Accepted yesterday as well. Interviewed 4/15, waitlisted 5/9.
 
To the people coming off the waitlist, did any of you send a letter of interest or anything like that recently?

nope. I've had no contact with them. In all the correspondence it says it is not necessary to submit further material. I did send a brief email about a week before I got my (very late) interview offer....but I can't say for sure that had anything to do with it. Probably wouldn't hurt to send an update if you're really interested.

Welcome and congrats!

As an acceptee from the waitlist, am I basically out of the running for any scholarships? Does anyone know how much in scholarships the average Toledo student receives? I'm really hoping to offset that high OOS first year tuition.
 
I wouldn't be too concerned it seems that quite a few students are coming off the waitlist and the ryerson scholarship date was extended as well.

Do you happen to know how much they give for the Ryerson scholarship, or how many receive it? I can't seem to find this info on their site.

Got this email today....looks like you are automatically considered for all scholarships with the exception of the two mentioned that require their own apps.

All students accepted into The University of Toledo Medical School for Fall 2013 will be considered for all scholarships.
Except for two scholarships, the Ryerson and the Promedica , they require a paper application to be completed.
Please see the attached applications. If you have already submitted your applications please disregard this e-mail.

The deadline has been extended to Friday June 7th. Your recommenders may e-mail the letters directly to my e-mail address.
If you would like me to include your letters of recommendation from your AMCAS application please let me know.
Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Promedica/University of Toledo Better Together Scholarship
The University of Toledo and Promedica are happy to introduce the Better Together Scholarship, the newest scholarship for entering and continuing University of Toledo Medical Center students.
Recipients must be permanent residents in a 27-county region, who demonstrate an intent to return to the region after they complete their medical training.

Is anyone else in the situation where their Hep B titer will be more than 8 weeks after the 3rd and final Hep B shot? Not sure if UT will accept that 😕
 
Nah, I think Im good. I got the three step Hep B vaccinations when I was like 4 years old and that was enough for the doctor to sign off.
 
didn't the paperwork say all you need is the 1st shot by the orientation day? (I'm pretty sure it Toledo one...i could go check when i get home)
 
Has anyone heard back about financial aid or received any scholarships yet?
 
They have made decisions on some scholarships. A member of the staff called and notified me I was awarded a pretty generous award. They said they will be sending out things regarding financial aide soon... sorry I don't really have any details
 
Darn. Guess I'm going to be taking out that 60,000 in loans after all. 🙁
 
Whatever happened to that email about our priority status?
 
Honestly if I'm low priority I'd still feel better cuz at least I'd know and can be ready to apply again.

So, is the waitlist movement for Toledo over? I really wanna go here, but I'm not sure where I stand on the waitlist + I didn't get a phone call yet 🙁 I'm staring at my cell- wishing that it will magically ring & give me an acceptance from Toledo, haha.

For what it's worth, I was not called. Keep hope, at least one of the most recent acceptances declined. Also, call me crazy but it seems like they've been making most of their acceptances on like Thursday/Friday.
 
Just finished with my pharmacy program and looking to sell the furnitures in my apartment (1 queen bed, 1 computer desk, 1 study desk, 1 dining table, 1 coffee table and 1 night stand). Everything is in pristine condition, perfect package for new student who is looking to furnish an apartment for cheap. Everything was bought 6 months ago. I am asking for $250 for everything. Please pm me for more details.
 
OMG, I missed a call from a "419" area code (which seem familiar...lol) b/c I was working out in the gym (this is the last summer that I would actually have this time, lol) and I just received an acceptance from Toledo University! I'm so happy!

Congrats! It's great that so many SDN wait listers have been pulled this year.

They sent us a PDF with the dates for all the blocks but that was it. I tried attaching it to my post. On a similar note, does anyone know what the weekly schedule is for classes? Thanks 🙂

Accepted off the waitlist yesterday! Interviewed late November. They told me I was high priority yesterday at 12 and then called me at 4 lol

LOL, thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!!!! I'm super happy I gotten in. And I can't wait to start the medical school & meet everyone in our UTCOM class of 2017, lol.

Oh btw, where do medical students typically live? I'm buying furniture already but have no idea where I'm going to live yet. Oh, and where can I find a roommate? Are there any nice, quiet, clean, neat UTCOM females that are looking for a roommate? lol
 
I just found out I'm high priority. I really hope to hear something. Toledo is my top choice. But it's good that the list is still moving.

Btw, have you found an apt yet? Heard anything about what we are doing during orientation? I'm super excited and pumped, lol.

I went there for a weekend and looked at almost all of the places where students usually stay. IMO Foxchase was the best; check it out. Or ask students on the FB page...

Thanks! I will- I'm going to Toledo in 2 weeks but I wanted some guidance on where to search first...and I would ask students on FB page but they haven't accepted my request to join the page yet, lol.

Fox Chase won't have apartments open till August 13 when I called. Quail Hollow is also on waitlist. Check out Valley stream (nearby those places and MUCH cheaper) and the Ridge at Tibaron for other options. When are you guys moving? I am thinking mid July...
 
Mid-July, lol- crap that is fast..lol...I'm going down July 2, so I suppose I would probably be moving in around July 20-ish.

And thanks for the apt search tips! Honestly, I really dislike apt searching/hunting, so this whole process (for me) is quite painful, lol.

That's weird about Fox Chase. When you click an individual floor plan availability on their website, some are open as early as mid July.

I haven't found a place. Right now with my parents I'm ~15-20 min from the school. I'm wavering between apartment/house with my brother/living at home.
 
Sorry I should clarify. The 2 bedroom apartments at Fox Chase aren't available till mid August. I called them a few days ago. Have you guys taken care of your health forms yet? I have to get all those titer shot things soon. That's gonna break the bank account 🙁

Oh ok. Yeah, I'm in the process. Needed Hep B, tetanus, and PPD (my last was 13 months ago d'oh!). I had all of the titers done when I got my gap year job, though. So I'm going to turn in the forms after hep B #2.
