Hi all,

I have an exceedingly dumb question. I really know this is stupid, but just in case it's not as awful as I'm pretty sure it is...

I know they said we have to submit the secondary in 4-6 weeks. I went through kind of hard burn out and some personal reflection and put a bunch of secondaries on the back burner that were far away from home. Ok, existential crisis over (and personal stuff dealt with), still want to go to med school badly. Whereever will take me.

Anyway, I received my secondary on 7/20 and today is 9/6. It's too late right?Should just save my $75?

Call them. Tell them your situation in a round about way. See if they will extend it.

Even if he gets it extended I don't think they will look at his application favorably. I would just save the 75 and move on with life to another secondary.

I remember someone asked this on a previous year's thread. They were able to submit fine. I'd still call to give them the heads up.

I am in a similar situation having received it on 7/21. I just called and they said you can submit up until the point that your secondary application is closed down.

Congrats!! (on the interview invite, not on the malaria 🙂 )

How long are people typically under review before they get a change to their status (hold/interview)? I just went under review yesterday.

I've been "under review" since 8/4...STILL under review...

Interview Invite this morning!

Was under review since early August. For those who have been under review for 3+ weeks, don't give up hope!

Does anyone know what size picture is the appropriate size to upload so that the image does not look squished from either side? I tried square, but it still looks this way. Thanks!

Congrats!!!! You're lucky, I'm hoping they make a decision with my file soon 🙂

Congrats on the new batch of interviews! We have had our first round come through this week and we are excited to have more. If any of you interviewed Wednesday I was the guy who gave you M&Ms, ha 😀.

Anyways, If you are out of town I HIGHLY suggest taking advantage of the student host program. It's cheap (free), we get free lunch 👍, it's a good chance to meet the people they let in here AND if you interview on a Friday we'll take you out with us afterward to and "explore" Chicago.

Anyways, just wanted to stop by again and say M1 hasn't killed me yet and make myself available for any Stritch-related inquiries.

Take care.

it is too late in the process to submit an amcas to loyola even if i don't have the best of grades or mcat score?

It's not too late. I was complete at the end of September and I wasn't even the last or had the lowest stats in my class. You don't score if you don't shoot 👍

Finally submitted today! I'm a Chicago Native currently living in Utah. Really hopin' for some love.

For anyone having trouble uploading a photo:
I called the office. You can only upload a photo if you use Safari or Internet Explorer.

Any gauge on how long from when you submit to when you go under review?

I definitely uploaded my photo last night in an older version of Firefox when I submitted.

Good luck! :xf:

Good to know. I guess nobody else uses Chrome. When I called admissions they told me that only safari/IE worked.

I submitted my secondary online on 9/1 and a few days ago, my status said something about my file being under review. Today, when I logged in, it had changed to "We have received your supplemental application. We ask that you please allow at least one month for downloading letters and completion of your file. Thank you."

It almost seems like I should have gotten today's status BEFORE the status stating my file is under review...did anyone else get a status stating the file is under review and then the status changed to allowing a month for downloading letters? I am so confused!

Also, did you guys get emails confirming a)receipt of your secondary and/or b) completion of your file?

I use Chrome. It works, except for the font colors on the left tab are hard to see.

It is amazing how many sites I have been to starting with the AMCAS and ending with all these secondaries that are so out-of-date.

Does anyone know how often they review your file when you are placed on hold?

"has been reviewed"
switched from "under review" today
guess I'm on hold, bummer.

Man, I'm about to send my secondary now. I guess I won't be hear back about an interview until November at best. Hope it's not too cold at that point in the Windy City. 🙄

I received THE wonderful phone call today! I sent in my secondary on 7/31 FYI. SO excited!!!!!

I'm sending mine in today too, so I'm in the same boat:xf:

I had an unbelievable time at Loyola; the admissions staff was great, the students were fun, and my interviewers were amazing. The hospital was beautiful too. :xf:

That is good to hear. I am really looking for an interview here now that I am finished with my in-state interviews.

Absolutely. I don't think anyone could be disappointed by this school. Hopefully you'll hear from them soon!

That's good to hear 👍. What was the environment of your interview? I can't believe you already interviewed and I'm still under review 😱

The environment was very laid back in an office setting. It was very conversational and they definitely attempted to make me feel at ease. The interviews were just as enjoyable as the tour and interacting with students. I can't imagine you not getting an II here, though. Hopefully it will come soon!

+1 but hopefully it all went well steve!
Thanks! I hope so too.

I also interviewed at Stritch. Overall, it was a very fun day. The interview is more of a chat than what I assumed to be a medical school interview. They really want to know about you and how you will fit in at Stritch. I was asked about a whole range of things from what my favorite movie was to why I wanted to be a doctor. The students are all awesome! They were all super helpful and I could tell Loyola really has a special community. I know from reading other threads about Stritch everything I just wrote sounds super cliché, but it really is true.

I don't know if this was unique, but I sat in on a MCBG class and a small group session. That was really awesome and for the folks who have yet to interview, my advice would be to try and sit in on one of those.

I was told the first "batch" of acceptances will be sent out on October 14th. So, it looks like we should be looking for a letter in the mail around then!

Hey guys,

So I got my mcat scores Aug 30, and I haven't received an official supplemental yet (even though I already finished doing it). The admissions guy said the advisor looking at my file is on vacation and will be back in a week, and my stats aren't that amazing 29Q 3.87 cGPA, 3.79 sGPA, do you think its basically to late to have a shot here since they haven't even received my supplemental yet?

no

Got Invite!

Congrats!!
If you don't mind me asking, when were you complete?
Thanks, and good luck!:luck: I feel like I have been with the committee forever, and it is starting to become unnerving. I will hope that no news is indeed good news lol.

Intive 🙂🙂 scheduled it for the day after a different interview 5 hours away. Hope im not too interview hung over

I have a question.

I'm a non-trad applying to Stritch and they say on the website that they require 3 undergraduate LORs. I haven't been in undergrad since 2004. I don't think half my professors are even at that institution anymore although I would have to check.

I'm going to call them tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me.
