Do you think they will still have their post-interview admissions decision meeting on Wednesday?

who knows. They are probably going to catch up on what had to be done on Monday& Tuesday?

I'm going to assume they will continue wherever they left off if the school is even open tomorrow. I'm sure they are feeling some pressure now trying to get these interviews in and making decisions post-interview.

I submitted my secondary early December, but my account still says that my application is ready to view.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing? On this thread people who submitted after me already got an interview invite.

I absolutely LOVE this school, and even want to be a primary care physician. I know they are screening secondaries {edit} but i want to make sure my appl is at least reviewed soon, considering they are even winding down to the last few interviews they are going to give.

I'm not really sure what seems unfair to you? If it's the fact that people who were complete after you got an interview invite, you should know that not everyone will get an interview. Not to sound cruel, but they probably skipped over your application and/or picked other people to interview first because their application was stronger.

I have been accepted at this school and to this day my application status still says "Ready to Review." That never changes - it just means your application is done. If you are granted an interview invite, that is when an additional tab appears on the secondary site, but you will be informed in an email too if you are invited to interview.

Not unfair, everyone paid the secondary fee. The least the committee can do is review it for a possible interview.

Thank you for that info! Just wanted to make sure that my application is at least reviewed before interview decisions are made. Seems like they dont update the status. Good to know!

Thanks for answering the questions!

We all can speculate until we are blue in the face. Just because you submitted your application earlier does not mean you will get an interview earlier or at all.

You cannot tell from the application status whether the committee has seen your application and kept it for further review, or placed it in the "reject" pile.

I can tell you that the admissions staff at QU are some of nicest and most helpful people I have met that are on an ADCOM.

They have a lot of applications to go through, but I strongly believe that they review each application before making a decision.

According to Dr. Yeckel at the interview, he and Dr. Ellison go over the applications together and either both approve for an interview, both agree to not give an interview, or they disagree with eachother. If they disagree, your application is on hold and they go back to it another time.

I haven't seen a single pre-interview rejection. I'm very sure they are going to send mass rejections out at this point, and are going in order. They are too busy to send rejections individually.

I know some people think they are looking at everyone at the same time now, but I don't think it would be practical to switch approaches mid-stride. Bear in mind there are VERY few active members on this thread, so all the people who have been getting invites are just not here.

I could be wrong, though. I'm wrong the minute someone complete after someone else gets an invite (which may have happened in this thread, lol).

You're right, I haven't heard of a pre-interview rejection. They may be about to send out a mass amount of rejections like you said. However, I think the admissions was technically correct in telling us that all apps are being reviewed at the same time. I think what happened was that they were going in chronological order, but then the holidays caused a major back up in reviewing. Then when the deadline passed and no more apps were being received, the two adcom members responsible for reviewing applications are just stuck cycling through all the applications that they've gotten, hence "reviewing all at the same time". After that point, I don't think when you turned in your secondary matters, as much as how much more competitive your application is compared to other people. So in short, only the best applicants from this giant pool of people still waiting are going to get II's. I hope that made sense.

Yeah, you're making sense, and that's what I was thinking, but I don't know if they have time to review an application more than once, so there's no need to look at them in a swarm. I think it's more logical to look at one person, go "yay or nay?" and move on. They seem to have more applicants than they can handle, so they don't have to be overly considerate or careful.

I'm not saying they are jerks or something, but quite the opposite. Tf they want to be fair to all applicants, they have to look at all of them, and if they are going back and forth, I don't see how they could finish them all.

I think they're just cycling through all of them at this point . Hopefully the office is open tomorrow so I'll get an email answered...but I feel like II's are pretty much gone 🙁

So nervous about tomorrow... This is my number one school and I haven't gotten any acceptances yet

Honest question, was that "and" supposed to be "because"? 😉

FYI, same situation and sentiment (though pre-interview!). 🙂

Nope, but I can understand how it may be misinterpreted as that. The more I have been reflecting on it in the past few weeks, the more I have realized that it really is the best fit for me for many different reasons and that I felt the most comfortable while being there.

The worried emotions I expressed come into play here because not only is it my number one, but I've been waitlisted/rejected from the rest of the schools I have applied to. The stakes are pretty high for me.

Good luck! You will be fine. Sincerity will go along way. At least you will be interviewing tomorrow. I was supposed to interview Monday, now not until March 7!

If I'm not mistaken, he gets a decision tomorrow. He already did his interview.

Toni emailed me back, said there are still a few invites to be given out :scared:

Oh, ok...I didn't realize that post-interview you'd know when you'd hear. Good luck though!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Just playing 🙂

I figured since it seems that everyone on this thread has been so nice! (unlike many other threads haha)...how do you know you will hear tomorrow? They let you know after you interviewed?

@ acromonkey, did your interview get postponed again? Is it tomorrow now?

NO 🙁🙁🙁👎 I wish it was. They couldn't fit us in until March

Wait, what?!?! 😱 That's so crazy! I hope you didn't fly to CT only to wait around for a snowstorm to end, and then fly back without having interviewed

Called, Nadine is such a doll, haha. I swear, I wonder if this is how awesome and nice all admissions staff are before they do it for years, and then the enthusiasm and energy is sucked dry. But seriously hope they keep their pep, patience, and energy. Other admissions committees are like, "*sigh* the status online is the status we have, I can check that for you if you want, but you can do it your own damn self."

So yeah, Nadine didn't give a definitive number or deadline to when they will be done, but she said they are almost done. They have a few invites, which, by strict standards means single digits... O_O

Last, she said rejections have been handed out pre-interview. And that they are looking at them in random order, regardless of when you were complete.

Thanks for calling in! Toni told me the same thing: "few interview invites" so I'm thinking probably less than 30 🙁.

Please give me an interview QU!

I drove and waited! I was there Sunday night, got cancelled, then waited all day monday and was cancelled monday night, so drove back home monday. It will all be worth it if I'm accepted!! haha 🙂

Oh okay, that's a little bit better. But still! So now you have to wait all the way until March to do your interview?...

Yeah it was okay, I'm <3 hours from campus (hence why I was staying there) so it wasn't too bad. Yes, waiting until March. I'm sad because I was soooo excited to get the invite and so excited to get back on campus! I went for an open house and I just loved it. So we will see. I hope it doesn't affect my chances, since rolling admissions. This is definitely my first choice program!

Yeah I was going to say, isn't them pushing you back to March kind of hurting your chances a little bit 😕 What day in March did they assign you? I just wanna gauge how close they are to filling up the interview dates

Can someone clarify what the cost of tuition for an OOS will be?

Yeah that's how I feel, but there's really nothing else I can do at this point. I'm really bummed about that because my MCAT score isn't stellar. So being pushed a month it seems will be just another negative. I'm hoping for the best though

Looks like around 300k debt if you include all the other costs.

Going to sleep, good luck all who are waiting to hear back tomorrow

As of today, I just left one more spot open - I am going to explore other options, so I hope whoever takes my place is happy 🙂 QU is a great place.

At least they're giving you a chance! Keep thinking positive 🙂

Thanks for letting us know!
