I'm not sure what they're waiting for, i.e. either II or rejection - looks like people are getting II and rejections... but some have not heard from them... I don't know why?

Hello Everyone. I have an interview on mid November, and I was wondering if anyone can please share some knowledge about the interview itself. How many people interviewed you, maybe couple suggestions. Also do you think that I will know whether I was accepted or not by December 1?

Congrats! Would you mind letting us know when you were complete/submitted your secondary? Sorry, I don't know anything about the interviews. I'd recommend looking up the interview feedback area. It tells you how many people you interview with, gives examples of specific questions, etc.

One faculty interviewer. Prepare for the standard interview questions but in a conversational, non-tricky manner. Two weeks is quite fast to expect to hear back but I guess you can only hope 😀

Just got an interview for Nov. 5th!!! Does any one have any suggestions for hotels to stay at? Do any hotels give discounts for interviewers? Also I heard that there was an option to stay with med student. Is there any truth to that? Thanks in advance.
 
Hi Everyone,

I just received an invitation from Meharry to submit an application for the secondary yesterday. Given that Meharry has somewhat of a screening process in terms of who they give secondaries to, what is the likelihood of receiving an interview once the secondary is submitted? Also, I am international applicant (Canadian), so I'm not sure how much of that would work against me. Any insight would be appreciated.
 
I'm debating if I should withdraw here too. I haven't heard a peep since completion.

Did you send them an LOI? If you really want to go here, you should let them know.
 
I assumed that LOI were only used post-interview. Thanks.
 
They said allow 6 weeks for review...LIES! i've been complete since August 17 -__-

I've been complete since August 8, but I haven't heard a thing from the adm. Do u mine pming me ur stats? thanks in advance

What is the benefit of withdrawing application? I have my secondary in for a long time... have not heard from them... got acceptances from few colleges and will not go to M.

Should I withdraw?

you let the school know you aren't interested and allow people who are interested a fair chance
 
Hi! On the secondary app, there is a checkbox to click either "New" or for "reapplicant to Medical School". Does anybody know whether this is for any medical schools or for just for meharry? The question follows by asking: if this is a re-application, select the disposition of the most recent application and lists "rejected" "Alternate" "withdrawed' and "Other".... i was guessing that they are asking whether we've ever applied to meharry, but i wanted to make sure before i submit... thanks for answers in advance!

Accepted. Interviewed Oct 22nd.

Withdrawing due to starting date of class and multiple acceptances. Good luck to everyone else and those who will attend. I felt really good about Meharry. I hope my early withdrawal with give others an earlier chance for acceptance. I'm not going to hold a bunch of acceptances when other can have a shot.
 
This is what i received from Meharry after more than two months of being complete.

"Dear Potential Medical Student:
Greetings! Please be advised that the Committee on Admissions for the School of Medicine at Meharry Medical College has decided that your application is no longer being considered for the 2013 Freshman Class. However, because the committee believes that you have the potential to enter medical school after some additional preparation; your application is being considered for the Meharry Master in Health Sciences (MHS) program.

The principle objective for the (12 month) MHS program at Meharry is to offer activities, which will strengthen the participants' competitiveness for entry into the School of Medicine. Emphasis is placed on providing individualized personal counseling, as well as a premedical curriculum and MCAT preparation. In order to sustain the quality of activities, which are offered in the MHS Program, participant enrollment is small. Only those students who exhibit the academic potential to endure the rigors of our educational program will be invited to participate.

Please respond to this email if you do not wish to be considered for this master's program. We will contact you in April if you are selected for an interview for this program.

Thank you for your interest in the School of Medicine at Meharry Medical College."

Question: Is anyone familiar with the MHS Program. I will not attend the program if admitted, but I am curious.
 
Manno, you were considered uncompetitive for their class? What are your stats if you don't mind, so I can gauge my own competitiveness. Also, you have been accepted to PCOM and their averages run almost the same if not slightly higher than Meharry's, so maybe it is more of a fit issue than numbers. Congrats on your other acceptance(s).
