OMG AN EMAIL FROM TOLE... Oh. Another "hold tight, nothing's changed email." My heart can't take many more of those, Toledo.

I had a mini stroke when I got an email from them this weekend. 'we see you've completed your FAFSA.' I added Toledo to my list of schools on FAFSA, and for some reason they think I want to apply to the undergrad college.

I didn't get the 'nothing's changed email.' Maybe something has changed ( more likely I'm so far to the bottom of their wait list they didn't bother to send one).

I like how their email for the alternate list included a plug for their master's programs. 'We're still interested in your candidacy, but oh, here's our other programs if you don't get in, because if we don't want you, no one else will.'

That's odd. Maybe they finally processed my update. Summary: thanks for your continued interest. Updates aren't necessary. Acceptances will be sent electronically mid May to late July. Wait list ranking in June. Make sure your email is up to date.

Thank God somebody else got the 'updates aren't necessary.' I thought they just didn't want to hear from me, indicating I was bound for rejection.

It looks like they're just acknowledging your update. I emailed them asking about updates, and they replied, 'It is not necessary to send updates. Offers from the alternate list will* be determined when any of the candidates' accepted withdraw their offer of acceptance.' to me, it sounded like, 'Stop bothering us. We have really good candidates to consider, you're wasting our time.'

Yeah idk I wouldn't read too much into it. It's been in most of the emails they've sent, but that hasn't stopped me. I mailed my letter to the dean like a month ago, and have had some other updates/recs. They're probably just sick of hearing about me, but I'm just trying to give them ample opportunity to rectify their mistake lol.

But yeah, this email seemed like a "here comes the wait list movement!" email. We'll know soon, hopefully.

I got an acceptance from here today, so there is waitlist movement!

Does Toledo show any preference to MI residents at all? I'm from the metro detroit area which is only an hour or two from Toledo so i'm considering applying here, but the 30% OOS acceptance rate from the MSAR has me worried...

Was it by email? I got a call from UT (was on my missed call list), but I think it was just a reply to the call I made a few days ago, begging for information. Number was (419) 383-4000

Last cycle they did call people, but KinesiologyNerd's email says they're only giving electronic acceptances. Now I'm going to be going nuts until tomorrow. Note to self--never call admissions again and leave number.

I got a call from that number. After that, Ms. Wile sent me the acceptance email.

No acceptance email here. *expletives* This is the closest I've come to an MD acceptance yet.

Back to being depressed.🙁

Don't be dejected just yet. During my call, Ms. Wile said she'd go ahead and send me the email. It sounded like she would have held off on the email until she'd talked to me in person, so keep your head up and call back tomorrow.

Thanks. I emailed her this evening--I've contacted them so much now that if it is nothing I'm definitely going to be put on their rejection list for annoying them so much.

I'm in! I don't believe it! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!😍

Stats:

OOS- 3.7/34
Interviewed March 21- wait listed first week of April----accepted 5/12

Gosh I am seriously praying..... At this point is there anything to do but sit back and wait? I would like to call them to still show interest like silvercat, but not sure what to say and I don't want to annoy them! Praying every minute of the day for a phone call now haha

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess you need to change your location 🙂

Bump. Any opinions?

Withdrew today! Hope one of you gets my spot! IS, non-trad, female.

My husband just got his acceptance! OOS, non-trad.

This is his third year applying (though first time applying to any US schools). So, to say we're thrilled and relieved is a grand understatement. 😀

So any advice on where to rent a house? Our 4yo starts kindergarten this fall, so I have to figure out where a decent school is.

Depends how much of a commute you want. Waterville/Whitehouse/Monclova area south of Toledo is where I grew up. Anthony Wayne is arguably the best public district in the area. Lots of nice affordable neighborhoods. It'll be a 20-30 minute drive though. I also don't really know about rental homes, but there are a lot of condo developments springing up.

I'm really glad to hear that! It was thanks to you that I sent in an update and got my interview, so it's good hear your husband got in.

Was just accepted!!!!!

Congrats guys! Look forward to meeting you in August!

I just got admitted today as well after being waitlisted last week.
This is awesomeeee!

Do you know what we're supposed to do now? I got the acceptance email and it said they would send a follow up email with the acceptance/intent letters but I haven't gotten one yet. Yay so excited!

you know I have no idea, I'm assuming by early next week because that is when we have to tell them if we accept the admission or not.

Did toledo already have it's second look day?

are Pre-matriculation Health Requirement forms available to students once we send in "accept acceptance" letter??

accepted yesterday as well 🙂

Congrats! Yes,you just send in your letter of intent and you will be emailed back the health forms along with other stuff.

Hello,

Like some of you here, I also just got in off the waitlist. 🙂 However, I still have one main concern before deciding to come here.

Are there any M3/M4s available to comment on the clinical rotation sites? Did you guys feel you saw enough of a diverse patient population to make you feel well-prepared for residency? Was there anything within your rotations that you felt was lacking? I am from CA, so I want to make sure that being in Ohio won't prevent me from matching back into CA or other well-known institutions when the time comes.

Thanks in advance for your responses. If there's anything else you think I should know, please tell.

Awww, shucks. Glad to have been even the smallest part of your good fortune!

Is there a facebook group for the class? Haha

Bummer, still nothing from Toledo yet. This waiting game absolutely sucks, lol...

Any other accepted applicants coming from Chicago?
Really excited to start looking for a place and meeting everybody 🙂

A question for current students- do most med students live in apartments? Do any live in dorms? If so, are the dorms a reasonable price, and liveable ( i.e. No drunk undergrads coming in at 2 AM or blasting music)? I've never lived on campus- always at home with parents- so I have no idea how housing works.

Just got accepted, and I'm super excited! I'm OOS and interviewed in early April. Looking forward to meeting you all, and good luck to those still waiting!

Congratulations !! Mind sharing your stats ? (MCAT/GPA)

30/3.8, and I was accepted a few days after I sent a letter of interest. Not sure how much of an impact this had, if any, but it might be a worthwhile pursuit for those particularly enthusiastic about a certain school/program.

Previous cycles had acceptances sent until July, so I wouldn't lose all hope quite yet.

My non-trad, OOP husband just withdrew his Toledo acceptance in favor of UC. Hopefully that helps one of you!

Thank you to you and your husband! Congrats to his acceptance at UC, and hopefully this doesn't sound selfish, I really hope I get pull off the waitlist, lol. 🙂

No way, brah. That spot is mine!!!

lol seriously though, hoping for the best with both of us. It's nice to be in somewhere, but dang I'd like to stay in state (in county actually). I'm wondering if the acceptances will come in waves as wait list acceptances expire and they fire out new batches.

/I can hope.
