Interview invitation! Will be there 10/19; as of today the earliest available Pritzker interview was 10/18, and plane tickets from Alaska to anywhere are really expensive. Super excited!

Edit: Complete 7/26. 41R/3.85.

Congratz on IIs, guys! Do you mind sharing when you were complete?

Can someone please tell me if this has happened before: I DID NOT submit a secondary yet to Michigan (but my primary and LORs have all been in for a few weeks), and I got an interview invite today... ???? I was wondering if any of you guys received an invite without turning in a secondary too?

At first I actually thought the email was spam (rather than text, it was a "congratulations" image linked to the app website), but it's leading me to the actual application-- when I log-in (first time I have done so because I've been swamped with other secondaries), I do have an interview invite! Other people who have received an invite: was the subject of your email: Michigan Medical School-Status Update for (AMCAS ID here)?

SO I'm confused and slightly flattered assuming this was not a glitch in their system. Should I contact them, sign up for an interview, actually fill out the secondary or all of the above?

EDIT: I just read the website more closely and it seems like I just have to get everything completed 2 weeks before the interview...

My friend got an automatic secondary based on his numbers last year. This is likely the case for you as well. Congrats!

Now, you are either a troll trying to depress us, or congrats! I'm going to stick with congrats.

Yes, yes the OP is.

Just submitted my secondary. I feel so behind!

First of all, I'm a "she," and yeah, I just realized that response was for an automatic secondary... Anyway, I have successfully signed up for an interview and am working on that secondary now 🙂

Sorry I mistyped. I meant to say automatic interview. Sorry for the confusion.

(Everyone clearly gets an automatic secondary)

I got an II today, but when I go to select the dates for my interview none appear in the drop down box. Anyone else having this problem?

Same here. Glitch in the system most likely. It shouldn't be a big deal though. We got the interview, now we just have to wait for them to fix it.

I am also having the same issue, I hope it isn't because the dates are filled up.

Dates were filled up but they just opened up two more dates! Going October 26th.

First II for today's Thursday 3-2-1!!

Complete 8/22. In State, >3.8 and 34R

Also going October 26. Glad they opened up more dates!

Does anyone know if it makes sense to rent a car from DTW or is there good shuttle/bus service around Ann Arbor? I usually prefer public transit but would hate to get stuck navigating a difficult town at 7 am...thanks!

Bus service is very infrequent and doesn't run all the way into ann arbor, and a shuttle both ways will run you almost as much as a car. If you're staying anywhere but right on campus, I'd definitely go with a rental car.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

Other October 26 folks, feel free to PM if you want to chat!

Uh-oh. Hopefully tomorrow's the day :xf:

I'm curious to hear what the big news is!

Maybe they're reimbursing travel costs for all of their interviewees

when I interviewed for grad school there, the department bought our plane tickets. . .

seriously though, I'm so curious too! Perhaps they're increasing class size?

Is Michigan already MMI? If not, then maybe thats the big news as a lot of schools are leaning that way now.

Hopefully its free football tickets though. :xf:

I seriously doubt that they're switching to MMI. They told interviewees that there are 3 30-minute interviews. It would be quite a shock for them to change to MMI so close to the first interviews.

From Twitter: "A change in our interview format this year: Still 3-30min. interviews & open file but interviewers will not have any grades/scores."

As a chemical engineer with a low(ish) GPA of 3.55 I would also love an answer to this question. It has got me stressed!

I'm OOS, got my interview invite on 8/23. I had submitted my secondary on 7/6, but my letters of rec weren't in until 8/27. I finally just found a student host to stay with the night before my interview 😀 Pretty excited.

The tracker was updated. Already 307 interviews given out :scared: I hope I get some love soon, I've been complete for two months now...

Their backdata indicates a previous class was >7% engineering majors. Either they made up for it last year by going for a smaller proportion, or it's just how it turned out.

mee tooo 🙁 I'm afraid my GPA is killing me here

Yeah I'm pretty terrified also! I hoped IS would have boosted my chances, but maybe I'm just not that competitive of an applicant. It's my #1 choice 🙁. Anyone know from US News how many interviews they normally offer? I've been complete for a month now...

The interview tracker says interviews are given out of /600. Not sure exactly how accurate that will be.

For the entering class of 2012 667 people were interviewed.

Hmm I don't see the /600 part. All I see is
"Applications Received: 3724
Interviews Offered: 307
Admissions Offers made: 0
(First offer 10/15/2012)"

Either way, it sounds like they're near the halfway mark! Whether that be good or bad.

If you download the PPT from the "More Tracker Information" link at the bottom then it says X/200 instate interviews and X/400 out of state interviews.

Did anyone just get an email from Admissions regarding applying?
