I think that was because you didn't have much healthcare experience? I remember seeing this and thinking: "With his stats, how has he not been accepted?" You then obtained more healthcare experience and sent them an update. Feel free to expand or correct this.

or maybe he was OOS? do they make OOS people wait longer for both interviews and post-interview decisions?

for people who received their placements already, did they send it to you through regular mail or email? thanks.

accepted earlier this week to the mstp at uic! great feeling 🙂

do you remeber how long it took for them to get back to you?

Does anyone know whether an OOS applicant can receive in-state tuition during their 2nd-4th years at UIC if they do not receive any sort of financial support from their parents?

Nope, but you can always get government loans..

Just withdrew my app from here. Hopefully one of you hopeful SDNers get my interview spot. Good luck ya'all!!!!

That's fair. I think the biggest weakness on my application was less my low amount of healthcare experience, and more that I couldn't really draw on any experience for my personal statement/secondaries. My essays were bland.

For whoever was wondering, I'm in-state.

But, yeah, I pelted UIC with letters updating them on my continued experiences and grades.

The point of my post was to give some people who hadn't heard anything back yet hope. UIC has a LOOOOONNNNGGG admissions process. Your experience with the stupid website should tell you a lot about how they run admissions. Don't worry if you get a "we're still looking at you" message or if you are an applicant in process.

So it has been 11 weeks since I was marked complete and I'm still "Application Is In Process".

Anyone else complete mid-late august and still no update?

Secondary returned 8/23, Letter of Rec Received/Complete on 8/29

Just moved to Applicant in Process today, a little over 13 weeks since completion. Really hoping for an interview:xf::xf::xf:

I went to check my status today and its been "Applicant in Progress" for 6 weeks and now it shows a grid of dates but it wont allow me to click and choose a date, Did anyone else have that problem?

you should call the admissions office and arrange an interview through the phone. hurry up! 😀

I returned mine on 8/22 and was complete then. But, I added a letter on 9/23. Don't know if that moves me to the back of the pile or not, but I'm still application in progress. Really want an interview here :xf:

Thanks!! Just called and scheduled an interview for January! 🙂

For those still waiting:
Still spots left in Dec (Peoria/Rockford campuses) and there were still numerous dates in Jan left.

My secondary was completed 10/6 and I have been "applicant in progress" since 10/27.

Where do you see the grid? Is it under the "applicant in process" ? My application was complete several weeks after you so I hope to hear in the next 2-3 weeks

Hopefully now that they aren't receiving anymore applications they will move through them more quickly. I wish you the best of luck:luck:

This means you have an interview invite!

You can't select the date online. You need to call the office to schedule the interview.

Yeah I hope I don't have to wait that long :/ some of my friends were given one interview and found out 2 weeks later that they were at least accepted to a medical school. Most of the schools I have interviewed at have slow turn around times.

This is probably a stupid a question, but it just occurred to me. The interview times they give us are in central time, right? I'm in the eastern time zone and hadn't thought about the time change in Illinois.

Yep, CST. Better going East --> West than West--> East, at any rate. It's a lot easier to get up for a 8:30 am interview when it's 9:30 am your time 🙂 good luck! :luck::xf:

This happened to me too yesterday...after being Applicant in Process for almost 3 months. I don't know how to feel, or if it means anything! :scared:

from what I heard from previous years threads, that means you were not considered for an interview and are going back into the pile to be reviewed at a later date....

Just wondering; how do you guys check your status. I tried logging in on the secondary website but it won't allow me as the deadline for submitting the application has passed. I did submit my application way earlier but went back to their site just to check my status.
How can I tell if I'm in process or whatever it is..

Thank you!
Just wondering since my application is in process and since my application was complete 3 weeks ago and I don't know if my status was different or not before, but do you know if application in process is the first thing to come up or is it a bad sign? lol this whole thing is confusing! they should explain those terms!

application is in process=your application has not been reviewed yet

applicant in process=your application is under review by the admissions committee

you can sit in either one for months at a time, so don't panic. you just submitted, so you have a long wait ahead of you. many people from july and august are still waiting, so be patient!

This is very true. Or in my case waking up at 11am my time for an interview at 1pm. I work nights, though, so that is still really early for me. Thanks for the luck. I like this school, but man that OOS tuition is daunting...

Same thing happened to me...not too thrilled about going back in the pile to be reviewed again

Just got my first interview invite to this school! 🙂 I was complete early November, and am an out of state applicant.

I dunno what's taking so long 😛
I'm OOS and I submitted mine mid October haha!
I'm glad I have other interviews. Congratz either way though!

There are many people who have submitted in July/August who are still Application in Progress.

*Raises hand* As an IS applicant waiting now over 5 months to have my application read once, I have to say that their review process is complete crap.

I'm in that boat. IS, submitted my secondary in July and was complete in August. Still hoping for an interview invite. Didn't expect this long of a wait for my state school.

Anyone else think information regarding mid-November interviews could be released this Thursday? I will be checking my status all day :scared:

When I interviewed last week they said that their reviewing committee was meeting this Thursday to review all applicants and ours might be considered in that pile, so I would assume yours would be as well.

In that case, I am really hoping for the additional correspondence tab this Thursday :luck:

I've been complete since Aug/Sept and just got my interview offer today, I'm IS.

Chicago campus 1/24 -- earliest date in Chicago , and I have mono so didn't want to try and make Peoria on the 22nd of Dec and I'm out of town on 1/4 the Rockford date they offered.

So they def still have plenty of interview options for people still waiting.

What are people's thoughts on UIC? I have an upcoming interview to Indiana and was accepted at SLU, and have 10 schools left to hear from (although some are likely silent rejections).

ARGH moved back to application in process today. Current rural IS, UIUC student with numbers above their average and with a mother that graduated their residency program.

Maybe they saw my name on the pro-chief, pro-3 in 1 petitions. dang, that's what I get for having school spirit...

I went from "Applcant in Process" to "Application is in Process."

same, I moved from applicant in process to application IS in process, not application in process. I don't think it's a computer glitch, there's gotta be some sort of meaning behind it. whether it's good or bad i have no idea...

Complete then too but somehow went straight from application in progress to application is in progress 🙁 I wonder if it would make a difference if I called them or not...

It has for some people. At first, I thought calling was ridiculous, but it seems a few of people have gone to applicant in process a few days after calling. The season is still early though, I wouldn't be too worried yet.

When will we be notified after the committee meets tomorrow? Are only acceptances and rejections notified immediately and waitlists have to, well, wait?

From what I gather, if you are accepted your status will change to "information regarding your application has been sent to your primary address." There will be a additional correspondence tab somewhere on the status page. This means that you have been accepted and can expect a letter and a campus preference card to arrive in the mail box soon. Rejections this early in the season are drastic, so I do not think we will see anything regarding those. I do not think you will be waitlisted at this time, instead, your application may just go to the next meeting repeatedly until waitlist time comes. So in essence, you only get news if you have been accepted or if you violated your interviewer, and they want to reject you ASAP. Best of luck tomorrow! I hope we all get additional correspondence tabs :luck:

I thought I read somewhere on this thread that some students have been getting interview feedback from their interviewers? Is that happening at UIC or am I confusing this thread with another?

Best of luck to everyone tomorrow.

I was complete since early July, IS, average-ish stats. I had been 'Application is in Process' the entire time. I called a couple weeks ago and made an appointment (via phone) with an admissions counselor for yesterday, & when I called, said she would have my application shown to her supervisor. Today my status got changed to 'Applicant in Process' - so it definitely worked for me. I'm not sure if our applicants get 'lost' or what happens, but it doesn't hurt to call!
