Just got an interview invite!! Im really excited, but I was wondering if I could have a quick run down of interview day schedule. I don't know too much about it at the moment! :luck::xf::luck::luck:

Congrats!!! Interview day starts at 9ish. They will do a presentation about the school and financial Aid. Then at 11 you will have your first interview. Between your first and second interviews they will give you a tour of the Health Science Campus and feed you. Finally you will either have your last interview at 1ish or 2ish.
Good luck 🙂
:luck:🙂

^ Congrats! they will send you a packet in the mail letting you know everything..
any one know how many spots left in the class?

when I interviewed on 3/24 they said that they have offered 190 acceptances for class of 175. He also saids they usually offer 250 to fill the class so there is a good chunk left.

Thanks everyone for the info and well wishes! I will be heading up there for April 25th. I will be leaving from Cleveland the Sunday before, so if anyone wants to carpool/share a hotel, PM me!

I seriously almost had a heart attack when I saw accepted 190. But if they do accept 250, there is HOPE!!! Good luck everyone 🙂

What happened to the fb page link on the previous page? Wonder why it was taken down...

What happened to the fb page link on the previous page? Wonder why it was taken down...

I took it down for several reasons:

-Nobody was joining the group
-Group structure on facebook has changed, and not in a good way. We probably need a page, instead of a group, but those are technically only meant to be opened by a representative of the institution
-For some reason the group could not be searched on facebook, which meant that only SDN users could find it (from the link I posted)
-Having the link here would've allowed people to link my SDN account with my facebook account. That requires me to be 100% PC in all of my posts, and it wasn't worth it if nobody was going to join.

If there's still interest in having some sort of facebook *something* for our class, I can continue to look into it.

When did you interview???

3/21... super late, but they said the wait would be the standard 4-6 weeks. Not sure if they'll be earlier since it's the end of the season...

Hey everyone! I just received my acceptance email a few minutes ago after being put on the alternate list late in February so all of those on the waitlist, there is hope. Good Luck everyone. :luck:

I'm not really familiar with the changes that Facebook has made to the group-organization - good or bad, but just to provide perspective, I can tell you that classes @ UTCOM for at least the past 3-4 years have had Facebook groups - they are very much useful in the beginning (a lot of people use them to learn about housing/find roommates/get advice from upperclassmen regarding books, etc...) and then periodically throughout the years.

I interviewed 3/31...i hope its shorter too. I really would like to know before graduation:xf:

Interest here!

Is Toledo having a second look event or did I already miss it? I'm 50/50 between UT and my state school and I need something to give me a push in either direction. Thanks.

Edit-I just called, and turns out that they don't do second look.

As you found out when you called, UTCOM has no official second look weekend. You can probably, however, set up an informal appointment to come back and take a look at the school. Also, if you have any specific questions, you can send them to me, and I can try to answer them for you.

I think you need to consider location of matching (ESP if u wanna do ur residency in a certain place...one school might have better connections), location of each school (comfort of living in the area and the proximity to family if that is important-I did my masters in Boston after having every single class with my twin sister since I was 5 and I can def say being away from family...even parents is harder than you think if you aren't used to it...and it will affect your studying...I learned that the hard way) and tuition....loans and interest rates are getting crazy and you have to consider if you can stomach more loans to be out of state...in the end, you will be a doctor regardless of where you go so just go where you are more comfortable.

After a long battle I have received my first medical school acceptance!!! 😀

Looking forward to going back o school 🙂

Are you IS or OOS...can you give us some profile info?

In state. Undergrad gpa 3.9 grad gap 3.7 mcat 29. Took mcat before so first wasn't good. Have A LOT of volunteer activities and working experience in med field. Really felt interviews went well. In fact have been in touch with the Cardio dr. that I interviewed with semi regularly...

Good job Mandy but actually, I was hoping to get the stats on DKLA, as he was accepted!🙂

Actually... I'm a girl 😳

And I don't think I was accepted because of my stats. My undergrad GPA was on the lower side, 3.4. I have a MS degree in biomedical science with a GPA of 3.5. My MCAT was also on the lower, and I'd rather not give an exact number.

Instead I think that Toledo liked my extracurricular activities and dedication to service. I also spent a year in clinical research and feel like I gained a good solid foundation of understanding/appreciation of the healthcare system and how research can impact health policy and keep practice at the highest standard of care. Most of my interviews at Toledo centered around these non-academic experiences.

Thanks to everyone for your congrats. I honestly feel so fortunate to have been given the opportunity! I am very excited to go to school and work my butt off 😀

Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Congrats! This really gives me hope that some med schools really do look for well rounded people and not just at the black and white stats (mine aren't the GREATEST either...). I'm really hoping to hear good news too...I interviewed on the 4th so maybe not too much longer??:xf:

Interviewed 03/24 received wait-list letter today.:xf::xf::xf:

I interviewed on 3/24 as well, and when I hadn't heard from them by Friday I called the Office of Admissions. Apparently they didn't get a chance to discuss me this past week, so I'm on the agenda for this Tuesday-- here's hoping!!!

I got placed on the alternate list, but I am sure I will get in 🙂 :xf:
~However, prayers are more than appreciated 🙂

Good luck to Bigz and DreamerEB, and anyone else on the alternate list. I was on it, and was accepted a week later! So, fingers crossed for you guys!

This gives me hope!!!
Thanks again. 🙂

Yeah, I was alternate listed after my interview and then received my acceptance a week later via email. Hang in there.

Congrats Dreamer!
I also interviewed on the 31st of March, but I still didn't get a response!!
The waiting is killing me lol
