I think people started hearing back on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday around 1/20. So, it should be this week.

Sorry to hear, TacTown. I'm sure everything will work out in the end. Still nothing over here and it has been a while...any acceptances/other news?
 
Grr, Waitlist.

This was one of my top 2 choices school. Oh, well I got into the other one, so I'm happy.

Just got the wait list email myself. And similar story -- I really wanted to go. Interviewed 1/14.

I interviewed the same day. We probably said stuff to each other. Weird to think about.

Yeah, haha small world. Where were you accepted? I'm still waiting to hear back from Stony Brook, but I'm not getting too excited. I felt like my UR interview went better...we will see.

Congrats on that! And no sense in giving up yet. People do come off the waitlist at Rochester. It doesn't move as much as many places, but it does move.

I'm a 3rd year at Rochester and I actually just responded in your UVa vs. Rochester thread, so check there if you haven't yet! If you have any other questions (or anyone else for that matter) let me know! I'm on a rotation right now so I might not be super quick to get back to you, but I'll do my best to pop in often!

It actually said high wait list in the letter:

"Currently, our list of accepted applicants is over-subscribed. However, I am writing this letter to inform you that you currently are at the top of Rochester's Wait List. If our admissions process unfolds as in past years, I fully expect that you will be offered an acceptance into the Class of 2015, and should hear from us by early May. While I cannot guarantee that you will receive an acceptance from Rochester, please know that I would not be sending you this letter unless I thought otherwise."

Interesting, that seems like a personal message rather than a standard e-mail. Sounds like you should be getting into Rochester soon.
 
That message does sound very promising and personal. Was it from Dr. Hansen? After reaching out to him when I was notified that I had been waitlisted he informed me that I am in the upper level of the waitlist.
 
Does anyone know that chances of getting off the waitlist here? Or how many students get off the waitlist each year?

Any info on waitlist movement is greatly appreciated.

Hey guys,

Anyone from the Boston area going to University of Rochester's second look weekend on Friday 4/29 then going to BUs on 4/30? It's going to be tough to drive 7 hrs on Thursday then 7 hrs back on Friday and it might be nice to split the driving with someone. PM me if you want to drive up.

If not...are there any relatively cheap ways of getting to Rochester from Boston? Seems like everything is in the $150-$250 range.
 
Does Rochester fix its tuition or does it increase yearly? If it increases yearly, does anyone know the percentage of increase? Thanks!
 
I was rejected from the wait list last week and was wondering if anybody else had been as well or heard of schools rejecting wait listed candidates before the summertime.

I thought it was strange to receive a wait list rejection before the May 15th traffic deadline....

Has anyone received any sort of financial aid offers? Any grants or scholarships? I will not receive mine until after May 15th and I am wondering if they have much to give..

Were you admitted from the waiting list or regular admissions? Rochester is known to provide their students with decent financial aid packages depending on your specific need. The information that we received in our interview packets mentioned many students receinve ~25,000 in aid. I was also told that regardless of your admit date there will always be aid. Hope this helps.
 
If you looking at specifics, I received a little more than 12,000 in scholarship.

Today is the big day for declining multiple acceptances. I hope it works out in our favor. Please post any acceptances from the waiting list. :xf:

still waiting here...anyone know if the waitlist will even move at all this year?
 
Talked to dean post-May 15. He said there won't be much WL movement (at least, he told me that, because now that May 15th has come and gone, it must be apparent that my part of the waitlist is too high to have any hope).

i haven't...maybe one of us should? i'm out of the country for 2 more weeks and i'd really like to know if there's any hope for us.
