Interviewed here on Monday. The more I learned about the school, the more I liked it (especially after talking with my student interviewer).
Now to wait..:xf:

Best of luck to everyone still waiting (pre or post-interview). It's really an awesome school with a lot to offer.

I was there too.

Great interviewer who knew my app front to back, which I really appreciated. Also just a great reflection of what the school represents. Student interviewer was honest and easy to talk with. Interview day was pretty disorganized though. I felt bad for the one person out of the whole group who had to take the 45 minute shuttle to the downtown campus for an interview then come back for the student interview.

Drexel is a good place and I liked the people there, I just didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about it. Probably not the place for me, but I can see how some really like it.

Hi guys, when you pick a date for your interview from their online calendar can you still go back to the calendar and see if earlier dates have opened?

No, you have to call the office.

I felt similarly about the interview day--seemed like a lot of downtime and you're kind of just left on your own while you wait for interviews.

Glad to hear your interview went well! Here's to waiting for ~8 weeks 😛

So I interviewed in the past week and my application status has already changed to:

"Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."

What does this mean, is the quick turn around a good or bad sign or no indication whatsoever?:scared:

It probably means your interviewer submitted their evaluation right after your interview. Probably not a bad thing, unless you bombed the interview.

My file has been complete since August 18th, and my view decision update still reads "Your file is complete and will be reviewed." No interview invites. No updates. Nothing. Since August.

Is this normal? Did my application get lost? Do they "soft reject" by not sending rejection letters pre-interview? Has this happened to anyone else?

For those whose statuses changed after the interview to:

"Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."

How long after the change was there an admissions decision?

Like twelve weeks. But there were people that interviewed after me that heard anywhere from six to eight weeks.

Ohhhhh, so your status changed immediately after the interview and then you waited 12 weeks? I was confused as to why my status updated so quickly after the interview when admissions predicted an 8 week turnaround.

Thanks!

Well I'm guessing our wait will be longer with Christmas/New Years only a few weeks away... Major buzz kill.

Yeah, I'm thinking we should tack on an additional 2 weeks since we lose those because of the holidays 😳

Since they said about 8 weeks for turnaround time post-interview, I'm guessing it's ok if I don't submit my letter of interest today? The committee meets every Thursday but it seems like there's multiple steps before they get there.

I've been complete since 8/30 so I was starting to think they silent rejected me BUT received an II via the status page yesterday! Interview is scheduled for Feb 7

Final decision status today.

Does anyone know how long it takes from the final decision status until you received a letter/packet?

And rejected!!!! First one of the year. Post interview. Came one week after final decision. No surprise since it was absolutely the worst interview session I have ever had. Does not help that I still felt the NyQuil from the night before (I was still recovering from a cold). I'm pretty sure I was incoherent during my interviews and when writing my essay prompt. Good luck to everyone else.

Just got my acceptance packet in the mail! Beyond excited!!! Although Drexel was not high on my list when I started this process, the interview got me hooked! Absolutely can't wait to start there next fall!!!!!

Oh, also:
Interview 10/8
Decision made 11/29
Received: 12/7

Yeahhh... haha I called the admissions office this past Wednesday and they said they don't always mail them right away, so I'm assuming that was the delay. I'm actually only 2 hours away from Drexel sooo that had to be it lol

Oh wow CONGRATS! We had our interview on the same day, and I forgot who you were, but that's awesome and I hope all the 10/8ers get accepted because I LOVED talking to you guys. Crossing my fingers for an acceptance next week!

Final decision too! I hope it's good since my interview went rather oddly

Can you drive to the admissions office and pick it up? Haha

I wish. But I've waited this long (interviewed 9/19), I can wait another week. I really hope it's an acceptance. I feel the interview went well. Didn't like my essay, but I loved the school, its program and its location.

Oh boy interviewed mid October and status says a final decision has been reached and is in the mail. This interview went rather badly so I'm sure this is a rejection

Wow, I'm surprised how many people had a similar (negative/weird) interview.

Mine wasn't exactly negative, it was just short so it's hard to gauge how I did. There were four of us on my day who had the same interviewer and he finished the four of us in forty minutes. So while everyone else had long meaningful 30+ minute interviews we kind of got this rushed rapid fire ten minute quicky. I understand that the interviewer might've been really busy though, and I'm happy we all got treated the same because it would've sucked if he gave some people long ones and some people short ones!

To everyone who had very expedient interviews at Drexel, don't feel it will not go in your favor.

I interviewed with the Head of Cardiology, as I hear many people do. Although he was extremely busy, he basically knows your application inside and out, and uses the interview to confirm you and your values. That is why he sometimes cuts interviews short.

Someone in this year's class had my same interviewer, had a 15 minute interview, and obviously was accepted.

I just received my acceptance package today as well.

Interviewed: 10/12
Final Decision Status: 11/29
Acceptance in Mail: 12/7

Stats: 3.65/3.7/35 non-trad with a 3.9+ MS degree.

Hope my words have assuaged some fears and good luck to all those waiting!
Also, anyone in my 10/12 group accepted give me a shout out!

Thanks for this! I had the same interviewer as you and this helped ease my fears a lot 🙂 I'm basically on your timeline plus a week so I'm hoping to receive the same letter you did on Friday. If you don't mind, what region of the US are you from? I'm just trying to gauge mail speed.

I was really nervous about the fast interviewer too. Sooo I interviewed recently (11/30) and i <3 the school! So I won't have any answers for at least a month... but If I get an acceptance packet I'll attend 5000%!!

How did you guys wait patiently for the final decision/distract yourself? aka. keep my sanity during this terrible terrible waiting game...

hey gusy, was wondering how long it usually take for "with the committee" status to change to "final decision"

Question- my interview is at the end of January. Do I need to update Drexel with my grades from this semester?

Hey guys, just happy to say that I got accepted to Drexel! First acceptance so I'm happy about that!

I had a quick question: when I send them my deposit, does that make me commit to going to their school or is that just to hold a seat so I can wait and hear back from other schools? I've heard from some schools that the deposit is just to hold a seat until you make a final decision in may but I wanted to make sure that applies to Drexel and other schools as well. Thanks!

I hope you all get the same good news as I have!

Hey congrats. The deposit just holds your seat. You have to decide on May 15, though. When did you interview?

drexel, why have you skipped 10/5's? i'm waiting so patiently for a decision but you hurt my feelings by giving out decisions to 10/8's and 10/12's first...

Apart from not receiving any other interviews or rejections from the rest of your schools, is this school really anyone's top choice?

Did you interview here? Because I think for a lot of people it's feeling this school that makes it an "upper" choice (if not "top")
