I figure it wont be at least to the end of the week... Im guessing they have to give some of the people who were just accepted a chance to decline or accept the offer. I hope they only give them 2 weeks and not a month tho... geesh

Mine as well. Birmingham! And I was accepted Thursday the week before last

Nice, congratulations! That's a pretty quick turn around, I've been waiting 3 months on mine

Birmingham too! And I interviewed March 13th and was accepted April 10th too!
Did you have one of the interviews that had to be rescheduled because of snow?

Any clue on when we may hear about financial aid? Maybe current students could comment on when they heard and if they were happy with their offers?

What's everyone doing for housing next year? Anyone looking for a roommate?

Just out of curiosity, if I wanted to apply to masters program's for the following fall semester, are those deadlines already past?

What are anyone's plans in case you are not accepted?

Yeah not too sure. I was thinking masters but I haven't looked into it too much. Apparently there are some programs that have deadlines in July. Idk it may be too early to start considering this option.

If we do not hear by tomorrow, this will be approaching absurd. I can't EVER recall any final decisions process getting into the month of May. You are giving applicants less than 2 weeks to decide. I wonder if people with other acceptances might get fed up and go ahead with their decision. I know I would..

I second that.

Unfortunately with the AMCAS delays this year, everything is late and delayed with the whole app cycle it seems. I'm still waiting to hear back from another school that didn't even have the same weather issues as Alabama, as well as a wait list decision that probably won't be made until after the 5/15 deadline. I guess applying to medical school is one big exercise in patience that will prepare us while waiting for Step scores, residency interviews, the match and etc.

Why was Amcas delayed?

Yes, I have been accepted to UAB and my campus assignment is Tuscaloosa

Today would make sense. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if it's not. I don't know what to think anymore.

have they rejected anyone yet and typically how many people are in each tier of their wait list?

45 per tier if I remember correctly from last year. No one rejected as far as I have heard.

so they must not reject many people if the tiers are that big. right? i remember at interview they said just about everyone in top and middle get in plus some in the bottom sometimes.

Last year, some people from the third tier got in before some people on the second tier.

It's usually all of top tier and about half of second. Last year some on third tier were told they were actually second tier and got in.

is UAB a little friendlier towards reapplicants? I know USA accepts a decent amount of people who reapply.

My advisor has called and their admissions office won't call back. I hope they know that not even communicating with our pre-med advisors looks pretty bad......How hard would it be to post a date for when they will let us know on their website?

For people who are accepted, make sure you check your @uab.edu email. Financial aid has been sending me an email every week for the past 5 weeks to that address instead of my normal email address. So freaking ridiculous.
