I got the "IdM: manual matching required" message today too. Did waiting for a few days work for those of you that had the same problem?

I'd like to make a toast to possibly the easiest, and cheapest, secondary ever.

I've seen easier and cheaper, but not together. So overall I think this one takes the cake 😀

And the award to cheapest supplemental goes to........UC! (out of my schools, 🙂 )

$25!!!! Can I apply twice??

i didn't see the password it generated for me, and there's no way to get it over email. is the password something generic like our amcas ID# or SSN? thanks!

Submitted!! Hoping to get some NKY love from UC ... good luck everyone!

If I am taking this year off but already explained what I am doing in my AMCAS, should I check the box and leave it blank or check the box and repeat what I said on my AMCAS?

If you're checking the box, I think it's a pretty bad idea to leave it blank - looks like you aren't doing anything. I would re-phrase whatever you put on AMCAS/whatever you're doing.
That's what I did anyway

So under the "conduct" questions, this was the 4th question: Have you ever matriculated at or attended any medical school as a candidate for the M.D. degree? If yes, please explain below.

So I answered "no," but when I reviewed the secondary application adcoms at UC will see, the question changed to, "have you graduate from college? if so, what have you done since?"

Did anyone else notice this? I definitely have not matriculated to a medical school, but I graduated from college a few years ago so this is a problem.

When I preview my app in pdf form under the demographic information it has fields for race and ethnicity which are blank; it looks like it did not parse the information from the amcas primary? Yet there is no field in the secondary application to supply this information....

Yeah, I have the same thing. But if you say you have matriculated at another school, there "essay" prompt shows up on the review. If you say you have not matriculated, the prompt is not there.

I do not think there is an issue.

Yeah I hope there wont be.

ugh still no secondary. verified ages ago, IS, and getting antsy.

so when i explain a speeding ticket, do i just say "I got a speeding ticket driving too fast in January 2011" or do I go into detail, or what??

Submitted and didn't realize we had to put down traffic violations. I got a speeding ticket in 2008-2009, should I contact admissions tomorrow morning?

Yes, contact them

lol funny how they make us talk about our traffic violations.

Did you guys just say what the ticket was for? I don't have to write an essay about how that influenced me to go into medicine, do I? 🙂

I am having the same issue where I cannot select a program, seems odd. Hopefully it sorts itself out soon, cause I work during the day so I couldn't do it when they had it fixed earlier.

I just wrote the date and what I got it for

Screw it if they reject me cause of a chickensh** ticket.

So there really is no secondary essay for this school? Just that short essay if you are not doing a degree right now...?

Yes.

The secondary website is annoying. It's randomly not letting me log-in now...

Got the secondary today - no essays and only a $25 fee... even more reason to love UC!

if you are a returning user, try selecting new user and then letting it tell you that you are already in their system... it fixed that same problem for me

I didn't. I just wrote down the date that I got the ticket and what it was for.

Didn't notice the section for traffic violations. Is this something I can fix through a phone call?

I don't get how people can miss the part about speeding tickets. You have to check the box before you can submit..

UC is an awesome school guys -- hope all of you get to check it out!

If I remember correctly, I just stated that I received a speeding ticket and the date it happened. I will be a first year med student this fall so I am assuming that is sufficient.

Good Luck!

I called this morning regarding the speeding tickets. They said just email admissions ([email protected]) about it and they'll fix it on your file for you.

Do tickets as a minor count? I think your record is wiped after 18 but just wanted to double check that I don't have to list my poor driving of 16 & 17!!

I actually called the police for my city last night and asked them to look up my record so that I would know what to put and my speeding ticket from when I was 17 was still listed, so I guess they don't get wiped.

I would list everything to be safe. An adcom is going to understand that you were stupid when you were 16 and have grown a lot since.

Is anyone having trouble remembering their speeding tickets? I, honest to god, cannot remember any tickets past the one I got when I was 16. I've had several background checks recently and nothing has shown up--but does the average background check show moving violations?

Do the med schools use some kind of amped-up background check?

UC--Secondary #1.

My primary hasn't been verified but I filled out the secondary and it's letting me click the "submit" button. Is there any reason I should wait until my primary has been verified..?

I wonder if the speeding ticket question is to judge your honesty. Most people have had a moving violation so should answer yes. I drive like a grandma and have never gotten one so this question may work against me.

Personally I would wait because some schools do not like this. I heard in the Albert Einstein thread that people who did this were immediately rejected as a result of doing so.

That's true, but AE also has it written 47 times on different pages that they'll disqualify an applicant for doing that. 🙂

Of course it's logical and all applicants should be aware of the policy, but it seems unfair to reject someone based on such a small and seemingly insignificant mistake. Anyways, let's not derail the Cinci thread 🙂
