I have not seen a UCLA PRIME program thread so I decided to create one. I received my secondary back in August. From what I have read on other threads, the IIs do not go out until January and the interviews are usually in February and March.

Here are my stats:
IS, 3.88 postbac GPA, 3.2 cumGPA, 31Q (11VS 11PS 09BS)

Hopefully they find my profile interesting! 🙂 Good :luck: to everyone!

Btw, mind posting the secondary questions? Thx!

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think we're gonna get secondaries. I heard all secondaries need to be in by November and they give you a month to complete them. Since it's mid-October, I'm not sure if any more will be sent out.

This is from their website:

When is the last day UCLA PRIME will send out supplemental application invitations? December 1, 2011

Here they are! They are all a max of of 2000 characters.

Essay Question #1: What is the most important health care issue confronting disadvantaged communities and what would be your first steps to address this issue?

Essay Question #2: In what way will graduating from the UCLA PRIME program enhance your career in health care or health services for the disadvantaged communities?

Essay Question #3: Describe the manner in which your experiences
demonstrate your understanding of, and commitment to, underserved communities.

Essay Question #4: What are your greatest strengths and your greatest challenges as you approach medical school?

Zamzee... Perhaps you should change your profile pic from a sad little pug to a joyful and vibrant golden retriever. I just received a secondary so don't lose hope. It's not over 'til it's over.

Thanks for this! And sorry to all the people I misled - I won't speak so early next time. I deleted my post.

Haha thanks. I thought the pug was super cute, and I definitely spoke too soon. Congratulations on your secondary!

anyone know the number of people that apply, secondaries given, interviews, and acceptances?

thanks 🙂

I found this from a few years back...

1000 primaries
200 2ndaries
80 interviews

18 admitted (guessing 2x for acceptances, so probably 40 acceptances)
10 Geffen
4 UCR
4 Drew

Thank you!

Interview invites didn't go out until mid to late January for the 2010-2011 cycle. You have to be patient as they thoroughly review all applications. I didn't get into to Prime, but managed to get into CDU (which works out great for me). And so you know, interview is MMI, but we cannot talk about it. I will say that it is not as awful as the Davis MMI. Good luck!

my application was just marked received yesterday. anyone hear anything about interviews yet?

how long did it take to get that received notice?

edit: Nevermind! I just checked it and I got it too. Sorry for monopolizing this thread.

Was happy to recieve that secondary. Looking forward to interview if offered one. I havent done MMI interviews yet at any of the schools Ive been to so this should be a fun change up. Wishing everyone luck

Just received this email from UCLA Prime Office. Thought that all of us crazies that are waiting on any type of communication would appreciate this.

Dear UCLA PRIME Applicant,

Thank you for submitting a supplemental form to the UCLA PRIME program, and congratulations again for advancing to this step. We are in receipt of your completed form, and all applications have been moved to the UCLA PRIME Admissions Committee for evaluation.

After supplemental forms are reviewed, applicants who are selected to proceed to the interview process will be called by the UCLA PRIME office before January 9th, 2012, and extended an invitation to interview. Interviews will be held on Saturday, January 28th, Saturday, February 25th, and Sunday, February 26th, 2012, from 8:00 AM to approximately 5:00 PM each day. 26 applicants will interview each day, with 2 sessions per day and 13 applicants per session.

Those who are invited to interview will be called at random to schedule them. Please note that no matter which of the three days you hold your interview, the UCLA PRIME admissions committee will only review files once all 78 candidates have completed their interviews.

If you are invited to interview, you will be sent an article describing the Multiple-Mini Interview (MMI) process, so that you can be familiar with the necessary background information for the MMI and information specific to your interview day.
Please feel free to respond to this e-mail if you have any questions about the next steps. The UCLA PRIME Admissions Committee looks forward to reading your supplemental forms, and we hope that each of you has a wonderful holiday season and new year.

Best regards,

UCLA PRIME

Relative to other MMIs I've done, it was a little bit more challenging but still not that bad. I'm not permitted to elaborate anymore on the MMI but I'll say that the lunch was pretty bomb.

Did they say decisions will be given out by march 21st?

Anyone know when they will be sending out rejection letters? I was put on the interview wait list awhile back but it seems very unlikely I will hear back....
