Congrats! That's a very good sign for you, but perhaps not the best for those of us that've already submitted.
I landed another interview in the area for December, sent an "in the area" email, and received a "thanks for such great interest" with notice that (1) They don't offer December interviews, and (2) A decision has not yet been made on whether or not I'll receive an interview. I'm guessing that's good. Anyone receive a rejection yet?

So, I know that their admissions status page says it'll take up to 4 weeks for them to review our application file.... but anybody here "completed" over 4 weeks ago and still have not heard anything from CDU? My 4 week mark is tomorrow and I'm not sure whether it'll be a smart idea to contact the admissions office or not.
Yeah, I emailed them an in the area letter. Patricia replied that they still haven't made a decision on whether or not to interview me yet. It's pretty much a sit back and wait type of situation. I imagine they'll send out some more IIs by mid December, probably sooner. Hang in there. It's tough; I know.
To current applicants, please be patient! CDU carefully screens applicants and it takes a while for them to finalize decisions! I applied in September (2010), invited for inteview in Ocotober (2010), interviewed in December (2010), and was not admitted until JUNE (2011). Was it painful to wait? Absolutely, but CDU was my #1.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, Esteban! I'll be ecstatic just to interview and would have no problems waiting for a June acceptance. This is also my #1.

I added CDU in late October, after I discovered this program. It is my top choice as well, but I'm sad that I find out about this amazing program so late in the cycle. I submitted my supplemental yesterday and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
According to the CDU website, ~1700 applicants apply and 250 interview for 24 spots. Anyone know about how many applicants complete supplementals?

Never received a secondary (AMCAS received in early September) 🙁 Could it help at all to submit a letter of interest? I know they give out secondaries for a while, but I really love this program and would like one as soon as possible if they want to give me one (which is doubtful). Has anyone in a similar position submitted one?
Thanks for the responses, guys! It's just all this waiting is killing me, especially since my boyfriend already received two interview invites. I've gotten nothing but silence and one rejection from USC.

Does anyone know if admissions are on the same schedule as UCLA? do they not give acceptances until March?
We were told on interview day that we would likely not hear anything until the end of February.

Congrats! You've been doing well. Good luck! I just met someone at my interview today that interviewed at Drew. He said it's pretty intense, a 7 station MMI, followed by an individual interview, followed by a panel. They apparently only have two more interview sessions, one in Jan, the other in Feb. Again, congrats and good luck.

I'm all about the love, man. I consider myself the antithesis of a gunner, you know? I like to see other people fulfill their dreams, even if I'm not as lucky, you know? Sure, there's a pang of jealousy every time I hear someone is interviewing at my top choice; but it goes away quickly once I see that glimmer in their eye that they too have the same dreams.
Anyhoo, I am so rooting for ya! That's be awesome if we ended up classmates. Good luck!
BTW, the last thing isn't a panel interview, it was an essay. I remembered that when I was sleeping last night. LoL

In any case, I really do hope that you get an invite as well. Seriously. But if there is one thing I've learned about this cycle so far it's that "it ain't over until it's over!"
Yeppers peppers. I sent one in exquisitely early, lol. They often reply to my emails with "we're glad you're so enthused about our program, X."
To which email address did you send it to? I sent a follow-up letter to the email address listed on their application status webpage yesterday and no response. How long did they take to respond to you?

I'm sorry to hear that. =( BUT what's important is that you will be matriculating into a medical school next year! I hope to be as lucky. So far, it has been quiet for me. Lol.

I was wondering though -- I only see 18 people on the list. Did they accept fewer people last year, or have fewer people matriculate? Why are there only 18 students, as opposed to the 24?

I imagine that's due to a few students pursuing the MPH and perhaps a few taking a year off to pursue research/other advanced degrees. One or two may have also been forced to scramble. It's all just conjecture, though.
On another note, has anyone received an II recently? Have they already sent out all the January invites? I'm beginning to get very anxious. I'll probably send in one more LOI with my last semester's grades as a last ditch effort. *sigh*

I am on the same boat. Submitted my secondary more than a month ago and still waiting. I have couple of friends at drew who didn't get their interviews until February in previous cycles. From what I understand from my conversations with admissions and current students, they make most of their decisions in spring especially in January and February so we still have hope.

And I think because the program is so small, and most don't post on SDN, it'll be difficult to tell. Maybe call?
Good point. I'll just send them an email asking those questions and include a tiny two sentence spiel about how much I love the program again. God, I wish I could just do something else to show them how insanely much I want to attend this program.

It looks like they gave out a couple in January last year; so it's possible.
Well, to keep everyone informed, I sent in an update letter with my last semester's grades combined with a brief paragraph of LOI-type material and never got a response, a first from this school. It appears as though I have failed in securing an interview at my one and only, an unrequited love worthy of violently throwing oneself to the floor amidst merciless wailing and writhing, a predicament that inevitably ends with one lying pretzel style, half in and out of some random person's closet at the butt of an empty bottle of the cheapest and highest proof spirits one can find, awakened only by the smell of the miniature pincher's tongue slapping against your fetid and debauchery weathered face. *sigh* C'est la vie...c'est la vie.
