My guess is that we will be waiting until the next acceptance date. Hopefully I am wrong though!!

Well someone called them at the beginning of the week and they said late this week they'd be releasing....I'm hoping for tomorrow.

:xf:i've been checking this thread prior to opening my email all week.

For those interested: exactly 95 people have been accepted thus far. Should give a rough idea of how many more they may accept.

👍 thanks for the info. Looks like they accept 12-15 per round then. They'll accept approximately 30-60 more, I guess

I called yesterday again to see if they were still on track to send out another round of acceptances this week and was told that they were hoping to. Would someone else mind calling to see if that's still the case? (I think I've called too many times at this point.)

Only 5 more hours we could potentially have to wait! 😱

I believe that the next acceptance date is next Friday, not today.

So 2/17 ?

The last acceptance date I wrote from my interview was 2/20, and then 3/2 for the waitlist/rejections (not sure if there will be acceptances on this date).

It is getting really close to the end, I was going to write a letter of interest if i didn't hear back this week, just in case..... Anyone know the procedure for sending letters? (email: attached or typed in-body, or regular mail)

I attached a letter of interest in an email and that seemed to work just fine. I got a response (almost immediately) saying the letter was added to my file.

Next release date is 2/20, and 3/2. 3/2 will announce more accepted applicants, waitlisted applicants, and rejected applicants. They are indeed behind and acknowledged that they are trying to send out more acceptances today, if possible.

Just curious, did you address the dean or the committe? Did you contact anyone that interviewed you prior to writing- if so who, given the MMI format? And was it basically 1 paragraph long? I was just searching SDN for LOI advice and found this post, but perhaps this advice is out-of-date...

I would strongly caution any of us from following this advice! I'm embarrassed that this is considered "advice", quite honestly. I can't imagine calling the DEAN - most of us are scared to even call the admissions office!! We'd look crazy if he began spamming and would probably be put on some "DO NOT" admit list.

agreed 👍 lol

I used "Dear Admissions Committee" and wrote two paragraphs. One paragraph was actually an update and the second paragraph was a reaffirmation of my interest in the school. Not an LOI exactly -- I never said anything like "I will go there if I am accepted"

I didn't contact any of the interviewers at Phoenix -- however, anecdotally, I contacted one of my MMI interviewers in Tucson just to say thank you for your time and I was accepted. I'm 99.9% sure it made NO difference whatsoever but I guess it shows it didn't hurt my chances.

I interviewed 1/30, and someone asked if we could still send letters to be added to our files, she said before the 5th when our application went out for final review, after that they made it sound pointless....

Also, they told us 2/17 and 3/02 were the only rounds we were eligible for, but then again, I guess the 2/2 date changed so why not that one as well...

One more thing, other than a few changed dates, this is one of the most efficient and well run admissions offices I have worked with (and unfortunately I have worked with many over a few cycles), I hope this is a reflection of how we will be treated as students...on that note, even though people say 2/20, I will be checking obsessively on 2/17, and I am sure the majority of you will as well...

:xf:+:luck:

I see, they must have changed the dates around- I wrote 1/2, 1/30, 2/6, 2/20, and 3/2. So, if there is only 2/17 and 3/2 left, are we positive no acceptance were given for 1/30 and 2/6?

I had the same dates written so I guess they realized they were a bit behind and pushed it back. I dunno if they gave acceptances these last two rounds and the office isn't responding anymore... I think I'll give them a call Monday

Yea, it is 2/17. I heard that if you don't hear anything on 2/17, you will receive a final decision whether you are waitlisted or rejected on 3/2 for sure.

Hmm, when I asked today, she said the next acceptance date is 2/20 and 3/2. 3/2 will also give away the waitlisted and rejected status

This is what they told us when I interviewed on the 6th.

I guess they pushed the date back from 2/17 to 2/20.
I don't think it ever was the 17th. I interviewed in late September and the dates they told us were always on Mondays, except for 3/2

It's definitely the 20th not the 17th. If you're accepted, you'll get an email on the 20th. If you don't hear back, then on the 2nd you'll find out if you've been rejected or waitlisted.

Does anyone know if they will accept an LOI tomorrow to be added to my file? I know the deadline was last week but I still want to get an LOI in there if possible.

does anybody know how many they interviewed?

wow, and ~90ish acceptances so far. Any idea of how many more acceptances will be given- with one more date, that would imply ~12-15 more?

Well there are two more acceptance dates...02/20 and 03/02. Don't most schools usually end up accepting almost 2x their actual class size?

Did you get around to calling? Any news?

Erin says that we've got two more rounds, 2/20 and 3/2. The 3/2 date includes both acceptances and wait list. Here's to hoping 😀

Anytime I called last week I was told that they were "running behind" and had not sent out any acceptances on those two dates. Erin would always say they were hoping to send a batch out by the end of last week. So it makes me a little nervous to hear that now it seems as though they're skipping those two dates and moving right on to 2/20. Can anyone shed any light here? I too have been calling today but can't seem to get a hold of anyone.

The same amount of acceptances will go out regardless of when they send them. 2/20 and 3/2 will be heavier if they've skipped two dates. One way or another, they need a class of 80 matriculated students.

^^ that would be logical, but some official confirmation would be nice.

Even though Monday is President's Day, I wonder if they will be in the office to send out acceptances?

Actually when I was there on the final interview day (this past Monday) the date they had for the next acceptances was indeed 2/20. Not that I'm actually eligible for that one. I guess we'll see.

President's Day is not a holiday for the University, which is unfortunate for those of us who work there and fortunate for those of us who are waiting to hear back!

Sweet! Well then I'm stoked for Monday, but sorry for those of you who work that day, you'll make the Presidents proud.
