As an aside, I was rejected at UCLA this morning, pre-secondary.
Now I'm nervous that even if Drew liked me, UCLA might decline me. =/

I don't have any official info but I think that Drew would make sure to invite students that could handle the Geffen curriculum and the fact the Geffen rejected you should not undermine the fact that Drew likes you (they are separate admissions committees). I don't think that you should worry about Geffen and be happy about making it this far with Drew :luck:

Oh - and I am sorry about the rejection, their loss.

I'm definitely happy about having made it this far. I think the only reason that it worries me is because students have to be accepted by the Drew and UCLA admissions committees.

And thanks for the "their loss" - it made me smile. 🙂

Don't worry, accepted to Drew last year, Rejected post-interview by Geffen. 🙂
 
Does anyone have any idea when we should expect to hear something? I interviewed in October and they told us we should hear back by end of February, but since some acceptances have already been given out I'm not sure if this still holds. I'm just wondering if this is one of those schools with silent rejections/wait-lists or if there is anything I can do to help my chances (i.e. letter of intent, updates, etc.).

Just nervous since it's been such a long wait :scared:

I completely understand how you feel. I interviewed in January and I feel like it's been a long wait, so I can't imagine what it must be like for an October interviewee! For us, they told us about 1-2 months (or possibly later), so that puts the earliest response time at the mid-February mark (I can't speak to whether or not Drew is considering its applicants in order of interview date). Maybe you could call and ask for clarification? I'm not sure what else we can do.

Same boat as you in this case. Extremely nervous. Hoping for the best though. 🙂
 
Considering this a silent rejection, as there's no way I'm getting an II this late in the game. This will be my last post. Congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to those waiting on decisions and any future WL movement.
 
First batch of UCLA Geffen letters went out today (from the UCLA thread). I've been impatiently waiting by my phone the whole day 🙁

Completely understand how you feel. My sister-in-law is going to be going into labor within the next couple of days, so an acceptance at Drew this week would be AMAZING.

Nobody has actually confirmed this yet. Nobody has reported a change in the "Final Decision Letter sent" status either.

Edit: Also, you said you heard acceptances were going out this week and then you said a few weeks, which one is it?

Edit2: well now I see you changed it from "next week" to "soon I hope" :laugh:

UCLA kids are hearing back, so let's hope admissions is going through the Drew candidates now. 🙂

No clue whatsoever. =/

I'm thinking it could be any time until about June. People were still hearing back at that time last year.

Nothing on my end unfortunately. Not sure if I should lose hope or this school just likes to make me despair.

Might call them next week.
 
Nothing here either. Only one person on SDN has reported being accepted thus far, and that was back in January.
 
Does anyone know if Drew does second look? If they do, then most students should be accepted before then.

Nothing yet either. Very nervous. Just hoping for the best haha.

I know they accepted at least 12 people. During the Feb interview they said they extended offers to fill half the class so far. I guess that just means most of the people who applied here and got accepted aren't very active on this thread haha.

Yes, when I was answering a questionare about the Geffen second look and it asked which program I was in (Drew/PRIME/MSTP etc). It's scheduled for April 6th so there should be some news about Drew acceptances at least a couple weeks before then.

Just out of curiosity, was that UCR/Haider program on there too? I wonder if that's still going now that UCR has a med school.

Shoot, I can't access the survey after submitting it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't there. It looks like UCR is really up and running on its own.

UCLA application status now has a bunch of housing and financial aid forms. Has there been no other news from that last wave?
 
Has anyone contacted Drew recently? If so, have they given a timeline on admissions decisions? I interviewed in January and have not heard anything at all. The wait is agonizing,.

People who interviewed in October still have not heard anything at all.
 
Tuan has said he was accepted & he interviewed in January.

Keep in mind that n = 1 though.

Spoke to admissions a while back and was told that decisions should be made by the April 15th deadline. This was a while ago, so I don't know if they are still adhering to that, but just thought I'd put it out there.

Has anyone heard anything from Drew?
 
Nothing on my end. I think the Drew-UCLA dream is fleeting away.

You're messages are all so helpful and encouraging that it motivated me to finally register for the SDN.

I interviewed for Drew/UCLA in January and I also have yet to hear anything🙄

FYI:
I Googled all things Drew/UCLA and found info from 2011 that stated Drew usually conducts a New Students Luncheon during the end of April.

I was also informed by the Admissions Director that the program in undergoing some changes to sync with UCLA's admissions requirements and process. This may be delaying things this year in regards to admission notifications.
