You could still get an offer starting like, either tomorrow or Thursday, and until the Texas schools stop making offers, I think in June. Since you're OOS they could notify you at any time, but they haven't been notifying IS and OOS separately so that's not likely.

According to other people on sdn matches should be coming out at 8 am! But I haven't checked tmdsas!

Congrats to everyone who matched! Let me know if you have any questions! It hasn't been that long since I went through all this 🙂 We're deep in the middle of the first year classes so I can help ya'll out with that! In case anyone is wondering, I also have some experience with maintaining long distance relationships while in med school, being married in med school, and finding housing.

Matched here! I have a quick question though. I did not receive any pre-match offers but I also interviewed at UTSW and UTHSCSA. I ranked UTMB highest and UTSW next on the list. Is it possible to also get offers from my lower-ranked schools later on?

No, you've been automatically withdrawn from all schools you ranked lower than the one you matched to. Applicants can only receive offers from schools they ranked higher than the one they matched to. So you'll be going to UTMB!
 
Hey everyone,

I matched to UTMB! Yay! Hello future classmates (maybe)! I'm considering deferring in order to complete my MPH before matriculating. Has anyone heard of doing this, rather than doing it in between 3rd and 4th year? Does anyone think this is a bad idea?

One of my interviewers worked in the national lab and I actually asked about Ebola getting released. He didn't seem concerned lol
 
What was the theme of ya'lls ppt? Last year they used Black Eyed Peas "I gotta feeling"

And that national lab is really secure lol you can't get in unless your badge scans correctly through a couple of checkpoints. Even as a guest of someone who works there you need your school ID and your drivers license

yes, the song was "I gotta feeling"


for the national lab: they checked my drivers license, interview day badge, called to make sure I was supposed to be there, made me go through a metal detector, made me sign a waiver, and then my interviewer had to escort me around the building.
 
I found out at 3:45 this morning when I woke up to get a cough drop and haven't been able to sleep since! I'm so relieved and excited! Can't wait to meet y'all!😍

sounds right! diseases from that lab should be the least of your worries lol

true! this week we actually had a lecture about biological warfare and which labs are storing some of the worst bugs. yay phd
 
Any word here on how UTMB deals with waitlists? Do they rank applicants? Also, when is the most probable time for waitlist movement?

I got accepted off the wait list. They sent out the official "you're on the wait list" email in early march. There are several people in my class accepted off the wait list. I know of a couple in May and even one who got accepted 2 days before the last possible day in June. Once the match stuff dies down you could maybe email Teresa Silva and express interest in being considered. Last year there was a glitch where half the people didn't get the email. There will be someone on here who will post about it and if you don't get one, email again to ask your status. Also, email by mid march if you don't hear anything from UTMB and no one here says anything about it. They also say that they don't rank applicants but reevaluate the pool once a spot opens up. And not everyone gets on the wait list but I don't know their criteria for that
