I got that e-mail as well... Wasn't planning on necessarily turning this one in, but kinda second guessing it now

Remember, it's CU. In undergrad they take all of the OOS students money with tuition, in medical school they do the same.

I would turn these in. Colorado accepts ~160 students and accepts 25 in each October, November and December. It seems that they are very purposefully keeping spots open for people who interview in all parts of the interview season. By the end of the year <50% of spots will have been offered. Not having an interview by now is anything but an admissions death sentence. 🙂

The admissions office has NOT sent out the first round of acceptances yet.

I'm sure they didn't disclose to you when they plan on announcing the acceptances...

Seriously, I wish in-state schools expedited IS applicants rather than what appears to be the opposite so I could save on traveling.

Please keep us posted- I received my secondary 10/24 and completed it 10/26, also OOS. I'm curious to know about how long it'll be. Man, it sounds like I'm going to have a long wait to hear anything =\ I suppose a long wait is better than an instant rejection.

Awesome, I guess at least the IS people from our interview group are hearing back already (though iirc there were very few IS applicants in our group). I wonder how they handle IS vs OOS in terms of order of handing out acceptances.

Did you get an email prior to the call? I got the impression it would be a call followed by a snail mail acceptance so I'm wondering if theres any point checking my email every 30min.

I interviewed yesterday and really was impressed. The dean said he had just called 15 people for acceptances. He said next round would be in 3-4 weeks, with the majority coming in march, and some as late as june/july.

Thanks for this reply! I guess they're doing things differently this year? Wish I had known a bit earlier--I've been foolishly holding off on scheduling another interview in hopes that I wouldn't have to drop a couple hundred on flying out. No one to blame but myself.

A little surprised that only one of us made this cut though. Congrats to futureCOdoc! 🙂

If I remember correctly, Dr. Winn said that accepted students would receive a call, an email, and a hard copy acceptance, and that you should receive the call first. So, we can all give our refresh buttons a break and begin obsessively checking our phones. 😀

This is getting so frustrating. I am instate, was complete early august, have been accepted already to 2 schools, and have yet to hear anything about an interview from CU. This is where I really want to go and I will definitely give up my other 2 acceptances to attend CU.

+2 🙁 No acceptances yet, but I've had two interviews with three more scheduled and not a peep from CU. I'd choose to go in-state here over every other school on my list!

+3, but I know several MS1s here who had January interviews last year. It was no big deal for them because they got accepted even though they had a "later" interview.

I kinda get the feeling CU runs a bit later in the cycle.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, from what I understand, CU has only had a handful of interview days to date. On the contrary, schools like Georgetown or GW have already interviewed hundreds of students.

Hang in there...stay strong. I also know an M1 who interviewed in January of last year and was called with an acceptance 3 days later.
