II this AM. I am so excited this is my top choice, I can barely contain myself!

Congrats! What dates do they have available for interviews now? I got an invite at Tucson last week and I'm trying my best to see if I can an invite at Phoenix. Are you OOS or IS?

II here this morning, too. I got it early and I was so jazzed I couldn't fall back asleep! This is my top choice, too. Kind of shocked too, since I was complete way back in July and hadn't heard anything. There were a bunch of available interview dates in January, the earliest being January 9th.

So, I've tried to call them a couple of times, but I always get voice mail. Is this normal?

I am pretty sure they interview on Monday's. The day involves everyone in their office (at least that was true when I was there).

IS sGPA ~3.6 MCAT ~30. Lots of spots available all through January. Best of luck🙂

Similar stats (GPA a little lower here) and OOS. They interviewed me last year- I wish they'd just reject me already if they don't want me. I really loved this school though. Good luck!

Does anybody know if they accept application updates? I always get voicemail when I've called

Yeah! I sent an update via email last week and they responded saying that the information had been added to my file. This was post-interview but I don't see why they wouldn't take pre-interview updates.

The available interview dates are mostly late January and early February when I had to choose one.

Does anyone know how much the class is full? Just for my curiosity.

Its hard to know. In my interview group they told me they would take around 10 people per 3 interview groups. Each group I would assume had around 20 people? Tara (director of admissions) told us that they generally try to accept twice as many students as the class size. I was accepted here in late October. Def one of my top choices. What happens here is they ask you whether or not you want to retain your spot, withdraw, or immediately matriculate. I believe interviews run till March so anyone that has an interview so far, I would imagine, stands a decent chance. The new class size of 80 definitely will make your odds better. I can't wait to see the new health sciences building when its completed. I haven't read any of the other posts but just in case you didn't know, they do rolling admissions at PHX and pretty much send out a round of decisions every 2-3 weeks I wanna say? Best of luck and hang in there.

Thanks for the helpful side info! Just for the curiosity, how did you prepare for the MMI?

Thanks for the helpful side info! Just for the curiosity, how did you prepare for the MMI?

If anyone tells you that you can't prepare for the MMI, they are full of it. While it is unlikely that you will be able to predict any of the scenarios that they ask, nor should you try, they do ask traditional questions and knowing the answers to these can be extremely helpful. Know answers to questions like, "what kind of qualities do I have" or "why do I want to be a doctor." I prepared for my MMIs by first practicing with a friend and printing off a list of ridiculous traditional interview questions. It really got my gears turning when my buddy would ask "how do you think people will dress in a hundred years?" The goal of this is to get your mind going and thinking about topics. With that skill in your pocket, you will be able to nail any scenario they give. Be flexible and thoughtful! The interviewers understand you won't be making a formal debate on a topic and please don't try. They just want to see your thought process and if you're comfortable enough discussing your ideas with another human being. Surprise! docs actually have to talk to people! If possible, slip in ideas that show how you would make a good doctor ex: you are compassionate, love science, or whatever your interests for pursuing medicine are. I would recommend avoiding talking about medicine directly. Another key way to prep for the MMI is to just be yourself! No one can tell you who you are and just by looking at the prompts they give you, you should automatically have an opinion about it. Take that opinion and run with it. Most importantly, have fun! Tara and Jeff told us this multiple times during my interview but I didn't believe them. In the end, its not as bad as it seems and it really was lots of fun! Good luck!

I appreciate your thoughtful and insightful tips!!

OOS called in today and they said I was still under review...is that the "we're not telling you anything until march" response? Hopefully can still get a II :xf:

Acceptances tomorrow for those of us who interviewed on 11/14...fingers crossed.

Hopefully there will be something soon, I'm tired of gasping every time my email pops up with junk.

Looking back it looks like one acceptance came in the morning and on another day they were late afternoon. It could be anytime.

that is a good observation...keeping my hopes up too! The last release date was pretty disappointing, only one person posted something about hearing back. I am hoping more people hear back today but the fact that thanksgiving was last week makes me think they could be behind a little

I got an email this morning with a creative congratulations ... accepted. Interviewed on 11/21. Hope that is not bad news for those who haven't heard yet. ... I enjoyed the interview day. I was impressed with a well-thought-out curriculum (love the capstone thing) and liked the new facility under construction. The admissions staff was great. Only drawback - Phoenix isn't my ideal destination. ... Will see.

Congrats to you! Hmmm, I guess if they released this morning, I must not be hearing back this time around.

I haven't heard yet today still but congrats either way 🙂 I interviewed on 11/7 and really liked the interview day too. Phoenix is one of my top choices so I am a little bummed out but still hopeful. I think I am just impatient lol

That's my problem too....I'm too impatient to wait for an acceptance. Well, good luck to both of us! The next release date is the 19th, so maybe we'll hear back then.

Interviewed on the first day; wonder if there is any hope for those in a similar situation:scared:

I have hope for all of us....I really think there is no perfect formula as to how they pick people and when 🙂

Any news? I interviewed in October and I am a bit worried. I hate this waiting!

Congrats! Out of curiosity, are you willing to share your stats/experience?

Got the e-mail around 8am.

Interviewed 10/31 - so, there is hope for those who have not heard in the first cycle since their interview.

For others, at what time did you receive your e-mail?

Good to know....maybe there's still hope for me!

10/31 and accepted here as well!!!!! Really excited about this one!

What time did you receive the e-mail? I just want to confirm because I still can't believe this is all real . . .

So after the video acceptance email ... what do they send?

The snail mail letters were the nicest I've received - they were even personalized with comments from interviewers and application highlights. I was really impressed.

Yes, they were such a nice touch! And so in line with my general impressions of the admissions staff here...organized, transparent, and friendly. My experience with them has been positive from the very beginning. 🙂

First, let me say congratulations to those of you who have been accepted! It must be incredibly exciting to have heard back so early in the interview season.

I have a question for those of you who have been accepted or students already attending. Do any of you not have research experience, or is this something that is detrimental to an application for this school?

I have clinical and bench research experience.

Thanks for the feedback. Just trying to comprehend their decision process for this year, and figure out where I might stand. :scared:

Amen. For whatever it's worth, I didn't have research experience when they interviewed me last year. I have 11 months of it now... no interview.
