7 weeks under review!

Wondering if I should call tomorrow to ask about my status or not.

+1 sent an In-the-Area email back in september...they responded that they would take that into account but my trip to Chicago in early Oct has come and gone..haha

Loyola finally sent me a secondary today. I'm a bit of an underdog for this school, but I strongly identify with the Jesuit mission. Any thoughts on whether or not it's even worth submitting and paying at this point?

Has anyone had any success with in the area emails? I have an interview in Chicago on 11/7 and would love to interview at Loyola at that point too. Anyone know what days they typically have interviews on?

They actually interview one or two students pretty much every day during the week and then then a large group on the occasional Saturday. When they called me, they asked me for a specific day that would work. Good luck! Hope it works out for you, Loyola is amazing!

They emailed me back a few minutes later and said they'd bring my message to the admissions committee and make a decision within two weeks.

yeah they told me that too...i'm still "under review" after more than two weeks though, so idk

are there merit scholarships available?

More than enough. I call it a beer and burgers budget. You aren't eaten ramen every night and you also aren't eating at Next downtown either. We aren't starving, we go out plenty and are able to keep the heat going at home, ha.

Rent in Forest Park is 400-700/mo, parking is included or 40/mo
Oak Park: 600-$1,000,000, parking is included or 50-60/mo

Good to know. Does rent include utilities? Is there garage parking?

Hey MedPR, I interviewed on the 25th and I haven't heard anything either. I've been freaking out waiting by the phone too, but I guess at this point there's use losing sleep over it until I know SOMETHING one way or the other.

I know how you feel 🙁

So, I've been under review for 7 weeks. Called to see if I could find out what was up - they politely told me that my file was under review with the committee.

Guess all I can do is sit, wait, and wish! 😛

+1 Thanks for calling! I've been under review for awhile too :xf::xf:

I have become completely invested in you getting in here. I keep checking in hoping you got your acceptance. Hope it helps to know people are rooting for you. :xf:

I've been thinking the exact same thing! Hope you hear good news soon!

I just withdrew my application after my II 2 days ago. Good luck to the rest of you!

It definitely helps. Thank you!

so this is what my status says (looks like they do not reject until April)... looks like bad news:

Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.

Has anyone who received an acceptance gotten their letter in the mail? I was hoping to receive it by today. 🙁

I'm considering calling about my status...

For further status check information you may contact the Office of Admissions on Thursdays between 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (CST) at 708-216-3229 or you may email us at: [email protected].

Do it, dude. Just to give you some piece of mind so you can relax a bit.

However, I highly doubt they even go to you yet, if you interviewed on 9/25.

You been under review for a while, MedPR??

No, I interviewed on 9/25. On 10/15 they called people who interviewed on/before 9/21 to notify them of acceptances. When I interviewed the Dean said our files were going to committee on 10/8 and I'm just anxious to know my decision.

In the same boat. Interviewed 9/27

I thought about calling, but then I didn't want to look like I couldn't wait a few days for a letter. Luckily I'm pseudo local, so hopefully it comes in today.

I have the same status, and don't know what it means. I hope it doesnt mean theyve rejected us already and just waiting to let us know.

MedPR I would wait until Oct 31st/Nov 1st to call. You don't want to seem overly anxious. Try to focus on other things for the next couple of weeks. Best of luck to ya

Definitely don't want to freak anyone out, but my friend was accepted here on the 15th and had his interview on 9/28 so I don't know about the before 9/21 thing.

Just called. They wouldn't give me my decision but they said letters were mailed out already.

This is the status I have from their page:

"We have received all required information and your file is under review with the Committee on Admissions."

I believe I was complete 8/9.

Anyone know if you can turn the secondary in on the day of the due date? Or does it have to be in before the due date?

Buried somewhere in this thread was a similar question- the answer I heard was to turn it in ASAP, but don't stress too hard about the due date.

Anyone have any ideas about merit scholarships? My letter didn't say anything about it, but I'm wondering if I'm out of luck, or do they determine it later?

Determined way later. When did your letter come?

Anyone else receive a letter?

Hello everyone. I'm sure this has probably already been answered on this thread but I can't seem to find it. I hope someone is willing to answer this question again!

How long did it take for you to receive an interview call or email?

I submitted my secondary mid-September and am starting to get worried. Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
