Hey everyone! Just interviewed at Peoria today and had a great time. I can't believe someone at that other poster's interview date said it's not worth it to go there out-of-state...Everyone when I was there was super positive about the idea. Anyway if 20% of the student body is OOS it's obviously worth it to a large percentage of people.

That being said I'm still banking on my state school in terms of being my main interest and just being a heck of a lot cheaper. Still though it was fun and a big confidence booster.

I withdrew post interview. Decided on Rush because the prices were nearly the same and I didnt want to risk the chance of not being in Chicago. Good luck to you though:luck:.. I've been rooting for you this whole process ! 🙂
 
@PhDthenMD= Thanks! I will definitely reapply again if I don't get in here. I hear that it makes a huge difference if you apply early.

@Fishsticks= Congrats on Rush! I know a couple of my friends that are going to be there next year. I hope you all love it!

agreed......5 weeks has been long enough of a wait, wish everyone luck!

Also, do status updates only occur today, or do people see them on Friday and Monday as well? Thanks for any info, and Good Luck :luck:

Everyone else: This is my first committee meeting! I can't imagine waiting longer than that. 👎 Actually, I probably can. I've been sitting on another "better than a waitlist" waitlist since November. 🙄 :xf::luck:To us:luck::xf:
 
now i am wondering whether or not they are even meeting today.....this process blows haha..... no update here.

No status change and my sunchips just got stuck in the vending machine. I'm going to try to occupy myself for at least an hour and then come back and check. This is the weirdest day of my life.
 
Still no change. Decision pending since I interviewed in November. 🙁
 
No status change...checked yesterday and today. 🙁 I interviewed in February and this is my second committee meeting. Why don't they just tell us??!!

I will probably continue checking today. Goodluck to everyone else!
 
No change. Altough I had the most horrific nightmare you can possibly imagine about it being "decision mailed" with no tab. I had to force myself awake! I was already becoming hysterical in my dream! Oh man. 👎 Please please let there be some good news for at least ONE of us on here today. :xf:
 
I think its really strange that nobody had any status change...maybe its wishful thinking.

Regardless, being neurotic, I called COM today but the lady didnt give me any news. She said that she had no idea when they met, if they had met and only that they meet once a month.

Back in February, there were status updates the friday morning following between 8-11... Just adding some fuel to the fire :laugh:

No update so far, I wonder if they're meeting in the last Thursday of the month. Will we get an email if they reviewed our application this month?
 
Based on previous posts we should be getting an email saying the adcom has met.

Im hoping that they are meeting next thrusday and i think this week may be spring break (at least it is for UIUC). Who knows..and the wait continues.
 
Well...the UIC COM only has a 2 day spring break, which was last week (I think). But...I would rather wait a week for good news than get bad news today.😉 I would really love to not get an email from Linda!:xf:
 
I didn't think faculty took a spring break. Well there is one more Thursday this month...if my boss were here I could ask him to ask someone when the meeting is...but no...I guess at this point I'm just hoping for no hold email. *sigh*
 
Spring break is this week, but last year they (apparently) pushed back adcom meeting to during spring break due to match day. I thought they would have it during spring break this year, but this year there are 5 Thursdays in March, so maybe it's next Thursday. I would suppose that no email (on Monday?) means adcom is next Thursday.

Believing that I have some idea of when I'm going to get an update makes me feel better.

I have a friend that goes to UIC-COM and he said that their break was actually two weeks ago. Either way, you're probably right about the meeting being next Thursday at this point.

Champaign is on break this week. The adcom meetings are comprised of staff members from each campus.
 
I think some of you are confusing the UIC undergrad schedule with ours. They are on spring break this week, but we are on a different schedule. There isn't a spring break for the Chicago campus...M1s got 2 days off after midterms a couple of weeks back. I think the M2s got 2 days off after there midterms as well, but they were not during the same time period. Champaign follows a different schedule which includes a spring break. Either way, the offices were still open after our exams. Hopefully you all will see status changes sometime today. :xf:
 
No News!🙁 They all get off of work in an hour so I am guessing it is not happening today.

Ya, I think what the earlier post said that the Champaign campus is on break and they usually do a teleconference with all campuses to make decisions. im hoping hoping hoping that they are going to meet next week!
 
So who is on the Urbana/Peoria/Rockford track for the entering class of 2011?
 
Anyone try to activate access to the portal and get an error message? I received an email saying my award letter was ready for review with my UIN, but it's not working 😕
 
Officially withdrawing my spot.

OOS and I have 2 IS acceptances and 3 other acceptances, I thought this would give me some leverage for some grants/scholarships esp. since my need is high.

They're nuts if they thought I was going to really pay $94,000+ for M1.

Who at UIC did you talk to about grants/scholarships?
 
So my status changed today which should clarify the question of when did the AdCom meet (I interviewed March 9th so this was the first round of AdCom meetings I was eligible for).

Whoever picked up the phone at UIC in the Financial Aid Office. I just asked if it was possible to get my award letter revised for some scholarships and grants. She said if the award letter was sent, it was basically final. So yeah...whatever, I think this is pretty unfair considering my high financial need and diversity. C'est la vie

Wow! What did it change to if you don't mind me asking? Mine is still decision pending, interviewed March 10th.
 
Status change, w/ Additional Correspondence tab on the top: "A final decision was made on your application on 03-28-11. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

I interviewed on 2/23.

Just wanted to thank the people who post their updates on here. There are a lot of lurkers or people who join to check out other peoples' post history but have zero posts of their own. It's very helpful to know what's going on!! I am still decision pending, but I figured as much considering how many people they "hold" onto until the end and my less than enticing GPA.

cbrons: I believe someone posted that the final interview date was April 5th.
 
Just checked and still decision pending..... Interviewed in December. Come April, let's hope the 5th meeting is the charm 🙄
 
I'm also decision pending. Interviewed end of November, so I'm also getting antsy! Here's to hoping for 5th's times a charm at the April meeting!!!

The last interview day is indeed April 5 (which is when I'm interviewing). There's also interviews in Rockford on the 31st, cuz when they called to invite me I had a choice between the two. And unlike all of you, I'm hoping they don't meet again before the 5th so I have a better chance! (which I don't think will happen because it seems like they meet monthly?)

I'll try to weasel some info during the interview and post accordingly.
