I can't be the only one this has happened to:

"Mom, I got into UCSF!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!! " 😱😱😱

"Oh that's nice, but why would you go to the University of California when you got into [our state school]? Actually I'm getting a call on the other line—call you back later."

*click*

EDIT: I forgot the requisite "What does that stand for?" 😛

hahaha luckily I'm from the bay area, so all my family and friends know about UCSF!!! They don't need to ask haha... Congrats everyone!

I'm guessing this will be in the packet, but do we know yet when their second look weekend is?

Anybody out there who submitted a secondary late in November get an interview?

Newp, not yet. E-mail said it would take a little time. 🙂

Anyone who interviewed mid-late November hear back yet?

are you effing kidding me? I got rejected pre-interview WTF IS THIS

Anyone who interviewed in late September not hear anything? I wonder if we're in the waitlist/reject group come the 20th of this month (as it has been in past years . . . .)

Very early November here, and I got nuthin'...

EDIT: Come to think of it, I remember being told during my interview that our interview date fell right after an AdCom meeting. So, they claimed it would take a lot longer for those of us interviewing after that date to hear back. Seems like the latest reported acceptee interviewed mid October, which seems to corroborate this...

late September here and nothing also... probably got rejected. my friend who is a first year at ucsf told me i should hear some news around january 28ish...

I interviewed on October 17th, and I haven't heard anything.

I had to reschedule my interview from early September, and the lady on the phone made it seem like I was in a later "group." I'm hoping I'll hear something other than a waitlist/rejection :luck:

I interviewed October 27 and haven't heard anything back yet. Looking back in the thread, it seems like some September/early October interviewees got accepted, but I'm not sure what this means for the rest of us. More waiting I guess.

yea i hope i'm not waitlisted since the waitlist movement is probably not that large at this school.

I think it's pretty decent, actually, based on the threads from the two previous years.

Praying not to be rejected come the 20s of January, but if I am, well, it was a miracle I even got a secondary at this school.

Can you appeal a rejection for MSTP? I just got one post-secondary, pre-interview. On one hand, I feel like anything I do at this point would be futile. On the other hand, UCSF is my top school, I've beefed up my clinical experience (my biggest weakness) since applying, and I don't want to look back later and realize I went down without a fight. Would they be likely to even look at what I send them at this point?

I think you know what you need to do. 🙂

Interviewed first week of September...nothing yet. I really hope I don't get crappy news soon, I'd prefer if we dragged this out a bit longer hahaha.

Anyone know when the next round of decisions goes out?

If I remember correctly, at my interview day Dean Wofsy said the adcom meets on Mondays, so we wouldn't hear back until late January. Since this Monday is a holiday, I'm thinking we'll hear back the week of Jan 23.

Well I guess I probably know the answer to my own question, but hopefully I'm not the only person over-thinking every tiny step of this process. 🙂

We'll here back either Jan 20th or the 23rd.

I'm confused by the projected UCSF student budget on thier website:
http://finaid.ucsf.edu/application-process/student-budget#totals

It puts Tuition and Fees for in-state at "33999" and another "$12,245" for non-residents. This is excluding the cost of living.

This seems to be at least $10K more expensive/year then MSAR puts it at. Am I looking at something wrong?
34k-ish the the number I've heard (and have in my literature). I don't know what's up with the MSAR...

Also, I hope nobody had a heart attack seeing this thread bumped

Appeal not granted, informed via snail mail last week.

(I'm glad I didn't check my mail on Friday, thus not spoiling an enjoyable holiday weekend out of town.)

Ah, that's crushing 🙁. From what little I know about you, they're missing out on a unique, kind, and thoughtful candidate. This probably doesn't help you much right now, but I wish you all the best.

Thank you kindly. It does help.

What's the housing situation like I'm looking for space for a couple under 900 even a room will suffice and I have absolutely no luck in Frisco or Berkeley!!

Got an II today, will be withdrawing though, hope someone who really loves this school gets it. Submitted 10/26

accepted students, anyone mind sharing when your snail mail package was dated? trying to figure out which address they might've sent it to. thanks!

Nothing on the East Coast yet.

Actually (as far as I know) I haven't received anything yet.

Maybe they are waiting until after the January acceptances so they can do them all in a larger batch. Or maybe they are waiting until after you guys fill out your FAFSA so they cang ive you a financial aid estimate.

Next adcom meeting is Jan 23rd. We should expect to hear that week I hope!

Do we know that for sure?

(If so, starting some sort of prayer dance that I hear something next wave - interviewed late September, and have heard nothing - praying it means a waitlist and not a rejection).

ah okay. other schools required the signing of matriculation forms within two weeks to hold acceptances, so was worried about it being lost in postal abyss. thanks!

They would have met last week but it was a holiday (MLK). Yes they said this during my interview.

That is correct. The Dean told us that during out interview. The next EXCOMM meeting was going to be on Jan 23 and people who interviewed in January would be up for review in the EXCOMM meeting for February.

The Dean said that Jan interviewees would know their status by the second half of February. Good luck and let us hope that the celestial bodies align properly for this EXCOMM day!

So no news today even though Dean Wofsy said they'd meet today? 🙁

If I recall, the email wave in December happened mid-week, though it was right before the holidays. Here's hoping you guys hear some good news soon! 👍

FWIW people on last year's thread heard back on what would have been yesterday...
