No, I think they only meet once a month. I think we are still hoping that the wave of admits from this month's meeting hasn't happened yet.

I thought for SURE today would be the day. Maybe they've already made all of the offers they're going to make before the waitlist starts to move for real in April/May?
 
Yikes! I hope this treacherous weather doesn't mean tomorrow's interviews are cancelled. 🙁

I was hoping too, but I got nothing.
 
The status does say... by end of april they will make movement... so much waiting.
 
Got the official acceptance package in the mail today. Came with a maple flavored pop 😀
 
I got the email saying (and I'm paraphrasing here) "We were glad to find out you are not a serial killer, you're acceptance package is on its way!"
So exciting!!
 
maybe they were busy with all of that stuff, and that's why they haven't accepted anyone from the January review session?
 
Just got an interview invite today for March 28th!
 
August/September I forget the exact date. But I got small pooled in November/December.
 
I just got an email encouraging me to apply for FAFSA ...does this mean anything? I'm OOS WLed since last year.

Interview Invite!

I had the interview pooled status for months...I was complete end of July. Interview is scheduled for April, so I guess they're still interviewing for a few more months!

How are your chances at getting an acceptance if your interview after February? Is every oos applicant have to get waitlisted before getting accepted? thanks

That is my understanding from what I was told during my interview. It also seems to go along with the other posts of this years and last years thread. Good luck with your interview!! I'm sure that you are going to love it there.

In past years, applicants who have interviewed as late as April have been accepted. And yes, every OOS applicant is placed on the OOS WL for a certain period of time before receiving an acceptance. This can range from hours to months.
 
So for everyone who interviewed in Nov/Dec and got reviewed by the ADCOM on Jan 15th what do we think is going on? I love UVM and it is my top choice for medical school. So of course I am thinking of ever possible scenario. So I am going to vent a bit and post my ideas and hopefully one of you guys might actually know whats going on.
1. They did send out acceptances soon after Jan 15 and it just happens that none of them get on SDN or posted on SDN. The reason I saw this is last year there was a batch of acceptances thrown out in mid Jan and it seems like every time they waitlist people they accept some soon afterwards.
2. They are so backed up that they are deciding to hold out their acceptances until they do their February ADCOM meeting. Then they will send out a larger group of acceptances mid February.
3. For some reason they are planning on wait listing everyone and doing one larger acceptance in April as it says on our OAC homepage.

Well it feels good to vent a bit and I am really hoping that the answer is closer to #2 than #3 or #1. Does anyone else have any ideas?
 
I think it is 2 or 3- hoping for 2. I think there are enough of us on sdn that if they had admitted after the jan 15 meeting we would have heard about it.
 
The FB group is 40 people including admins. You can glean the demographics of current members, Vermonters, marrieds, M/F, etc.

At least 21 of the people in the Class of 2017 fb page are current UVM COM students. So, I wouldn't count on this for information on the number of admitted students or the demographics of the incoming class.
 
I agree with wanderedtoolong. There is also a possibility that they have already given out 114 acceptances (I think that is the class size) and are waiting for responses from these students before they accept more people, in which case acceptances could either be sent out in batches or one at a time.

I am really hoping that is not the case. Well does anyone know when the next ADCOM meeting will take place?

I think this is unfortunately a possibility- there are a LOT of OOS acceptances on here from earlier this year. However, given that they interview through April, I'd be surprised if they didn't have spots still open at their Jan 15 meeting since it's about the half way point for them.

That sucks. Having interviewed in early-mid Nov, and been on the OOS WL for so long, it would suck! Although I saw SOMEONE from my interview date get a temp OOS WL and then acceptance after the adcom meeting in Nov...=/ Lucky guy.

the hilton provides shuttle service but no free b-fast unless you're hhonors gold or above.

I paid ~65 for the Sheraton and it's right by UVM, but they have free shuttle service (don't forget to tip the driver!).
