Wait. I'm a little confused. If we get accepted from here on out, OBC is this summer or next summer?

Correct me if I'm wrong but from my understanding, if you are accepted between now and OBC, you are going. If after OBC starts, I believe you have to complete it at some other point in time.

I never got the quarter thing with regards to usu. Is that a specific date or you mean as in where they are on the WL movement?.. I know that other schools haven't even begun WL movement based on ppl's calling into the admissions office and getting a direct response that they won't start the movement until next week.

Lol hey buddy so long as you're in it to win it- I'm right behind ya! 👍

Some schools don't rank their WL'ers but inform them of what quartile they're in, and continue to keep WL'ers posted as to what quartile they've started pulling people from- lol think that's where we forked

P.S. Us USUHS WL'ers aren't agonizing alone as misery loves company!- My peers tell me they're frantic about WL movement at their WL'ed schools, especially since they haven't even started movement.

Perhaps the reason for so many army waitlisters posting here is that Navy and Airforce guys are just way more laid back and don't worry about the waitlist as much/ posting on SDN.

Or, we are screwed.

I can confirm that it's too late to process orders for the normal BOLC. Army will attend a crash course equivalent at USUHS. That course starts on July 30th.

Dr. Calloway called this afternoon to offer me a conditional acceptance in the Navy. I'm still feeling a mix of shock, relief, and euphoria.

Details for those interested: Interviewed Jan. 19, Waitlisted mid-March. Changed from Navy (1st choice) to "no preference" shortly after being waitlisted. Sent several update letters to USUHS over the past 2 months.

Good luck to all those still on the waitlist. Keep up hope!

Have all you waitlisters sent in update letters, and/or letters of interest? When I finished O Chem Lab, I wrote to tell them my prereqs were finished, and I ended with a "I also wanted to express my continued interest in matriculating with the 2012 first year class." When they responded with my acceptance, they began their letter with an acknowledgement of that statement....

Hey, just a heads up.

They sent me acceptance forms 2 hours after the phone call. They were sent as jpeg images and I had 24hours to figure out how to fax them or print, sign, scan, and email them. I did it the latter but it was annoying.

An applicant was accepted to Wisc. so she turned down her accptance to UM for a higher priority acceptance but now wants her acceptance at UM she turned down, back. And she's straight up calling the UM adcom less than flattering comments when adcoms do check SDN... Oh man I got a crack out of this one- it'll keep me over for the weekend I figure based on EARG's breakdown of the week-to-quarters, the weekend is for resting and lightening up. Poor fiance of hers... left with the shopping-cooking-laundry. I feel for the girl in some very little way but the way she's delivering her case is something less to be said...

I also live in Cali...don't know if it has to do with where I sit on the waitlist or how many people accepted their offered seat or what. I'll prObably call them on Tuesday..,it didn't seem like a rejection but more of a "you should reapply just in case" letter since amcas opens in a week.

Also for those considering reapplying the letter had in big bold caps NOT to use the same essays but to rewrite everything

This whole situation is very perplexing... when I talked to the adcom this mid-week they said they wouldn't be sending out those letters until the end of June, which was also when last year's WL'ers said they started getting them. I wonder what the deal is with this particular year::::

I've been monitoring other med school threads and some schools have sent out they wouldn't be touching their WL this year since they had an unforeseen situation where they over matriculated students--- while other schools aren't even looking into WL movement for another 2-weeks--- and in another instance, some schools are already on WL no.50...

Side note::: USU does save your letters of recommendation so no need to hustle those, but they do require at least one new clinical or academic letter.

Gah I wish they emailed me mine! I've seriously been waiting since the beginning of May for mine to show up, but I just called to double check today since I received orders by email. They said they should show up in the mail by the end of this week lol
