I don't think it should be bad or effect what you will do (you should still submit it). They are not rolling and they have so many more things to look at than simply the date you submitted vs the date you received it.

Also, has anyone seen any updates on the status page? I submitted a while back and it doesnt show anything for letters received or MCATs received..They say the page is not updated in real time but still.

I was just about to post this question! My LORs were sent 3 weeks ago... And it still says they have not received them and I am not complete. Maybe they are just really behind...?

I submitted a week and a half ago, my LORs were in a week ago, and then I was marked as complete a few days later. My status says I am complete and under review.

mine says the same thign. i submitted mine about 2 weeks ago too

Wow! a lot of emails went out today. Congrats to all of you. I noticed that more than one person listed Yale as their undergrad, is that a common thread among the invites so far?
I was complete 6/29, just wondering when I'd hear from them 😍

I went to a UC for undergrad.

Congrats guys!! I am still waiting to be complete... Hopefully soon!!

are you md/phd?

you can see from his/her MDApps that s/he isn't ... which is good news for me because I am and haven't heard anything!

Until MSTPs start sending out interviews, I don't have to be worried that my inbox is as quiet as death itself :scared:

How long did it take you guys for your LORs to be marked as received?

I was complete 6 days after submitting (2 days after my LORs had been sent). My LORs were marked as being received the same day I was complete.

That's weird. My letters were sent to AMCAS on Wednesday, my secondary was sent way back in early July, and I'm still not marked as complete since my letters apparently haven't been received.

My letters were sent 3 weeks ago and mine is still not marked as received and complete... I think I am going to call tomorrow and see why.

That's bizarre, I have no idea why that would be. Don't worry though you will definitely get an interview here. I am expecting a rejection.... 😎

this is what I see as my status. It indicates all my stuff is in, but yet it does not mark me as complete....has this happened to anyone else?

That happen to me. I posted asking about it because it was that way for about two weeks and then the next day it changed to complete.

Hey guys, I didn't call about them not listing my letters as received this morning and I ended up looking at my status and saw that they posted it this morning as received on August 6th! And now it says I am complete and my file has been sent to the committee. You guys should also check your status to see if it has changed!

Congrats guys on the interview! Maybe I'll meet a few of you along the way this year. 🙂

My status changed this morning as well.

haha so did mine. I'm learning its best just to wait all these weird glitches out. When you check the status of these things multiple times a day, it makes it feel like a lot more time has passed than actually has.

Well put. Now I know why it feels like 3 years have passed. My beard was growing faster, too!

edit ***

application submitted 7/30. marked as complete and received on 8/10. really hoping for an interview here!

hey, i just wanted to get some opinions on the optional essay for yale. is it referring to a need to explain anything weird in your application (because in that case i don't think i would write anything), or should i put my diversity essay in? thanks!!

is any one else scheduled for the august 23rd interview, i decided to get it done then so i only miss the first few days of school. i'm flying in the day before. any one else doing this? it'd be nice to have someone else in the same boat:xf:

Interviewing here in a couple of weeks! Super super excited. How many people does Yale even interview?

Would you mind sharing your timeline (i.e., when you were complete and the date you were invited)?

As far as number interviews, it's in the MSAR but I don't have my copy with me...

I was complete August 6 (thanks to the slow-as-molasses premed advisor at my school that took forever to send out my LORS) and was invited August 9. Hella quick turnaround.

Yeah I'm sure it's in the MSAR but I don't have a copy. I'm le cheapskate extraordinaire.

Yale interviewed just under 1000 people last year out of about 5000. I can't find the numbers for how many were accepted but I think it was around 170 for 100 spots. So basically.....20% get interviewed, and then <20% get accepted. Tough numbers.

Wow, that is a fast turnaround. Congrats!

Gah...those are tough numbers...that's a ton of people to interview for not that many spots 🙁

At my interview last year, they gave us the following numbers for the entering class of 2009:

4081 applicants, 806 interviewed, 265 accepted.

So at least that year, there was a quite a bit more than 20% accepted post-interview, but I think these things vary every year depending on how much the waitlist moves.

WOW, almost 30% acceptance rate... I believe your chances are good once you attain an interview

But it doesn't all really matter... you have to sell your souls to the ADCOM gods... to get an interview, lol.... ask some of the folks above with the interviews, they'll tell you..."you are getting sleepy....sell your SOUL~!!!"

Those numbers are WAY better than the 2007 numbers (sorry, when I posted I forgot that my MSAR was a year old)...30% almost seems attainable🙂

You know it... I got complete 2 days ago and in review now, so I'm just hoping for that interview... 30%... I'll bake the ADCOMS a cake and hope it increases my chances to 40%. I now need to now what would get me to 90%...mmm dunno, lol.

Hehe... But I'm too cheap to buy that darn MSAR thing too though.. why buy when you can get the same information on that internet thingy...

 True🙂 I bought it way back before I had even heard of SDN.

There is some awesome guy out there who, in his signature, has a link to MSAR data in excel form, and it Rick Rolls you.....I fall for it every time and it makes me giggle like a 5 year old every time🙂
