secondary crowd.

My theory about this is that it takes a few hours after they receive your app for them to approve your secondary. If it happens before 9:30pm both emails get swept up by the cron job, otherwise you have to wait a day for the next cron job iteration to pick it up. I think some people here got their secondary invite a day after their login email.

Same here. Just got the first email last night...but I guess with 40Q up there I'm pretty much screwed lol...maybe the vocal performance major will help my measly 33Q

You can call them if you want for peace of mind, but I'm pretty sure they just haven't gotten to it...

hey all, i was just wondering what to put for the optional essay of expanding or updating upon activities. I have two possible answers to put but don't know which one is better. Should I put one about how I started a new volunteering experience or should I put one about playing a sport and how it relates to medicine?

I'm with you, got the first email but not the second. not sure why some people get instant secondaries and some don't, but it's not a big deal.

Hi everyone, I received the "your verified AMCAS application has been received" email from UCSF on the 7/13 and just got the secondary last night (7/27, 9:30pm). If you don't get the secondary request right away, don't worry! It'll come 🙂 I am in-state too btw.
