C'mon, c'mon, c'mon! Every time I think about what today is, my stomach turns into knots. At the interview (9/28) they said we could hear back as early as today or tomorrow, but not to call (like the neurotic premeds we are) until after Halloween.

Good luck to everyone! For Davis, and for the whole shebang!

Yeah, sucks that we're on the 'cusp' so we could very well not get calls today, but it could very well mean nothing.

Also, I am finishing my last pre-med class (Bio Lab), so I might not even be eligible for an acceptance yet :\

Judging from last year's thread, calls came in in the evening.

That helps. I'll try not to hyperventilate until tonight, lol. Actually, I told myself to just chill and not worry until next week, but we'll see how that goes). 😱

hi all, just wanted to let u guys know that calls are indeed going out today!

i got a call earlier at 11 but missed it cause it my phone was on vibrate. there was no message, so i googled the area code, thinking it was just some telemarketer or something. when i realized it was near sac, i hyperventilated and called them back. LOL, anyway got my first acceptance. all i could manage to say during the phone call was "thank you thank you thank you" dozens of times. i'm so happy i'm emailing all my friends who helped me with apps/interview prep and my letter writers. i love you ucdavis! good luck to everyone!!!!

btw, i interviewed 9/7

Yeah, I decided I don't care about anything else today, I'm just praying I'll get a call with good news by the end of the day T_T Would be the best present ever.

interviewed 8/3, yeah talk about waiting time. hopefully acceptances are not in order of interview date..

Does anyone know how much the deposit is and when we're required to pay? Doesn't say anything about it on the letter of acceptance or website.

Has anyone who is still finishing prereqs gotten the acceptance call?
 
WOW, accepted this morning! Interviewed on 8/24...that was a long wait!
 
Interviewed 8/17, still nothing =( this can't be good... Sigh.

He called at 5:17pm pacific time. Just got off the phone with him (we played phone tag for a second).

I am glad to say that I have answered my own question about requirements by doing it myself, haha.
 
Got a call about 1.5 hours ago. Interviewed 8/20. I was at a bar when I answered LOL... I'm sure he heard the noise in the background ><

I actuallyc alled the office earlier today around 3pm pacific time, and the lady on the phone said that they were still making a decision and my status would be updated.

My status still doesn't say anything. So this means that the online system doesn't reflect the admissions decisions yet. Also, I'm sure he is still calling people since he called me pretty late (past 5pm pacific time) and it sounds like he's been making calls all day. What a nice man, dr. sousa..
 
Got a call around 10am this morning... I got in! I was laughing from disbelief the whole time, so Dr Sousa probably thought I was crazy. I couldn't help but carry a huge smile all day. Congrats on everyone who got calls today, and good luck to everyone still waiting!!!

btw, I interviewed late August.

I just missed two calls from him!! Does this mean I'm in?!?! The suspense is killing me! I called back, and have now been sitting freaking out for five minutes. :scared:

Congrats! I haven't seen anyone say they've gotten a call saying they were rejected, so I'm officially celebrating for you, haha!

Accepted this afternoon right at 4 pm! Woohoo!! I interviewed on 8/3... sounds like their order is pretty random to me.

Wow looks like lots of people got accepted on SDN. I interview here this Friday...hope there's some room left for me!

I interviewed Aug 31 and was so worried to check my phone all day. I kept checking SDN to see when they started (and stopped) calling for the day. Looks like you were called kinda late? - do you mind sharing what time you actually got the phone call?
Again, congrats! So excited for you!
 
Interviewed 08/12 and accepted here yesterday as well!! Still hasn't really hit me so my response to the call was more shocked than anything😀

So happy for the rest of you and those that didn't hear back yet, keep your chins up!

Sept 7.

To prep for the MMI, I just looked over a few of the sample scenarios (which are easily found with a google search). I practiced formulating ideas for 2 minutes and then tried to turn them into a coherent argument, just like the actual format. There really is no great way to prep for MMI, so you just have to be relaxed and confident at each station. The raters are most interested in how you interact with others and carry yourself in different situations, rather than judging the content of your arguments. My first experience with MMI was actually somewhat enjoyable and time goes by surprising quickly. Goodluck!

Sure! Missed two calls at 5:57pm PST, and we played phone tag until 7pm. Good luck!

And for MMIs, they say, 'You've been preparing for this your entire life!' However a recent study on Davis MMIs found that agreeableness as extroversion were the two qualities more correlated with an acceptance.
 
Agreeableness AND extroversion. Whoops.
 
Still haven't heard! Waiting is torturous, even if it's not an acceptance. I'm OOS, so the odds aren't ever in my favor . 😛

This made me extra nervous afterwards, as I'm technically an introvert, tho I have burst of extrovertness
