Admit decisions are on the portal now! I got an email telling me to check. Of course, I was waitlisted to hell...

Looks like Barcarole is MD/PhD so we might have to wait a few days more.

EDIT: But it'd be awesome if we found out today -- at least the wait would be over, hahah.
 
Does anyone know if MD and MD/PhD decisions have been announced on the same dates in the past?

Looking at old threads it seems like MD/PhD decisions are announced at least a few days before MD
 
So, they are actually out?
Any MD interviewees hear anything?
 
Are decisions be in the "Status" tab - "Communications" link?
 
decisions are in a new "Admissions Decision" tab that appears between the Home and Interview tabs

+2 waitlisted MSTP :/

Wow, now that's what I call a top-heavy school list! Glad it's working out for you though

Now now, the odds are low, but not quite that bad. The numbers I found online said in a recent year they admitted 286 of the 1194 they interviewed, for a 24% chance. (That includes waitlist admits too).
 
So are we still thinking Friday is the big day? Or could it be earlier since MD/PhD decisions are out?
 
I'd say Friday is still a safe bet. The very end of February seems to be the trend.
 
I think it will be before Friday. I think we'll know by Wednesday.

Do you have any basis for that prediction?

I'm going to go out on a limb and make my own prediction: Columbia will announce their decisions on or before March 15. Until that day arrives, I'm just going to keep on focusing on my last semester and not worry about it.

Not really, but we got those emails last Wednesday and last year they got the emails saying decisions were coming soon exactly a week before decisions came out. Plus the MD/PhD decisions are already out and I think historically that happens like 4 days before MD decisions come out.

Fair enough. Hopefully this week so I can make some final decisions myself.

Oh gosh I'm so nervous now lol. But I checked the threads from the last two years and like clockwork that email warning us that decisions are coming soon comes exactly a week before the calls and the MD/PhD applicants find out 4 days before. Today lines up for both dates.

I don't even know how to feel right now, haha. I'm not mentally prepared.

The calls start late afternoon usually right?

I think I remember from one of the previous threads, someone getting a call as early as 11 something am. 😱
 
MSAR says the 28th would be the earliest notification day though...

It actually says March 1st, so this could refer to an official email or package, because in the past people have definitely gotten calls on February 28th. Then again this is all just speculation. Maybe it won't be until Friday. I'm just reporting the patterns I've noticed. We'll all know soon enough 🙂

I guess someone could just call but admissions offices tend to be very secretive about this kind of info lol. Or the secretary picking up just doesn't know the answer.
 
psssst... Hi everyone! First year here at P&S and got an email just now from our admissions office that made me think of coming to check in here with you guys. We were just told that as of today, acceptance letters have officially been sent to the Class of 2018!! hooray!

Now, what that means as far as getting calls and/or emails, I don't know. And I'd bet the admissions office won't be giving more details out yet either. I do know that they're asking for volunteers to call accepted students next Tuesday to congratulate and answer any questions about P&S, so my guess is that y'all will hear your decisions by the end of this week, and if they sent the letters out today I can't imagine it wouldn't be in the next two days or so but please don't quote me on that!! Sorry I can't give an exact day because I know how extremely tough it is to wait, but guys! this is the home stretch! you're almost there.

good luck to all of you and can't wait to see you all come second look (which I hear is being revamped to be even more awesome!)!

No problem, guys! I just saw that email and knew I would've appreciated that kind of info last year because I, too, was neurotically waiting at my computer screen for any kind of news. Happy to pass it along/pay it forward.

On another note, P&S is just an amazing, amazing place and I'm so happy I chose to come here. My class is just incredible, and I know yours will be too. another huge GOOD LUCK to everyone waiting, I know it's so so so hard but in what feels like just a second these moments will have come and gone like the blink of an eye. I can't believe it's been a whole year since I was in the same spot. ENJOY IT, and celebrate, no matter what. You're all going to end up at amazing places and you'll be sitting here in a year like I am wondering where the time went and looking forward to the future. Congratulations, to each and every one of you!

Just to be sure, only accepted student will hear back this week right? Waitlist and rejections will be much later?

Will some accepted students not be called or emailed?
