Congrats! What did your status say before the invite?
status feedback not yet defined!!!!
congrats medpr! Can i ask what the area code was on the call? I keep freaking out every time i get a call from an unknown number (and since i live in the chicago area, a bunch of unknown numbers come from il area codes...)
Do you remember how long you were under review for??
I can't have been the only one to get an invite today...?
i'm still under review! Hoping for an ii soon and not a hold status... Wish i could say i got one today 😛
Anyone have info about what the interview day is like? The email makes it seem like it isn't very organized..
Hey MedPR,
Sorry to hear that the e-mail is not very clear. The admissions office here is great and I'm certain that you will get a detailed agenda and explanation of that agenda when you get here. Unless there have been changes that I'm unaware of, you'll have 1 interview with a student on the admissions committee and 1 interview with a faculty member. The timing of these interviews will vary based on the schedules of the adcom member that day. You will be given a tour and lunch with a student You will also get a talk about the mission/atmosphere/financial aid/opportunities at Stritch by a faculty member with a chance to ask questions. You'll probably have a chance to sit in on a class if you want to and the schedule works out. Hope this helps and good luck in your application process!
I submitted my app more than a month ago and it's still not complete! I will be in Illinois for Northwestern's interview early October, is it bad to send an "in the area" email to them before they've even completed my file?
Wow, I'm so glad I just called Loyola. My file has been "complete and pending further review, etc.." for over a month and I was kind of getting antsy. I asked if they had any other information about when my file would be reviewed and when I gave them my ID, the lady on the phone was pleasantly surprised and said, "wow, did you take another MCAT recently?" Apparently my file was reviewed after my first score and placed in a kind of "held for later review" pile, and now that they saw my significant improvement, she said that she will have them review it again with my new score soon.
So, lesson here is that if anyone had a second MCAT score come back in the last month or so, and you are still waiting to hear form Loyola, it doesn't hurt to call.
Good point. The office is really really good about responding. Sent an in-the-area email today, got a response just now saying my app will be forwarded for review. If invited, I'll be contacted in the next week!!!!![]()
How long has your file been complete for? I'm looking to do the same thing, cause I will be in the area in 2.5 weeks but I'm still not complete!
interview invite! I really like the touch of an invitation by phone call. Complete 8/1

I was in the middle of commenting when you edited. Yes, that's the status for candidates with an interview invite. Maybe that's what mine will say if I check rightttttt.... NOW!
Edit: Darn it, still the same ole "file is under review" status. Got all excited and everything

Is this a hold status or silent rejection?
"Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail. "

QFT. Makin' my job easy. Congrats MedPR you will have an excellent (and very organized day) when you come visit. Matt and Rose in admissions are pros.
EDIT: Won't necessarily have a med student interview you. Could have two faculty.
Congrats to those who received II's recently!!
I have a question for current med students regarding planning for travel... The info sheet admissions sent suggests NOT booking a flight before 5:30pm the day of the interview. Is it a bad idea to book a 6:15pm flight out of O'hare? I imagine traffic at that time is awful and I will be returning a rental car as well, so not sure if that time is pushing it... Any thoughts??

Does anyone know how often Loyola holds interviews and what days?

Can anyone that has had an interview already share how it went?
Mine was, very interesting, to say the least
that was really cryptic. Care to share yours first? 🙂
