Congrats!

I interviewed 2/6 and have not heard back yet... Think that means bad news??

At most schools the time you wait after your interview is dependent on when your interviewers submit their evaluation, which is different for each person. I don't know how Toledo works but it likely doesn't mean anything that you haven't heard back yet.

Thanks, that makes sense. Doesn't make waiting any easier though :xf:

any SDN'ers interviewing this thurs 3/8/12? anyone going to go to the meet and greet the night before?

I already interviewed, but I just wanted to say if you're on the fence about the meet & greet you should definitely go! I thought it was a very valuable experience. Good luck!

I'm interviewing this week on 3/8/2012. I'm sure it's been addressed already, but does anyone know the layout of this interview? What types of questions? One interviewer vs. multiple?

You'll have 2 interviews (in my case one had an MD and one had a PhD, but both did research). You have to go to their offices but there will be someone to escort you and you'll find out your schedule (who is interviewing you and what time) right when you get your packet when you check in. I think the type of questions really depend on the interviewer. Apparently Toledo is known for asking ethical questions (supposedly at least two per interview from what I've heard) but in one interview I wasn't asked any ethical questions and in the other I only had one. One of my interviews was pretty laid back and included get to know me questions as well as discussing some things on my AMCAS. Both interviews are open file.

Hi. You'll have two interviews (both faculty - I had 2 MD/PhDs). Interviews run about 45 minutes and each faculty member is supposed to give you 2-3 ethical scenarios - such as, how you would behave if your superior acted unprofessionally and so on. Most of the questions are outlined in the interview feedback section of SDN. Nothing too stressful.

good luck :)

When you guys interviewed did the schedule the admissions office send you before your interview day say there were three interview periods? lol I was skimming through the agenda and it had a morning interview period and two afternoon periods...

Is it always 2 interviewers or do they change it up sometimes?

They have several interview slots but every applicant has two interviews. I had two 30-45 min breaks during my interview day, suggesting that other applicants in my group were interviewing during those slots. The breaks were a good time to check out the school and I believe you can also sit in on classes. Good luck.

Both my interviews were with MDs. I did poorly on the first, but better on the second and got in:). Most of my questions were medical scenarios (I think 3 for each interview). Good luck guys! Toledo seemed like a wonderful school.

TIP: if you are staying at the Hilton, they provide a shuttle service from the airport ($10) and from the hotel to the medical school (free).

Just received an e-mail notifying I'm still under review for an II...Anyone else in the boat?

Same here as well...glad to know they're still giving out interview offers longer than I thought they would (offers through the end of March for interviews to the end of April).

I will be joining you for the interview day, but I will be arriving too late on Wednesday for the meet and greet. I guess I will have to play catch up on Thursday. I'm looking forward to meeting both of you even if I am not sure who you are lol. Good luck and see you on Thursday.

I'm not sure if I am going. I guess i'll see if I can make it but I RSVP'd for it. I hope they don't get mad if you RSVP but can't make it? lol.

I don't really think they would get mad-- it was very informal.

As a current medical student here and as someone who attended Meet and Greet when I interviewed, I would highly recommend it for the simple reason that it allows you to ask basically any question you want to current medical students in a low-stakes very candid environment. There is indeed time in the interview day to interact/ask questions with current medical students, but you're eating lunch/taking a tour at that same time.

There are two interviews, most of the time these are both with faculty members, occasionally there is a student interviewer. Faculty members may be basic and/or clinical scientists. I think the interviews generally run from 30-45 minutes and can take place in either the morning, after the introductory presentations, or in the afternoon, following the lunch and tour.

yea I got that email yesterday morning as well. I would really love to interview at UT....please oh please show me some love! :xf:

I just received an interview invite today in the afternoon! Utterly surprised that this is on a weekend! I also received the email earlier this week that your application is still under review!
I am not complaining! I am going for an interview at Toledo!! :)
My stats are in MDApps profile.

Is there a student host service that they provide?

:/ Not sure how I feel about this whole "still under review" thing. At this point if I do get an interview, by the time I'd get a response it'd be really close to May 15...and I've already been going back on forth so much with schools/financial aid packages I've already received :/

I was unexpectedly really impressed with Toledo. I am hoping my decision comes closer to 4 weeks than the 6. Anxiously awaiting a decision....

I thought Toledo was amazing too, and I am very anxiously awaiting a decision as well! Yesterday was 5 weeks since my interview.

Hopefully we both get some good news soon! :xf:

Alternate list this afternoon... looks like I jinxed myself :p

Has anyone been successful in scheduling an interview this week? I received the Saturday II and I have tried calling Kris, have left a voicemail and e-mailed as well without a response.

It takes awhile for them to get back to you. Theyll prob get you scheduled by the end of the week. You can keep trying by phone but I never got thru, I only got thru by email.

Ok thanks. I was beginning to feel like a stalker...

Yeah I'm definitely disappointed but it's not over yet! Keeping my fingers crossed we both end up with good news :)

It is definitely not over yet! This medical school process is CRAZY! There's nothing like it. I hope we both get good news too! :)

I got a rejection letter in the mail today. I can't be the first to be rejected, that would just be too depressing. Somebody join me...(please...anybody...)

I'm sorry to hear that... I hope things still work out for you. If you don't mind saying... when did you interview?

Has anyone heard back post-interview recently? I'm wondering if we're all doomed for the wait list at this point in the cycle. I interviewed March 8th, and have not heard. ( I know it's still a bit early for me.)

Yea, I think you are a little too early. I haven't heard anything yet, and I interviewed February 27th. The wait continues...

I'm OOS and looking to book flights to Toledo. For those of you that have interviewed, would you say that it's best to fly into Detroit and then drive down to Toledo or to fly into Toledo with the hefty ticket price and shuttle to the campus?

Just got emails about Coast to host, Meet and Greet and other things about 2 hours ago. I feel that this was a bit too late..Also, anyone else going to meet and greet the night before?

How far out are interviews still being scheduled just out of curiosity? Is Toledo still even extending invites? Still hoping for a last minute interview.
