Nope! I know of at least one in-stater that received a full ride this cycle. I am well aware that it is an epic long shot, I'm just praying for something to make my UW/potential OHSU choice less ambiguous.

At least after this week I'll probably know if I even have OHSU as a choice! I suppose a rejection would DEFINITELY make that less ambiguous.

Did this individual have stellar stats/experience and was OHSU preventing them from accepting elsewhere?

So yes, they are definitelly recruitment scholarships, just not necessarily exclusive to OOS.

So...pretty much I wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in h-e-double hockey sticks in getting any love from OHSU... 🙁 Not that I was holding out much hope in the fist place 🙂

I also interviewed 3/22...eeeek! Hopefully the fact that I didn't hear today doesn't mean I'm headed for the hold pool.

Thanks!! Sending good vibes to those still waiting and hopes for low numbers to those on hold. Speaking of the second look days, anyone that already got a packet know those dates in may?

As for Facebook I will join once I get the news out to all those that have helped me along the way.. I would feel a little bad if they found out on FB first before I could thank the, personally. 🙂

Hello all, been looking around here for a while, thought I'd come out of the shadows : )

OOS, also interviewed 3/22, still no email, no portal update. Interviewed in the morning, if that has anything to do with when we'll hear back.

Now that I know people from the 22nd have heard my anxiety levels are through the roof!

Here's hoping for good news. . .

This is a silly question...but do all classes start at 8:00 in the morning? Everything I have seen thus far makes it seem that way and I wanted to start figuring out exact commuting schedules (a little early, but I can't help but be optimistic 🙂 )
 
Anyone taken the UC Berkley extension genetics course online? How exactly does it work, it says I have 6 months to finish but is it a go at my own rate, or is it weekly assignments? The reason I ask is I still have my job until June. If assignments are on a rolling basis I will need to start the class now in order to complete it by August, but if it is go at your own pace I could start it in June and just crush it out in two months. Anyone know the answer to this?

6 months or 6 weeks? I might join you in that class. I've been looking for an online class and haven't found one yet. How expensive is it for OOS students?

Maybe I should just look up those questions myself, lol...

Holy crap muffins topped with ehrmagawd! $795 for an ONLINE class available ANYTIME!? Is this for reals? Do we get a transcript and everything? If so, I can use my Vandy 70% tuition benefit, too!

+1 I hadn't heard of anyone coming off hold yet....if so that's kinda depressing

Wow, the biochem class is only $770. Wish I'd found that before signing up for the OSU class, it would've saved me $300 and I could've waited to take it until I knew for sure that I'd gotten in to OHSU 🙁

You are correct. Happy face was in poor taste 😳 It's probably a combination of 6, 12 hour, shifts training scribes and wishing I could be training some scribes at OHSU 🙂 Also I believe I get a little more insane each day waiting for May 15th, at least that is what I have been told....
 
Yes. I PERSONALLY know people who were on hold status after interview and have come OFF hold status and been accepted. In fact, I know more than one.

Yes. I know that it is depressing. And kind of misleading since...it says people on hold remain on hold until May 15th.

I interviewed a whileeeeee ago (after winter break). I like to remain anonymous here, so I won't specify the date, but it was during winter break. I know others who interviewed around my time, placed on hold and came off hold to be accepted. I also know individuals who were placed on hold and post-hold rejected.

Oh. I might also add that the facebook group is not reflective of the actual current class size at all...since I know people who are not part of the facebook group but have been accepted this year and are planning on going to OHSU. 🙁

Le sigh. I go back to my desperate pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease praying.

Last year a handful of people who had been in post-interview Hold status were offered acceptances in early Spring. At the time, it looked like OHSU attempting to comply with AAMC traffic rules. (Specifically the one about having made offers to fill 50% of the class by March 15th, IIRC.)

In any event, it is rare. Being stuck on hold until May 15 is completely normal and not a reason for despair (well, additional despair above the baseline level of despair, that is).

ETA: Wow, this is the 2,000th post in this thread.
