Does anyone know if news of a waitlist would have been overnighted like acceptances? Perhaps silence at this point could still be waitlist...

According to last year's thread only
Acceptances were overnighted/priority mailed.

Not necessarily. . . I called the admissions office and they said it could also be next week. (aaahhhh!!)
 
I'm going to say a cautious yes given the sequence of events last year and what we have heard so far this year. Unless of course if you live in Canada 😛

When were the big envelopes postmarked? Feb 29 or Mar 1? My neighbor (in Boston) just received a priority mail package from Texas postmarked Feb 29 (nothing for me yet either way).
 
As asked above, anyone outside of New York get an acceptance mail?

Also, has anyone received a call from Dr. C. B.?
 
Has anyone been called by G L or has anyone who interviewed with him received a letter but no call?

As an aside, I called my interviewer back about something unrelated, and s/he mentioned to me that it was going to take a long-ass time for that package to arrive in Oregon...so s/he took it upon him/herself to call me. For the record, I was one of the few people who my interviewer interviewed.

I'm done. Really!

Then again, it looks like USPS is still doing Saturday delivery for Priority Mail packages. If packages went out yesterday, then it makes sense that only NYC area folks would have gotten them (<-- is this true?).

  • Delivery within 2 days in most cases
  • Saturday delivery and residential delivery at no extra cost
 
Congrats!

I swear I've checked this thread more times since being accepted than in the 8 months before. My guess is that you shouldn't give up hope without a letter until tomorrow. Unless you're in Canada. And at that point it seems like you have bigger fish to fry 😉.

I hope so! Although I don't know how much longer I can wait without going a little crazy... ok, a little craziER.

And it doesn't seem like all interviewers are making calls, nor does it seem like all those accepted are receiving calls. And I think the possibility of acceptance emails has fizzled....

It is 2012.... I think it would be much kinder and healthier for us all if they would have just sent us decision EMAILS. At least then we could all move on with our lives!

Tell me about it. I graduated in January, and made the mistake of not calling Columbia to tell them my new address. 👎 I never got around to doing it, since my other schools release decisions electronically. I figured I would already know my decision, and could wait a week for letter to be forwarded since it would just be saying what I already knew. Now I'm on the opposite coast from where my letter is being delivered 🙁

You should just update your AMCAS address. Most schools simply download your latest contact info just before they send out their communications.
 
Yeah, email should be the standard. Having said that I really appreciated the personalized phone call from my interviewer instead of one from the dean who I didn't meet for long or just an email. I enjoyed talking to my interviewer and it was good to hear from her again.
 
Has anyone on the west coast gotten a letter? Any waitlisters notified?
 
If anybody has gotten an acceptance call from Dr. F.E. please PM me. I'm in Canada and would rather not wait on our Postal service (ie. Dogsleds)
 
Got a call today AND a packet in the mail in MA. So excited, I can't stop smiling. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear!
 
Nice, congrats guys!

I'm guessing I didn't get in as I have gotten no calls nor a letter. I'll still have my fingers crossed for tomorrow's mail but it feels like somewhat of a longshot considering someone in Colorado already got their letter. If no news by tomorrow I will concede the L and move on to obsessing about Cornell lol

Yeah.. my thoughts exactly 🙁

But seems like there are quite a few people here that got calls and haven't gotten their letters yet.. and some people who have gotten letters but no calls. By logical deduction, I guess it's possible for some accepted people to have received neither yet. Could still come in the mail tomorrow I suppose or long shot Monday but very unlikely later than that unless you are Canadian.

I know someone who got the call yesterday and was accepted.

It was her first Acceptance so she was happy. To think her first acceptance is Columbia is pretty wild.
 
On the west coast + did not get a call or a packet today. Congrats to everyone who did!
 
I'm in Canada! I'm about to hop a plane for another Canadian interview. I'll just pray that when I get back there is mail!!!

That's awesome! I haven't been accepted anywhere either so I was hoping for Columbia to be my first too.. Was reallllly eager to finally be 'done' with the medical school application process. Not losing all hope with Columbia yet though (cmon tomorrow's mail..), but I feel really fortunate I still have 3 other schools to hear back from.

Good luck to everyone else in the same 'no call, no letter, but still have hope' boat as me.. hopefully we'll hear some good news tomorrow!

Shadeofgreen may I ask where you are going to? We interviewed at a lot of the same schools (Columbia, Harvard, WashU, Dartmouth...etc) . I am the same thing haha I am heading for UToronto this weekend 🙂
