Yeah, called them and that's pretty much what they said haha

No, definitely decided against that haha, I'm usually pretty mellow but for some reason this one bugged me, my better judgment finally got the best of me and told my type-a part to shut and relax.

Most of the time this website is great, but sometimes it ends up working us up needlessly, but the good definitely outweighs the bad.
 
Just got an interview invite. No email, no status change (though probably the email just hasn't been sent yet). It appeared in my "message center" on the application page. They currently only have August dates, so it's still super early.

Hi, thank you. My status didn't change from "Completed" (since June 23, so you can see they're not necessarily going in chronological order). It didn't change, actually, until I booked an interview date.

If you're complete, do check your messages once in awhile. 🙂

EDIT: Never mind! They do come by email. The message was probably created in the morning. It got to my inbox at 9 am Pacific time.

Has anybody OOS gotten an interview yet? I've been complete since 7/6 and haven't heard anything since then...

Hi, I do not think that is true. My friend went to UC Berkeley (not that Berkeley is any better than Davis, but it is at least as good as Davis in rank according to some statistics that I have encountered...but that does not mean I have encountered every college ranking stat out there) and he got into UC Davis last year. So I think Davis just looks for a variety of people.

Sure thing, they got my 3rd letter and marked me as complete on July 12.

AMCAS sent them my 4th letter on July 13, so I was even more complete then :laugh:

So 7/12 or 7/13 ....?
 
Completed 7/13 too! I guess the moment of truth is going to come soon.

07/07 here, and no news. I wonder if they give silent or notification of rejections? I know UCI does.

I feel fortunate to have received some invites from other schools, but lookin' for some California love.

Hey EliteBeat do you happen to be OOS? I'm OOS, was complete on 7/6 and haven't heard anything...I wonder if they maybe save OOS students for later or something?

Based on the info in this thread, it looks like the online status changes first and an email follows later. Do you or Entadus know the time delay between the status change and the email?

[Yes, this is completely neurotic, but I'm really anxious to hear from Davis in particular]
 
Hm...I'm actually not sure. I got an email today at about 10p, and checked my status later, and the last time I checked it was yesterday, so it's hard to say...but at least we know apps completed earlier r still under consideration right?
 
I was complete 7/19, got an interview email this morning WOOT!😀
 
lol fml. For the Experience section, instead of putting the current date for the activities Im still participating, I put next year's date instead (the date Im going to stop) . =[[

Haha don't worry dude. I did that too, right down to the month and day. I also converted all my semester classes to quarter units for some reason...:laugh:
 
For all those who got invites, did any dates other than those two in August ever open up? There's nothing under Sep, Oct, Nov, even Dec...I'd rather not go in August, but wondering if I can expect anything else to open up. 😕

I saw nothing under the other months, either (I was invited last week). If you can only go at a later date, perhaps you can email them and check?

Lol I did the same thing. They should put that little faq bit right in the instructions....
 
Hey guys I have a question.

How do we know if the admissions committee is actually reviewing our applications? Will our status change from complete to under view?
 
I am still waiting on the secondary (OOS) Do they eventually tell you if you didn't make the cut or do they just let you wait...?
 
So who else is interviewing in August? 😎
 
Is anyone else in the predicament in which their committee letter of rec won't be sent until after the 30 day time frame has expired? I hope my application won't be automatically canceled...

The only date available for me to interview was 9/2. For those who are wondering what my app looked like, here is an overview.

Grew up in Norcal
Went to college in Vancouver, Canada for some reason.. Trinity Western
volunteered with kids mentorship stuff 5 years
graduated with biochemistry crammed 4 into 5 🙂
Got married, moved to Korea for a year to teach english (with the wife)
Came home to norcal - taught math and science for a year at a high school
Decided to become doctor
EMT certification to help at a clinic
Post-Bacc at CSU East Bay to fix crap GPA
(used to be 3.1 and is now 3.3 ish with post bacc, but have a 4.0 in my year long post bacc yay)
Mcat 11,11, with a garbage vr-08 Writing R
Lots of volunteering with public health organizations
Application clearly shows my desire to stay in norcal till the day I die
I want to be a rural Doc
Now Im closer to 30 than 20 years old and want to go to Davis more than any other school on earth as it is in my home and I am sick of traveling and being away from family.

I know that most wont care, but I just always wanted a picture of some of the people trying to get in at Davis so there is mine. If you want any more info, just ask.
