Seems like the wait list sea is pretty quiet. Anyone heard some news?

I'm on the waitlist as well and hoping there is a lot of movement this year. I want to get into Keck so bad. I bet there has been movement that is not posted on this forum. Seems like this Keck forum has been more quiet compared to the other school threads.

I think this thread is so dead because the accepted students are talking on the Google and Facebook groups a lot. I have my fingers crossed for you waitlisters (especially my interview day buddy, hydro!)

i know this wont really give me much info, but i'm just curious if anyone accepted can tell me how many people are in the google group for accepted students? Kind of hoping there are a few spots left and the adcom is just reviewing apps for those spots.

Well I think the admissions committee has extended offers to fill the class entirely, so the facebook group size probably reflects the number of seats for the MS-1 class. However, I've seen one person get accepted off of a waitlist every few days and drop their USC acceptance, so even though the rate right now is a bit slower, there's still hope! I know this isn't what you asked for, but a few people in the facebook group aren't actually incoming med students, so I figured this would be more helpful.

Hi all,
I sent my withdrawal in last weekend so there should be at least one spot opening in the class. I never got a response from the admissions office so I'm not sure if it's policy not to respond to withdrawals or if they just have so much mail that they haven't gotten to my letter yet. If I don't hear back in a couple days I'll follow up to make sure they know my situation.
I don't know whether they've already offered that position up to somebody else or if they will in the near future, I just wanted to give you guys some hope as I know how difficult it is to wait without knowing anything. I especially would like for one of you SDNers to earn that spot, so I see the positive reaction 🙂

Thanks for the info, its good to know there is waitlist movement, since I'm probably not at thw top of the list.

I know of another accepted student who formally submitted his withdrawal of acceptance today to USC in order to attend another school. So there is still hope for those who are waiting! Keep your chins up. 👍👍👍

On the same boat with the waitlisters. Sad knowing that they could accept all the way into first day of class. This has been confirmed by MD/PhD committee member. Would love to go to Keck and join some friends. 🙁

I don't recall exactly everything, but I do know that you don't need your USC e-mail to access the financial aid stuff. I'm fairly certain we don't get our e-mail address until within a week or so of August 8th. You'll need to create a new account in the system using four student ID (which should have been provided to you in an e-mail about financial aid). I'm pretty sure that's what I did when I applied, anyway 🙂

i know. I'm on the waitlist and I can't believe how slow movement is. I called earlier but I got a pretty vague answer. Does anyone have any more info on movement or if they expect spots to open up?

Hey coolgurl, I haven't seen anyone leave or join the facebook group lately, so waitlist movement is understandably slow. I don't think anyone (even the admissions committee) can give you a definitive answer on what's happening with the waitlist because it's entirely dependent on students being accepted off of waitlists at other schools and deciding not to go to USC. Waitlist movement is slow at all schools at this point, so it's anyone's guess as to what will happen really.

Contracts guess there is still waitlist movement hopefully its not the last, hope more people accepted get into other schools so I have a chance of getting off the waitlist
