Got the interview survey today per my wife. :-( Mr. Strother said they'd be interviewing until "mid April, at least." So I guess we'll have to see if they go to next week, too. But it doesn't bode well that I got the survey and not any other letter. *sigh* I sigh a lot, huh?

Got a letter yesterday saying that there was no final decision made, but all final decisions would be made by yesterday the 20th and that everyone should hear by the 4th or 5th or May
 
Can someone please PM me Mr. Strother's number? I'd like to have it on hand in the likely event I'm waitlisted so I can call and see where I am... Thanks in advance.

I live in Memphis so hopefully I'll get my letter this week. Just wanna know either way at this point.

I appreciate it! If you got yours yesterday, I would assume that I will get mine today. But who knows...

No problem. I would say you will probably get it sometime next week with the batch that gets sent from the meeting this past Friday. At my interview Mrs. Harris said something to us along the lines of if you don't get anything in the mail they just didn't get to your file and to not worry about it because they would get to it at the next one. Since final decisions were supposed to made yesterday, I would think you would be in that group since you hadn't gotten a letter yet. But Good luck man, and let us know when you hear!

Ditto. It seems that it takes a week + mailing time. Plus, I recall Diane telling us at interview tour time that we should give her a week to get the letters made/mailed from the date of the adcom meeting...which I think she had said give it 2 weeks (total) to get to you. So, if yesterday was final decision day, I'd start checking the mail around May 2ish and the May 4/5 date is in line with what she said interview day.

Yeah. They're reflective of my frustration. It looks like I'll have to go ahead and buy an MCAT seat this year. I wonder if I score well and coincidentally get accepted this year if it'll help me out scholarship wise... *shrug* I can't wait forever. I have to prepare for the worst: reapplication for this next cycle.

I'm going to school this yr but id rather be in Memphis
 
I should've applied DO once I got my scores. But it didn't even occur to me until February. If I don't get in this year I'll apply DO and MD (including Texas's lovely system) next year...early! Congrats on the DO acceptances. 🙂

A physician is a physician. But I'd rather stay in tennessee and in my school system lol already have five years in Knoxville.

I agree on both fronts. The congeniality present in both TN state school threads is conspicuous. I love me some Southern hospitality...and cooking! LoL

Lol been here 23 years and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I mean a vacation every now and again is nice but Tennessee can't be beat
 
Got the email from Diane today. Talk about getting me excited. Everyone was decided Friday and all letters will be mailed next monday the 30th

To any other re-applicants....Did they send out an e-mail before this mailing this last year? I don't remember getting one. Good sign, or just a new thing they're doing?
 
Does anyone know how common it is to be either accepted or rejected if you were placed in the "continue to review" category? Or are most people put on the wait list from that category?
I'm sure it changes slightly every year, but if you have any feedback from previous years that would be appreciated!

Deutsch Artzt, I feel ya. I told the bf that after finals this week he needs to keep me entertained lest he finds me camped out at the mailbox.

I'm just glad Ms. Harris sent out the email so we know when we should be finding something out.

Hehehe, I know. Even though I know it's not in there, I open it with the utmost anticipation in case "they just happened to send out a letter." I'm also waiting to hear from ETSU. I just want to know what I'm doing with my life this year. I'm not worried about reapplying at all, but would like to *know* that I'm reapplying. I'd also like to know for sure that I'll be reapplying before dropping $250 on an MCAT seat that will likely be out of town because they're mostly taken up at this point.

*sigh*

LoL, indeed. I've found that sexcercise is much more conducive to my health since I'm less prone to avoid sexcercise than the gym. 😛

Yes, I'm second generation German. My father's side of the family is comprised of recent German immigrants and my mother's side recent Irish immigrants. So I'm actually second generation German Irish with a distinctly German name and many German tattoos. What a combo, eh? I still have family in Austria and intend to visit them this year.
 
So I'm looking at UT's budget and they have estimated $8,370 for books and supplies for M1. This vastly surpasses the other schools I've compared this budget too...does anyone know why it's so high?

I know that Dr. Strother said something about them including money for a new laptop and any programs like word and excel that you might need in with that.

Yup. That's exactly what he said when I interviewed. So you can probably subtract about $1500 minimum from that figure, but probably more like $2000 if including software.
