The same thing happened to me. ~3.6 GPA and 35 MCAT but secondary invite on the same day. Who knows what/who screened to give out secondaries....

By "confusing" you meant random? crapshoot? If so, you are not the only one. But congrats anyway!
 
As my friend who got accepted to medical school would say, "it's all chance." He got rejected from UC Davis pre secondary but got an interview invite to UCSF. So you never know. All you can do is to maximize your chances by applying to many, doing as best as you can with your GPA and MCAT (even if you have to take it 3 times), doing extracurricular activities that you have a PASSION for, and don't get into trouble. Just sit back and relax and drink some coronas.
 
After being AMCAS complete June 20th, I finally just received a secondary from UCSF... So, there is hope.
 
I was verified Saturday and got secondary invite monday- 3.74 34N

also got sec invts for davis and irvine :]

yay!
 
Just got secondary!

It seems like there is really only one question for the secondary.

"If you wish to update or expand upon your activities, you may provide additional information below. "

What did most people do with this question?

When was your primary received by UCSF?

Lol Whatever... I know I would do fine at any institution, my gpa is lower because of HS college classes (when i sucked as a student), and I was scoring 37-38 on my AAMC tests- got unlucky with my MCAT

Your stats seem great to me...I don't know why you feel the need to defend yourself because I sure wouldn't be 😛

I was verified on 09/06/2012 and your experience gives me renewed hope for a secondary invite.

My primary was actually verified back in 7/16. I retook MCAT in August. And I received secondary within 24 hours after my MCAT retake score was released.

Anyone shed some light on what they really want us to write on "additional info"?

My status just got updated but I can't access it!! Freaking out! Is it possibly a rejection (have they rejected anybody post-secondary yet?) Would LOVE to interview here although I JUST gave up and purchased my Stanford ticket... sigh

Awesome man, hopefully these updates are indeed interview invitations, which I expect to be the case since it is early to be rejecting post-secondary (hope I didn't just jinx myself)

When were you at Michigan if you don't mind me asking? Maybe we ran into each other?
 
1 week ago today. I wore a suit. Perhaps we did! And I hope these are II's too!
 
Status changed-- rejected post secondary, OOS. Oh well, SF would have been cool to visit but I don't think I would have been able to afford OOS tuition. Good luck to those still in it!
 
NeuroDevil, did it say that on the status box or did you have to download something???
